  • A revealing episode where the Lorelai/Christopher marriage takes another hit. Not great but still good.

    8.0
    "Great"
This is the aftermath episode, nothing ever seems to happen in these ones but at least it was entertaining. It was very interesting to see Luke and Logan rush to the Gilmore's side but Christopher was no where to be seen. This was extremely horrible on his part...but then luckily I think he just missed the calls somehow...however his reaction to Luke who had been nothing but nice was just plain wrong place, wrong time.

For gods sake Christopher your wife's father just had a heart attack...and you're bringing up a fight that shouldn't be relevant...very petty and immature. That annoyed me and probably lowered my score somewhat. What I did like was Emily and Lorelai bonding...the formers devastation was done really well.

I found the Logan/Rory stuff to be kind of boring...I never get the business talk.

Overall the episode wasn't that big...Emily was very funny and Luke showed what a nice guy is...Richard survived and will be fine...but that's really about it.
  • The entire episode takes place at the hospital because Richard had a heart attack.

WTH is Chris doing not showing up at the hospital to support Lorelai? I just don't get it, it seems so out of character for him. When you love someone, it doesn't matter how angry you are, you are there for them when they need it. And Lorelai really needed him... When Chris' dad died, Lorelai was there for him. And when he finally shows up, he's angry because Luke is there!?! And Lorelai is just to weak to do anything about it, she doesn't really stand up to him, and just lets him be angry with her... Thank god Luke was there. This marriage is soooo over IMO...!
  • Lauren Graham shines as producer! Richard's at the hospital and he needs emergency surgery to remove a blood clot in his heart. His worried family are by his side, dealing with Richard's health crisis and their own problems...

Lauren Graham shines as producer! Richard's at the hospital and he needs emergency surgery to remove a blood clot in his heart. His worried family are by his side, dealing with Richard's health crisis and their own problems...

Lorelai is constantly calling Christopher and telling him to meet her at the hospital. Disappointed and somewhat heartbroken, she makes sure no one mentions Christopher. Lorelai is relieved when Luke shows up at the hospital, after hearing from Babette what happened to Richard. Emily grabs him and asks Luke to run an errand for her. Logan shows up to support and care for Rory as Lorelai looks at their relationship in awe. Emily asks Logan and Rory to go back to the Gilmore mansion to pick up some things Richard would want when he wakes up.

When Richard was sick last, Emily and Richard were unprepared. Throughout the episode Emily is constantly calling banks, and buying fish. She seems to ignore Richard and worry about money, their finances and fish. An upset Lorelai confronts Emily about why she's ignoring Richard. A crying Emily reveals to Lorelai that their marrige is about Emily taking care of Richard, and in her own way, she's taking care of him by making sure they are financially prepared for anything that might happen to Richard. Lorelai takes a lesson from Emily about what marrige is; caring for your spouse and being there for them in the time of a crisis. Lorelai calls Christopher and tells him all this, that it's not okay for him to be away and angry at Lorelai.

Christopher FINALLY comes to the hospital and sees LUKE giving Lorelai food he made for the Gilmores (awe!). Luke leaves upon seeing Chris as Chris and Lorelai have a small fight. Then Chris rushes off to tend to Richard. I say pretty good. Chris is an idiot for not tending to Lorelai. Sookie sent over baked goods to the hospital, Micheal wished Richard well, Babette took care of Paul Anka. Even people who have a friend based relationship cared for Lorelai, except Chris.

I feel Paris should have called and wished Rory well. Lorelai had people call her, it would have been nice to see a small cameo of a very worried Paris reassuring Rory.
  • Great episode. One of the better ones this season.

You know, sometimes I wonder why I hate Christopher. He is not really ugly, he can be funny at times and he and Lorelai have a certain connection. But then this episode came and it was like oh yeah that's why I can't stand you. You're selfish and when your wife needs you the most, you're not there for her. And it doesn't matter you had a big fight and you are sure that you where right (which he wasn't but that's a whole other story I'm not getting into right now.)you suck it up and you be there for her, like Logan was there for Rory. I'll admit I'm not a big fan of Logan but I liked him in this episode. So overall it was a great episode. But Christopher really has to stop pissing me of.
  • Richard's in the hospital, Luke and Logan are there, but where's Chris and why is Emily so crazy?

