  • Rory must get the Yale paper out on time and at Friday night dinner things get heated. I liked the episode, but the actual fighting wasn't what I was expecting.

The last ten minutes were entertaining but they certainly weren't what I was expecting. It was good the way it skipped from argument to argument but I personally would have preferred just one good old shouting match at the table. Anyway moving on, Paris is still annoying everyone on the paper, forcing most of them to quit.

When things get rough Rory must step in to get the paper out on time. This was entertaining and I liked seeing Rory get in control. Paris was funny, nothing new there as she's probably the funniest character on the show. Logan also jumps in to help and after much hard work they pull it off, leading to Rory and Logan getting back together.

This was good I guess, but there is something about Logan I'm still not sure about. Also Lorelai must deal with Luke spending time with April and it doesn't help that the whole town knows. Luke doesn't get that Lorelai is upset, I hope he gets it soon.

So down to Friday night dinner, it was amusing and it was great to see everything out in the open. I liked the end, Friday night dinners are back!moreless

  • Lorelai deals with cancelling wedding plans, and Luke's relationship with his daughter. Paris finally loses it at the paper and Rory steps in. Logan helps save the day. Friday night dinner becomes a classic Gilmore fun fest.moreless

This is one of the best episodes of the 6th season. The Gilmore Friday night dinner is classic. The camera work, the editing, and the writing of the reunion dinner of the feuding Lorelai, Rory, Richard and Emily is a tad out of character for the show, but it finally speeds things up (in an impressive way) in a season that draws some story lines out to an unimpressive degree. While the April character gets better in the 7th season, her addition to the show comes terribly close to jumping the shark. I'm a tad disappointed by a lot of seasons 6 and 7 and the downturn in the witty banter that makes the show so unique, but the dinner scene in this episode has all the Gilmores back in full form. It is hilarious that the Yale Daily News apparently has more staff than most major dailies. Also, Paris is a full-time student running a daily newspaper? (again, a tad unbelievable). These realities aside, Paris' breakdown is really quite wonderfully done.moreless

I think that the fighting scene between the Gilmores was ABSOLUTELY terrible. The weird angles that they were doing with the cameras just made the show look so ammature, like a youtube video. I think that they were trying to do something different, but it was just not traditional Gilmore Girls. I HATE that scene with a passion. This was, by far, the worst episode of Gilmore Girls yet. I am a Gilmore Girls ADDICT, but I am SO ashamed of this episode... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .moreless

  • Dinner with the Gilmores.

    "Perfect"
This episode included one of the best Gilmore confrontations. The dinner scene at the grandparent's home was simply hilarious! All four Gilmore's got their differences out on the table. First, Rory tells Richard and Emily that she wants her father to pay for Yale. Emily laughs and the fight starts. Emily brings up the pool house, then Richard and Emily fought over why Emily would buy a airplane time share, Lorelei and Emily argued about why she should have married Christopher when she was pregnant with Rory. Then they are all in the living room laughing at what Emily and Richard said to the Huntsberger's. Especially, what Emily told Logan's mother at the DAR benefit. A little more fighting and the Gilmore's are left exhausted and speechless in the livingroom.moreless

This episode of Gilmore Girls, Friday Night's Alright For Fighting, is my favorite episode. I think that the dialouge and the camera work during the family dinner was wonderful. Season 6 is a really depressing season with Lorelai and Rory not talking in the beginning and the end of Lorelai and Luke's engagment. But this episode lightened the mood. The family dinner and Paris' breakdown was hilarious and definetely classic moments. Season 6 has a lot of out-of-character episodes, but this episode set the series back on track with it's witty banter and fast paced dialouge, even if it's only for one episode.moreless
