Rory and Paris are sitting on the couch eating Chinese food, commiserating on their respective break ups of that evening. A knock at the door makes them question whether or not they actually ordered the pizza they were talking about but it is Logan wanting to talk to Rory. Rory tells Paris she doesn't want to talk to him so Paris goes to the door to deal with him. Paris puts heir Huntzberger in his place as only she can…
Paris: (As she continues to block the door) You, Logan Huntzberger, are nothing but a two-bit, spoiled, waste of a trust fund. You offer nothing to women or the world in general. If you were to disappear from the face of the earth tomorrow, the only person that would miss you is your Porsche dealer!
Logan pushes past Paris. He insists on talking to Rory just as Doyle enters the room still wearing the coat Rory gave him at the bar. He insists on talking to Paris and the scene turns into Blake Edward's night in New Haven. As Doyle attempts to speak to a rather combative Paris, Rory agrees to talk to Logan outside the apartment. Once again he is able to doubletalk himself out of the trouble he is in. Although Rory isn't entirely convinced his indiscretions were completely innocent, she agrees to return to his apartment. When she goes to tell Paris that she is leaving, she is shocked to see that Paris and Doyle are engaged in a rather carnal reconciliation in the living room.
In Luke's apartment, Lorelai comes out of the bathroom upset about a rather large spider in the bathroom. While Luke takes care of the spider, (which turns out to be several spiders), Luke tells her about his call with April. April has asked him to chaperone a class trip to a national math contest to which her school is going. Luke comments that it is uncharacteristic for her to call him; it is usually he who calls April. Lorelai suggests it is a good sign that she is calling and encourages him to go. He decides he will go and takes the spiders outside to a nice shady spot as per Lorelai's request.
At Zach's apartment, Lane and Zach are helping Brian move back in. As Lane leaves to go to work, Brian asks them what is going to happen to him when they get married. Zach explains that he will just move into Lane's room but Lane suggests maybe they should get their own apartment. Zach considers this and ponders how marriage will change their lives. Lane also asks him when he is going to speak to Mrs. Kim. She asks him if he has prepared some clothing for the task. Zach confidently reassures her that he has everything under control.
Lorelai enters the diner to find Luke at the counter sewing up an old duffel bag. After mocking him mercilessly for his threadbare bag, she offers to go shopping to get him a nice new one. He rejects his offer even after Lane joins in the fun. Lane looks out to see Rory approaching the diner and rushes out to greet her. She shows her the engagement ring that Zach gave her and they jump up and down screaming in excitement. In the diner, Lorelai notices the squealing outside and turns to see Rory is there. When the girls come back in to the diner, Lorelai finds out about Lane's engagement. She also finds out that Luke knew about it and forgot to tell her. She congratulates Lane warmly. When Lane goes back to work, Lorelai turns her attention to Rory. She finds out that Rory is living with Logan again, that it was just a misunderstanding. Lorelai holds her tongue but she seems concerned. Luke comes by and announces that he is making them s'mores to the delight of both Gilmore girls.
At the Dragonfly, Rory is working at her computer at the front desk, while she talks on her cell to the paper. Michel is glaring at her obviously displeased with her presence in his space. When she gets off the phone, Michel begins to berate her for using his neon Post-its. He explains that she has interfered with his system. Fortunately for Rory, Lorelai comes in and saves her from the rest of his lecture. Annoyed with the two Lorelais, he leaves for his break. Lorelai and Rory get ready to go to their movie. Just then Emily calls Lorelai for directions. She and Richard are unable to get their GPS speaking English and are lost. Lorelai makes an off hand remark about them stopping by next time they are so close and to her horror, Emily tells her they still can. Lorelai tells them they shouldn't go out of their way but inadvertently mentions that Rory was there. At that point, they cannot not be deterred and announced that they would be in Stars Hollow at 4:30 p.m.
Zach enters Kim's Antiques dressed in a coat and tie. He is carrying some papers. He sees Mrs. Kim but pretends to shop. Mrs. Kim notices him; she seems unaware that Lane and Zach are back together as she suggests he may be accused of stalking. He finally gets up the nerve to tell Mrs. Kim that he loves Lane and wants to marry her. He begins to giver her the financial details of his job at Quest Copying and promises he can take care of her. She looks at him sternly and verifies that he is a musician and that that is what he wants to do with his life. She asks to see his demo to make sure he can provide for Lane. She reminds him not to tell Lane he wants to marry her yet as she doesn't want to get up her hopes. Zach leaves to get his demo, looking a little dejected.
Lorelai and Rory are rushing around the house, cleaning up and hiding anything that may draw criticism from the elder Gilmores. Sookie arrives with trays of food. Unfortunately, Sookie brought all Lorelai's favorites…mac and cheese, taquitos, chili fries and little hot dogs. Sookie renames the food…pasta à la Sookie, bellinis and bratwurst so that the elder Gilmores will not be offended by such common food. The chili fries will just stay chili fries.