    8.5
    "Great"
Richard has a heart attack and goes to the hospital. Wait, wait, no, this is not season 1's 'Forgiveness and Stuff', this is season 7! Even tough a lot was different, it was kind of boring because, well, we've seen that.

Emily is just insane, worried about dinner reservations and Richard's will. Tough it did get a little too much, it was a great opportunity for us to see what an amazing actress Kelly Bishop is. She just mastered Emily's craziness with her worry for her husband. And her scene when she cries in front of Lorelai was just really great.

Even tough I hate Logan, I'll admit he was kind of sweet. Plus, we got to see Richard's study and that paiting of Rory reading they did so long ago!!! I missed that! =)

Luke was also really cute, he just loves Lorelai so much, it's adorable. But the end was really painful, with Chris getting there and seeing him and Lorelai talking. As much as I love Christopher, he should've been there for Lorelai, no matter what. He's her husband.

Not the best, not the worst. I'm not really excited for the next one, I don't want to see Lorelai and Christopher's end.
  • We've known it all along but, just in case you weren't sure, Chris is on his way out...

I wanted Lorelei and Luke together. When the writers dragged out their romance and paired Lorelei with Chris, I did turn traitor and hoped they'd (L&C) be together. The scene where Luke tells Lorelei they just didn't fit made sense. Maybe they just didn't. Clearly, though, this relationship (taken way too far by the writers) has run its course. I don't care what you are arguing about...when your loved one is going through something as harrowing as this, you come! Bottom line! Logan was there, playing the part of the devoted boyfriend. Luke was there, doing his part (even though he shouldn't considering the treatment he's gotten from the senior Gilmores). Chris was nowhere to be seen and, when he does show up, it's only to broach an argument over Luke. Swallow it and argue later. Not in the hospital. Did the writers really need to villify him like this? Who knows? But, at this point, any L and C fans are probably shaking their heads, thinking, "Ok...back to L and L." As for the two, Emily behaved just as I'd expected. Keeping as busy as possible is a form of grieving. The final moment where she breaks down, as only Emily can, in the shop, and Lorelei is there for her...it's a sign of more bonding between the two to come.
  • The end of Lorelai and Chris.

    9.1
    "Superb"
Okay, I have to start with saying, where in the world was Chris? This was definitely the show creators trying to get us to start *really* disliking Chris to prepare us for the downfall of their relationship. Which is crazy. Why go through all the break-up of Luke and Lorelai and immediately put her with Chris just to have it end within the same season? I am confused, but their plan of getting me to dislike Chris worked. I am a firm believer that Luke and Lorelai are a great couple, but I always thought that Chris was a good second best. Which is why I was fine when Luke and Lore broke up and she started dating and then married Chris. It was always that 'Oh, wouldn't fate be so awesome, putting those two together after all they've faced' kind of things. And I've always adored Chris, despite his flaws, he's a man. But, this episode makes me happy that the marriage will quickly be ending in divorce. What was he thinking not showing up at the hospital until late and then wanting to get mad because Luke was there being the support that Lore needed. He had no right.

Here, Luke shows up, run errands for Emily and then cooks and brings dinner. Whats her husband doing? Who only knows! Like I said, now I am ready for their relationship to end. This was inexcusable. Bye bye Chris, so long, you are turning out to be a loser. Dont let the door hit ya.

Now, onto another revelation, for me anyways. Rory has Logan, he is a rock and their relationship might actually be worth shipping. This is the first time I am really starting to think that maybe those two really should work out. I mean, he was there for her. Dropped everything to be there, borrowed a helicopter, is supportive and caring and has an open ear and helps take Rory's mind off of it when she needs it. I mean, in all the ways a person should be there for someone, Logan was and more. It was mushy as hell, but isn't that what you would want?

