Episode Recap

When Luke's Uncle Louie dies, Luke takes on responsibility for making sure he gets the respectful memorial Luke's dad would have wanted for him. Unfortunately, Louie was a jerk. So the rest of the town isn't interested in cooperating in the effort. Lucky for Luke that he has Lorelai. She takes over at the diner while he makes funeral arrangements and accompanies him to the funeral home and graveside. All this makes Emily think the two of them are much more than friends, and she tells Lorelai as much. Emily has been spending her time "helping" Sookie plan her wedding. Lorelai warns her friend of the dangers of entering Emilyland, but Sookie thinks she has it under control. Then Jackson comes to Lorelai worried that their perfectly agreed upon plans have been left by the wayside. When Lorelai confronts Sookie and hears reports of dancing midgets and giant mushrooms, she knows it's gone too far. Sookie soon realizes she's right and begins to cancel her international wedding supply orders. Emily is hurt that Lorelai ruined her fun, finally being able to plan a wedding, even if it's not Lorelai's. Rory has been spending much of her time dragging Jess into helping Luke, too. When she is pouring coffee and serving eggs, the least he could do is show up. He does, under protest of course, but when the town finally comes together in Louie's memory, Jess has a hand in helping out. And Rory is quick to point out his neighborly act. Meanwhile, Taylor is pushed to his breaking point when a farmers' market opens across the street from his market.
