Nothing big happened here but I still loved the episode. It just had a very believable and realistic tone to it, especially in Rory's story. Lane and Dave's plans are getting more creative and I look forward to seeing more of this. I find it funny how Mrs Kim has no idea, makes it even more entertaining. I also like how Lane is trying to like Jess for Rory, shows she's a good friends.

As for Jess and Rory themselves, he isn't doing very well, is he. He never calls which understandably annoys Rory and after some persuasion from Lorelai she goes out anyway. I found both Lorelai's talks with Jess enjoyable here, when he turned up at the door assuming she's be home, her reaction was great. Jess's 'I don't care' attitude could get him in trouble soon.

The game itself was entertaining, they I'd the meeting your ex boyfriends new girlfriend thing very well and I liked seeing Rory be jealous. I'm not sure what I think about Lindsey at the moment, doesn't seem very Rory like. Is Dean realising that things aren't going to great with Jess, because Rory didn't exactly hide it from him.

She obviously wasn't okay with it but I liked her voice message to Jess, but then he turns up and she tells him not to listen to it, amusing. What I didn't get was why she lied about seeing Jess after, that was weird. The thing with Lorelai's gran Trix was funny, it was entertaining to watch Emily be so annoyed by her but even better when she was smug about witnessing the kiss.

Her singing in front of Trix friends was funny and it was hilarious when she told everyone of the kiss. Then there was the good scene where Emily apologised to Trix, nice scene. but then it was really funny when Emily ranted her way up the stairs. She was brilliant throughout the episode. It was also good to have Richard and Lorelai share a funny moment 'Just do it'.

So this was another brilliant episode of the show!
  • After a bad Monday night, all I needed was an episode of the Gilmore Girls and I'm glad I saw it.

It was really funny, specially the part when Emily enters home and sees Trix with that man!

    I couldn't stop laughing!!!

But firsts things first. The hokey team is going to the semi-finals and Taylor invited all his family.

We have some news, Lane is having a date with an Korean boy, the guy is her male version lol, and Dave is jealous.

Dean has a new girlfriend and Rory is cool about it.

Rory and Jess are having some communication problems so to speak, the whole "I call you later" but doesn't thing.

That phone call she made was great, she said everything she wanted but I saw the next scene coming...

And again, Trix's "affair" with the man with the jogging suit.

Finally Emily had something on Trix, a secret, a way to humiliate her. Lorelai tough her not to say anything but Trix doesn't forgive a critic and Emily couldn't keep it.

If I was Emily I also would be sick and tired of hearing all those critics...
  • Jess doesn't call Rory which leaves her mad.

The Doose clan invades the Inn for their family reunion; Trix comes for a short visit and drives Emily crazy until Emily finally finds something scandalous to hold over Trix's head; Lane and Dave cook up a fake-date scheme with Young Chui to get Mrs. Kim to allow Lane to date Dave, but neither Young Chui's real girlfriend or Dave is immune to a little jealousy; the Stars Hollow High hockey team reaches the regional semifinals for the first time in 40 years and everyone not attending the monster truck rally turns out to cheer the team on and endure Kirk's hopelessly inept play-by-play; after Jess's too laid-back attitude about going out leaves Rory sitting home alone for most of the weekend, she takes Lorelai's advice and heads for the hockey game, where she discovers that Dean has a new girlfriend.
  • Jess always tells Rory that he will call her later. She gets mad when he doesn't call so she goes to a hockey game with Lane and she see's Dean with his new girlfriend.

Lorelai's inn is holding the Doose's family reunion. Lorelai is getting frustrated knowing their is alot to do around the inn. Rory and Jess are having their first major problem. He keeps telling her that he will call her later and they will hang out so Rory waits around the house waiting for him. Lorelai tells Rory that is no way to be treated and she shouldn't wait by the phone waiting for his call. So she gets sick of it and goes to the hockey game where Lane is at. She sees Dean there. While they have their half time Rory and Lane go get a snack and when they come back they see Dean kissing Lindsey (his new girlfriend) Rory is a little upset but doesn't show it. When the game is over Rory walks outside and sees Jess waiting to take her to a concert (The Distills). She agrees. Meanwhile back at her Emilys house she walks into her house and sees Trix kissing a man in a jogging suit. When having a gathering at her house full of Trix's friends she blurts it out. She gets mad at them and finally at the end of the episode she forgives her because she sees she does that to Emily too. End of Episode.

Rory waiting for Jess to call, then when she takes Lorelai advice to go out that Dean is now dating a new girl. Lane goes out on a date to make her mother happy and makes Dave jealous, and her dates real girlfriend. Emily sees her mother-in-law kissing some guy and tells everyone and Richard does not take it well. In the end it turns out that Jess was working more to get Rory tickets to a concert and Lane and Dave kiss. Emily and Trix start to have an understanding, for a while at lest. When Lorelai tries to talk to Richard about his mother he ends up laughing and is all right with that.

i thought that this episode was really great. i thought that it was really funny that rory was sitting around waiting for jess to call and not going out to do something. i think that it was really sweet of lorelai to coach rory to go out and do something rather than watching tv. i thought that it was really unusal to see rory go to the high school hockey game she doies not seem that sporty to me. i thought that it was really funny that lane was argueing with her pretend boyfriend's girlfriend about lane likeing him even though she likes dave. i think that it was really funny that lindsay seemed to have a problem with rory and she did not know why until her and lane seen her kissing dean. i thought that it was really great of rory to leave a message on jess's machine but i did not like the fact she told him to erase the message.
  • Good episode.