Summation: Logan is turning out to be a really great guy, Chris sucks and I want Luke back.
  • Lorelai and Emily bond, Logan and Rory make you wanna barf, and Zach starts trying to bond with Luke.

    8.2
    "Great"
This reminds me of the first episode where Richard is hospitalized, for angina. I guess he didn't learn his lesson and it progressed to a heart attack. The whole Christopher disappearance is kinda weird because even Rory doesn't know where he is and usually she knows what's going on with her dad if Lorelai doesn't. I also kinda threw up in my mouth with all the Logan and Rory overly sweet interaction. I'm waiting for Logan to do something bad...after all Rory likes the bad boys. I personally am annoyed by him but maybe if he starts acting like himself I'd appreciate him better. I don't believe that his rebellious side has disappeared. I like how Lorelai and her mom are begrudgingly getting closer it's nice to see their characters developing. It seems like comparitive to the first hospitialization of Richard, Rory and Lorelai are drifting away from each other and Lorelai and Emily are finding an uncomfortable closeness towards each other.
  • Ok... why Chris?? Really??? When Max is getting back?

I gotta tell you, i was once a big fan and supportive of the couple LORELAI & LUKE... but i got over after 7 seasons...

But this just couldn't get worse... I mean, since she can't or won't be with Luke, we might as well find her a new lover...

Christopher? He's a jerk, not funny, not grumpy, not trivia fan... what's with that guy?

Even Medina were a better man then he'll ever be... c'mon... give us something new!
  • They already had this plot before...

    9.6
    "Superb"
I loved the episode, but they already had this, basically the exact same plot. In first season, Richard had to go to the hospital, Lorelai was having a dispute with somebody, and Luke helped out and drove Lorelai to the hospital and stayed there to make sure everything was all right. In this episode, Richard colapsed, Lorelai was having a dispute with Christopher, and Luke drove to the hospital to check in on everything and make sure Lorelai was alright. I thought that was so sweet of Luke, and Christopher was a HUGE JERK, but I still loved the episode!
  • Richard is in the hospital for open heart surgery. Emily, Lorelai and Rory cope with the situation in their own ways. Logan and Luke are there to help. Christopher is M.I.A.

    9.8
    "Superb"
This episode was brilliantly acted by Lauren Graham and Kelly Bishop. Emily busies herself with the mundane activities of her day to day life in order to cope with the illness of her husband. Once again they show their deep love for each other. Lorelai copes with the situation stoically and by herself... as always. She looks for the support of her husband but once again Christopher was true to form. He did what he does best...disappear. One tries not to be too judgemental but he has never been there for Lorelai when she really needed him. One could argue that he was there after her break up with Luke but he clearly took advantage of her when she was so vulnerable. His interest was purely opportunistic which doesn't quite measure up to supporting her in her time of need. He married her on the rebound and punishes her because he doesn't want to be the rebound guy. Typical Chris. Luke was also true to form. When Lorelai was in need, there he was. He was sensitive to the fact it might be awkward but was there to help if he was needed. Logan was also there but it felt more like he was using the situation with Richard to avoid a difficult business problem. He was sickeningly sweet. Something is up. We will probably find out next episode. Whatever it is I hope it is the beginning of the end for Rory and Logan. He is a charming suitor but not right for Rory. It didn't go unnoticed by Emily that Chris was not there. I expect she is on the cusp of realizing with whom Lorelai should be. Hopefully she can put aside her 'old school' beliefs and let Lorelai follow her heart.
  • Whatever the issue Lorelai´s, Luke is there for her.

    9.7
    "Superb"
The episode is another example of how Luke is always on Lorelai´s side, and how Christopher is jealous again because of him. With Richard at the hospital because his heart attack, Rory, Loreali, and Emily have to stay together watching for him.

I think, sooner o later Lorelai is gonna changes her mind about her difficult marriage, and realizes that she has to be with Luke, not with Cris- I´m sorry- but it´s not a good relationship, because Christopher can´t live knowing that Luke is always there when Lorelai needs help, and he is not.

