At the beginning of the series the Howell's have been married for 19 years. Right before the dream sequence Thurston mentions their marriage is 22 years old.
This is the only episode with multiple dream sequences. There were four; each of the men had one.
Skipper: How long have [the women] been gone? Gilligan: 61 hours. Professor: 42 minutes. Thurston: 11 seconds.
Gilligan: You know, without the women, washing clothes is kind of fun. Skipper: That's right, Gilligan. Gilligan: Cleaning up the hut's kinda enjoyable. Skipper: Right again, little buddy. Gilligan: Preparing meals, that's kind of pleasant. Skipper: Exactly. Gilligan: That was a fun game. What do we play next? Skipper: The game called "Back to Scrubbing the Clothes."
Lovey: Haven't you ever heard of Lysistrata? Gilligan: Yeah, isn't that a mouthwash?
Lovey: Oh dear, isn't there anything left? Skipper: I'm sorry, Mrs. Howell, but Mary Ann and Ginger are on strike. Thurston: On strike? You get two workers together they'll organize every time.
Thurston: I'm sorry, we're late for breakfast. Lovey: Yes, you see, we're used to having breakfast in bed, served by our butler. Thurston: That's after his butler serves him breakfast in bed.
Ginger: I've already broken eleven nails. Mary Anne: Eleven? Ginger: I broke one twice.
Mr. Howell: Who else has been calling my wife Lovey?
Theme of episode: No man is an island, nor is any woman.
The title is a pun of the famous story, "St. George and the Dragon."
Lovey mentions Lysistrata and says that it's about women ignoring the men. This isn't entirely correct. It's about women denying men sex until they stop the war. But obviously they couldn't say that on TV back then.
