    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • In the final scene when the wind picks up, be sure to look for a 2x4 that holds up the fake tree when the weeds are blown away.

    • QUOTES (6)

      • Professor: Come on, folks. Let the Skipper sleep.
Thurston: Well all right, but he'll never recover if you molly coddle him.
Professor: Mr. Howell, have you seen the bruise on his head?
Thurston: Have you seen the bruise on that tree? It's horrifying. I ought to notify Smokey the Bear.

      • Gilligan: The Skipper sure is depressed.
Professor: Yeah, I wish we could find a way to cheer him up.
Gilligan: I know. Let's give him a surprise birthday party.
Professor: Hey, that's a great idea. When's his birthday?
        Gilligan: Last month.
        Professor: Last month?
Gilligan: Yeah, it'll be a big surprise.

      • Skipper: Did you bury him in the right place?
        Gilligan: Kind of.
Skipper: What do you mean, kind of?
        Gilligan: It's close enough.
        Skipper: Next to the pit?
Gilligan: Well it's sort of kind of next to the pit.
Skipper: Gilligan, did you bury Kona, or did you not?
Gilligan: He's better than buried. He's lost.

      • Professor: Skipper, little earthquakes are not uncommon on these volcanic islands. The underground gases exert pressure on the substrata formations causing shifts in the geological striations.
        Gilligan: Skipper, I agree.
Skipper: Gilligan, how could you agree? Did you understand what he said?
Gilligan: No, but it's the way he says it.

      • Skipper: Whoever disturbs [Kona's] rest is cursed forever.
Gilligan: Thanks for taking over the digging, Skipper.

      • Professor: This is a wonderful way to protect our food supply. It'll be cool down there.
Skipper: Yeah, Gilligan promoted a steamer truck from the Howells. Figures he'll put the food in it and drop the whole thing in the pit.
Professor: Well it's a wonderful idea. You two men deserve a lot of credit.
Skipper: I can't take any bows this time, Professor. These are all Gilligan's decisions.
        Gilligan: All except one.
        Professor: What was that?
Gilligan: He decided I could do the digging.