Again, very good for Logan, who is always there too, when Rory needs him.
  • Again, Rory is there when Richard collapses and calls Lorelai from the hospital. Lorelai again hestitates to before going in to see her father. Again, Luke is there for Lorelai, and Emily again sees it.

    9.1
    "Superb"
I know that the writers need a way to show that Luke is better for Lorelai than Chris and that her heart really isn't in the marriage, and crisis always brings out true emotions, but this was just too repetitive. Yes, this time Logan was there to help Rory, and Richard joked around more, but the plot was eerily similar. I guess I shouldn't be complaining too much because this means the end of Chris and Lorelai. It just could have been executed better, and not full of realizations. It was better than episodes earlier this season, but besides that, not too much else to it.
  • some thoughts on show, future development and possible spoiler

    "Great"
The GilmoreGirls are slowing down but it's still ok to watch the show. Lorelai&Chris&Luke triangle soaps out the whole show. Emily's line/craziness was predictable and a bit overdone. The show is missing parallel storylines with Lane, Zack and the rest. Surprisingly, They are trying to tell us how important Stars Hollow in Lorelai's life and we are getting a very little of it(who was it? Babet and dog joke, Luke, weird conversation with Sookie and Michael). and I guess it is not Alexis Bledel problem but rather story writers don't know what to do with Rory's character transforming it into a sugary filler.

    *Possible spoiler*

finally, nobody mentioned but Logan is about to make a very risky business move using his money/trust fund to buy another internet company. sounds like troubles are forthcoming

I love this episode! The sight of chris coming to the hospital to see Luke and Lorelai talking and laughing is priceless and it was sooo good. Emily was excellent with her pragmatic ways...she was hilarious. Her asking Luke to run errands was cute especially when Lorelai was like 'Mom!' that was cute... Logan was excellent in this episode especially when he kept reassuring Rory that the one place that he wanted to be right now was with her and shes all that mattered to him,... thats exactly what Chris should've said to Lorelai... he was a jerk in this episode and i felt really bad for Lorelai... she deserves better... she deserves LUKE!
  • Hard times for the Gilmore family...

    "Great"
What happens when Richard is sick? Although it was not my favorite Gilmore Girls episode I loved how each one of the characters showed their personality.

Emily is a person who wants and enjoys being in control of everything, but this time she can't. Her copping mechanism is trying to deal with things she can control at the moment. It was great to see her breakdown; the actress did a fantastic job as always.

When we first saw Lorelai & Rory on the hospital you couldn't tell how much worried they were, with their fast talk on strange topics, but just a simple action *not hungry* told us how they were feeling on the inside.

I love Logan more at the moment. He was the perfect guy who doesn't care what is happening out there, he just has to be with you and take care of you.

The interaction between Lor/Luke was awkward, it’s sad to see how people who used to be the best friends have such a strange relationship right now. But hey! That’s life, and that happens ALL the time. The important thing here is that no matter what happened on the past, you are there when it counts. And in this moment Lorelai needed him.

And where was Christopher? I really think he must have a really good explanation. Christopher always had a good relationship with Lorelai’s parents and I really don’t think he wouldn’t care about what was happening.

And thanks for bringing Michelle back! I don’t care if it was for just a moment, I love that character ;)

This episode wasn't as good as I was hoping it would be. It had it's good moments. I loved the rory/logan cuteness, I can't believe he borrowed a helicopter to be with her. I love him! I want one! I was hoping for more fireworks with the Loreali/Luke/Chris confrontation, but I guess it was ok. Anything that puts dents in the Loreali/Chris match is alright by me. They have to break up right now!!! There was some nice moments with loreali and rory too. It's a rare day indeed when they're not hungry! Emily's meltdown about Richard was heartbreaking. I usually hate her but it was really sad. Can't wait for next week.

I love Gilmore Girls but in this episode was so in and out. It had parts that were classic and fun Gilmore Girls, like Lorelai and Rori deciding on something to eat but it just seems like they are steering away from all the reasons people like me watch the show. I want some more fast talking and funny fights.
  • This was so predictable!

