"Haunted leg"
Original airdate: October 1, 2002
Directed by Chris Long
Written by Amy Sherman-Palladino Emily is still upset that Lorelai and Christopher can't get it together and, well, get together. So upset, in fact, that she has a chat with Christopher about it. Lorelai is not pleased by that, to say the least, and it makes her more than a little suspicious when Christopher shows up at Friday night dinner to yell at her for not wanting to talk to him. While he's at it, he yells at her for Rory not wanting to talk to him. The good news that Lorelai and Luke are again chummy enough that he can needle her for her coffee habit again doesn't quite make up for the bad news on the Christopher front. And being asked out by Kirk doesn't help either. But she gracefully turns him down without hurting his feelings. Meanwhile, Rory -- who is still with Dean -- is nonetheless angry that Jess is still with he overly blonde Shane. She confronts him about it (or as close to confrontation as Rory can voluntarily come) and he points out the obvious: She has no right to question the company he chooses to keep after ignoring him the entire summer and not breaking up with Dean. At Chilton, Rory's vice-presidential duties include convincing Paris to acquiesce to Francie's desires after a bathroom chat with the power queen convinces her it's in everyone's best interest. Or at least in her and Paris's best interest.