In this episode we get to meet Taylor's family aka the Dose clan. All I can say is that his family is weirder than him, and his brother, so rude!

Rory ends up spending most of her weekend at home waiting for Jess to call after she thinks that they had plans for Friday night. When on Saturday evening Lorelai calls & finds Rory home she convinces her to quit waiting for Jess to call & to go to the hocky game & enjoy herself. While at the game Rory finds out that Dean now has a new girlfriend & Rory seems to be upset.

There wasn't much Luke this episode, Lane is a genius with her fake date & as always Kirk was hilarious.

And I can't forget Emily & her mother in law. I just love how Richards mother is driving her crazy & love Emily's reaction when she saw her making out with a guy in a purple jogging suit & Nikes. And most of all I love how (against lorelais advice) Emily spilled the beans on her mother in law and told everyone about the makeout session.

Lane: "Dave is the coolest, besides Jess."

    Yeah, sure, whatever Lane.

Remember when you gave up something good for something else that everyone kept telling you was going to be bad for you? You did it anyway, and then later you found out that you made a huge mistake and that things were nothing like you thought they would be. In other words, the honeymoon is over.

Previously on Gilmore Girls: Jess got punched out by a swan and was a jerk to Rory. Emily was having in-law troubles. Rory scared Lorelai by telling her that she did think about having sex with Jess.

This week on the Gilmore Girls, Lorelai and Rory risk indigestion for their Friday night dates, Rory spends Friday night cleaning her keyboard, Grandma Gilmore continues to rattle Emily's cage, Kirk knows nothing about hockey and neither does anyone else, Lane goes on a fake date, Cute Dean moves on and Rory seems less than impressed with Jess.

After Jess stands her up not once but twice, Rory is urged by her mother NOT to be that girl that waits by the phone for her boyfriend to call. One might wonder why Rory doesn't pick up the phone herself and give Jess a call - her reason, "because he was supposed to call me"...yeah whatever. What is this? The dark ages or Gilmore Girls!? Rory spends most of the episode moping about the realization that Jess is NOT Dean. When she finally does go to the hockey game and gets mad enough to actually phone Jess and leave an angry message on his answering machine - the man himself is standing outside the stadium with tickets to a concert. Several things about the Rory and Jess dynamic in this episode bothered me, first of all, I find it really hard to believe that Rory would not pick up the phone and call Jess right away to find out what was going on. Secondly, and this is a constant irritation - Jess. The boy is too smug, too insensitive and frankly I think Rory deserves better. Third, one grandiose gesture cannot make up for all the inconsiderate stunts this guy has pulled. The fact that Jess doesn't know how to treat his "best girl" is blatantly obvious, and by the end of the episode it appears that Rory might be seeing the forest for the trees.

It was interesting to watch Rory's reaction when she discovers that Dean is dating someone else. With the loss of her security blanket, the reality of having Jess as a boyfriend starts to look pretty harsh. As far as Cute Dean goes, I'm happy that he has moved on, the bruise to Rory's ego is probably a good thing.

Elsewhere in Stars Hollow, Lane goes on a fake date with her Korean MamaLane approved "boyfriend". She explains to Rory that she and Dave are doing this as part of a larger plan to get MamaLane to realize that Dave is the only boy for her daughter. While Dave appears to be fine with the arrangement, jealousy rears an anxious head when Dave runs from a gig at MamaLane's to the stadium to check on how things are going. As always, it's great to see Lane and David and here's hoping that we see more of them in future episodes.

Over at the Gilmore mansion, Emily has her hands full with her mother-in-law, but thanks to a hilarious twist of fate, Emily gets the goods on Granny. Marion Ross reprises her role as Richard's mother and her scenes with Kelly Bishop are terrific. This week, the two women seem to reach some common ground and understanding, which probably won't last too long, but hey, that's what family is all about.

What else is great in this episode?

-Lorelai's scenes with Jess, I'm amazed at her restraint. If I were her, I would have punched that boy a long time ago.

-Kirk in his new role as a hockey commentator.

-The man in the purple jogging suit.

-The Christian Trio during their hymn practice.

    What's not so great?

-Rory constantly pining and whining about Jess when she should have been trying to catch the Cute Dean Express...looks like that train has left the station.

-Jess being Jess. It's getting so OLD. I cannot believe that they are going to give this guy a spin-off. The only good thing about this is that I can now look forward to Rory and Jess: the final 15 minutes.

-Taylor and his annoying family reunion filler. I would have much rather watched Luke pick up groceries for the diner.

Rating: Overall, not a bad episode, she shoots she scores and the puck hits Jess in the other eye! Sigh...I wish.