    4.7
    "Poor"
After Christopher threw a hissy fit and stormed out and Grandpa collapsed everyone knew what was going to happen. Luke would come rushing to Lorelai's side and Chris wouldn't. I kept wishing that exactly what I thought was going to happen, wouldn't, but of course it did. The episode was simply annoying!

At this point I don’t care who Lorelai ends up with, I just want her to pick one and stick with it! All this melodrama is unworthy of what was once such a great show. They made Luke a jerk last season with the whole April thing, while turning Chris into this great guy – and now they seemed to have changed their mind, so Luke is the great guy again and Chris reverts to being a jerk. If things don’t get better soon I’m giving up on the show. At this point I’m just clinging to the memory of what it once was.
  • WHY?

    "Terrible"
What is up with this episode? i can see that its kinda needed to move the story along with luke and lorelai and chris. but i was so board watching it which hasn't happened ever with this show. there wasn't really any deveopment. and havent we done the heart attack story allready (season 1) we know Luke cares about Lorelai. We know Emily would be a mess without Richard. That Chris is an ass and Rory copes with a crisis by keeping busy. this episode is just so below the usual standard for this show. if they dont pick up the standard again soon im gonna whish they ended the show a long time ago.
  • Rory, Lorelai and Emily spend the day at the hospital awaiting news on Richards condition. Logan comes by to lend moral support & Luke also makes a visit helping with errands and bringing food. Christopher is conspicuously absent almost the entire day.

    8.1
    "Great"
I don't know about anyone else but Christopher's juvenile insecurity is really starting to bug me. When is he going to grow up and act like a man? Is he that much of a self-centered drama-king that he needs to continually create these tension filled situations? Get over it! He said that he couldn't deal being the 'rebound guy' but he was the one pushing for marriage. Also, expecting Lorelai to disregard and disrespect someone who has been a friend to her and father figure to her child for more than 10 years is completely out of line. Grrrrr!
  • Doesnt Alexis Bledel look like she is ready for this show to end?

    5.0
    "Mediocre"
I literally fell asleep. Dont know if it was a mixture of Lorelai calling an unresponsive Chris, Emily having a weird respone to Richards heart attack, or Rory's bad acting(people, I have always defended Alexis Bledel's acting, but this was bad). Plus Logan and a helicopter? wow....

Did like Luke's interaction with the Gilmore gang. He is a welcome surprise. Thought Zach was humorous as usual. Miss the town people, nothing new. Nice to see Babette, where is Miss Patty or did she appear after I fell asleep. I know GG has a huge devoted fan base and I guess since I still watch every Tues that includes me. But really only the first five seasons are excellent, it went down hil after the Lorelai/Rory fight and that stupid kid April appeared.
  • Wait up, it's got to be Luke and Lorelai very soon again!

    9.0
    "Superb"
I can't believe that Christopher didn't come earlier and when he came he was - so it seemed - mad that Luke was already there. What is he expecting? Richard has a heartattack and he doesn't even show. Luke needed no asking, he was just there to help and stand by them as he has ALWAYS done. And it's so great, because once again Lorelai realized that Luke's a great guy. I just hope they'll get back together soon. The marriage with Chris doesn't stand a chance.

I loved Logan in this episode, he was finally the sweet caring boyfriend again and put aside all his work stuff. I hope they'll stay this happy!

And I hope Richards is getting well soon. Btw: I loved the scene with Emily's breakdown!
  • Who does Christopher think he is? In her moments of need -- where is he? Comforting Lorelai ... being a rock to his daughter? As if he would put anyone first over his own silly needs! And who is he to tell Luke to leave?

    9.5
    "Superb"
If anything came out of this episode it was that Lorelai's eyes were opened wide ... to Christopher's selfishness in not being there for her or Rory [after all he may have argued with Lorelai but it was Rory who suffered the most in seeing her grandfather have a heart attack and it would have been nice if her father had appreciated that fact!] ... to the fragility of her mother's world in that Emily may seem harsh and uncaring but it is the only way she can deal with her life - if anything happened to Richard she would be lost [well until she found another one]!

