    • Trivia

      ADD TRIVIA
      • Actually it depends on your definition of where space begins. In the 60s many of the astro/cosmo nauts orbited MUCH lower. From these orbits (think of the Concorde if it was a few miles higher) you CAN see long streches of things like roads. From orbits today like in the Space Shuttle or the Space Station or "the moon" you cannot see earthly features. So it would all depend on exactly how high the astronauts were orbiting. Edit
      • http://geography.about.com/library/weekly/aa090100a.htm This should clear up whether or not you could see the great wall from space. According to this site, at typical shuttle orbit, the great wall of china, the Golden Gate brifge and many other man-made objects can be seen. Edit
      • Sad to have to nitpick a nitpick, but... You absolutely cannot see the great Wall of China from space with the naked eye. It is no wider than a regular highway. There are many structures on the planet covering MUCH more surface area and they are not visible either. Edit

      ADD NOTES
      • Theme of episode: Every now and then, disobeying an instruction can be the best instruction of all. Edit
      • The late, great, Francis Dale "Chick" Hearn was the play by play man for the Los Angeles Lakers. He also was the first announcer ever inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Edit