... to how kind right Logan is for Rory [although I wouldn't be surprised if he is after Rory putting up the $2 million he needs to complete his deal!) ... to Luke - how he is ALWAYS there when she needs him without question, just kindness and support and that now is the time to ditch witless Christopher and grab wonderful Luke once and for all!
  • I didn't really like this episode.

    8.2
    "Great"
I don't think this was a good episode. Or even a Gilmore Girls-like episode. It was all around Richard being in the hospital, but they didn't really deal with it (except for Emily). And I didn't see the point Chris being upset. I mean OK, Luke was there, but he wasn't, and he didn't even listen to Lorelai, so she could have explaied it. All I see now, is that teh writers want to get rid of Christopher, but they don't really know how to do that. I think if Luke would have hugged Lor as Chris arrived, that could have been a starting point. But I don't like series, where you always know what's gonna happen next. And Gilmore Girls is starting to be like that.
  • Nothing seems to be going Lorrs way...

    9.0
    "Superb"
This ep. really buged me. I mean, I'm a fan of the show, but it seems like it's all falling apart at the seams. why can't Lorr get her ducks in a row? And why is Chis soooo stupid. Of course she just can't forget Luke, but is'nt it funny how the table has turned. Last season or two seasons ago, it was Luke that walked away from Lorr because he was jealouse of Chris. And having men just walking out on her, seems to be something Lorr will have to live with. The deal with Richard and Emilie I did like. Their relationship is really nice and now you get to see it up close. Richard is so far out of the woods.

When it comes to Rory and Logan, you that thats just an accident waiting to happen. He's going to loose all his money and it will all blow up in his face. Rory will find someone else and that is so sad. And it feels like hes not telling her everything.

    And where is Lane?
  • Richard is in the hospital after a heart attack. Lorelai, Emily, and Rory are then with him. Logan comes, by chopper, to comfort Rory. Luke comes and does somthing nice for Emily. Richard, after surgury, is doing very well. Later, Chris finally comes.

This was a good episode, but left some things to be desired. When Lorelai got the call from Rory telling that Richard was in the hospital, she didn't tell Babette about anything. Then, she tells Luke about what Lorelai told her. It doesn't make sence to me.

I also thought that it was out of character. Luke doesn't like Lorelai's parents, but goes out of his way to help them, its nice, but it doesn't seem like Luke. Also, I wasn't totally convinced that Lorelai and Rory were even sad about the whole ordeal. Other than that it was great. This episode just proves even more that Logan and Rory are perfect together.

What is it with (most) you people and Christopher?

As I see it, this episode showed how madly Lorelai wants her marriage to work and how hard Christopher is making that for her. Of course he wouldn't look at the Luke-Lorelai-moments from an objective point of view, but that's just natural.

Speaking of which: Both of them, Chris and Lor, have no idea what a marriage is supposed to be like, but they have a history together and Luke seems to be (sorry all you Luke-lovers) just the guy acting the way Chris should be doing. Always in the wrong place at the right time. Emily said it twice by now: marriage is hard work and commitment.

Of course the writers are to blame, because this will go on and on for another eight episodes and hopefully they're going to sell their decision - which one it is going to be - well...

At least for the last to eps you didn't feel like tuning out (without doing it obviously).

I'm sorry to say that I don't see a bright future for this show. It reeks of "last season" to me. Again, like I said in my last episode review, it seems forced. I don't know if anyone noticed but Alexis Bledel seems to be forced to act in a way that isn'nt "Rory-like", she doesn't feel like herself lately. Now, Bledel is a good actress and we've seen her do more than well for the past 6 seasons, what's the problem then? I don't know but I'm not liking what I'm seeing right know. Of course I'm going to keep watching the show because you never know if something could make me change my mind. I just have to state that it's looking very bad. And have any of you heard the fact that they're thinking of going for an 8th season without Rory? I think I don't have to state the ABSURDITY about that.