Emily and Richard arrive and Lorelai survives the inevitable criticisms and inspection. At dinner, Sookie's renamed junk food is a hit. Of course, Emily is once again unhappy that Lorelai keeps so much from her…
Emily: So, Lorelai. A new dog, a new bedroom, a new bathroom. It's like a whole new house.
Lorelai: Except that it's the same house.
Emily: It doesn't look the same. It's lucky we had your address. We would have driven right by.
Lorelai: Well, I was waiting until it was all done to show you!
Lorelai tries to convince Emily that she was just waiting until everything was finished to invite her over to see it. While she is chatting away, she answers the door to find Luke there. Without a pause, she whispers to him that her parents are over and without skipping a beat he turns and leaves. Finally Emily and Richard leave and both Lorelai and Rory breathe a sigh of relief. They begin to plan their movie evening when Rory sees an ad for luggage. She asks Lorelai if she is in the market for new luggage. Lorelai tells her about Luke's trip with April and his tattered duffel bag. They begin talking about April and Anna. Rory asks her mom what she knows about them…
Lorelai: Not much. Apparently she's incredibly beautiful, she grew up here, she owns a store in Woodbridge, and Miss Patty thinks she was Mata Hari in a former life.
Rory: What kind of store?
Lorelai: I don't know.
Rory: Hm. Hey, I have an idea. A really good idea.
Lorelai: Oh, you have evil face.
Rory: No. We should go to Woodbridge and go to her store!
Lorelai: What?
Rory: Yeah! She won't know who we are. We can just go in there and see what she looks like.
Lorelai: No.
She explains that Luke has asked her to keep out of it and she is going to respect his wishes. She changes the subject to the movie they are planning to see.
They next day they are walking through the square talking about the horror movie they just saw. Lorelai asks Rory if she wants to come to the Inn to hang out but Rory tells her she has some errands to run. Rory passes by Zach playing his guitar. Zach looks a little stressed.
A little later, Rory enters Anna Nardini's store and wanders around observing Anna and her customer while pretending to shop. Rory and Anna exchange a few friendly words and she purchases a vintage stewardess bag.
Kirk is running his real estate business out of the Dragonfly. While Lorelai talks to him about what he is doing, he lets it slip that Emily and Richard are looking at real estate in Stars Hollow. Lorelai is horrified at the thought. She has a very worried look as she chases Kirk out of the Inn.
Rory comes to the Dragonfly later with a bag in hand. Lorelai gives her the horrifying news about Emily and Richard looking for a house in Stars Hollow. Rory tries to give her hope by suggesting that perhaps Kirk is wrong. To distract her from her worries, Rory gives her the present she has in the bag. Lorelai loves it until she finds out that it is from Anna's store. Lorelai is angry that Rory went Anna's store after she told her not to. Rory tries to pique her interest in the Nardini's but Lorelai refuses to talk about it. In frustration, Rory takes back the bag.
At Kim's Antiques, Zach is playing his song for Mrs. Kim. Mrs. Kim is listening thoughtfully. Zach looks at her hopefully when he finishes. She tells him he's close but the last part of the song is not quite right. Zach is discouraged but Mrs. Kim suggests he change to a minor chord on the last line of the chorus. Zach tries a couple of minor chords till he hits the right one. He is very excited that they have finally written a hit song. Mrs. Kim moves into the house with Zach trailing after her. She calls Lane down and lets Zach propose. Before he puts his ring on her finger, Mrs. Kim gives her a ring from her grandmother. Lane thanks her sincerely. She gives Lane and Zach fifteen minutes to talk and leaves them alone.
Lorelai and Rory enter the diner still talking about Final Destination. Lorelai notices a new duffel bag on the counter and asks Caesar about it. Caesar tells her it is Luke's and Rory tells her she saw that exact bag at Anna's one-of-a-kind store. Lorelai is a little disturbed with this knowledge and goes upstairs to talk to Luke. They make small talk and Lorelai stands there expectantly…
Luke: You okay?
Lorelai: Wha- sure. Great. (She continues to stand there.) So I see Papa's got a brand new bag.
Luke: Huh?
Lorelai: I saw your snazzy new luggage downstairs.
Luke: Oh, right. Anna sent that over.
Lorelai: Oh, wow! Coinky-dink, huh?
Luke: Well, we were talking about April's trip itinerary and I guess I mentioned that my duffel bag's falling apart, and the next thing I know, she sent the thing over.
Lorelai: Aw, that's nice.
Luke: Sure, it's fine.
Lorelai: You know, I was serious when I said I would go out and buy you new luggage. I'm nothing if not a gifted shopper.
Luke: Oh, I know that. But it's here, so.
Lorelai: Yeah, it's here. (She seems a little sad.)
Luke: So this doesn't bother you, does it?
Lorelai: What?
Luke: That Anna sent me the bag, because I can send it back.
Lorelai: Oh, no, no. It's cool. (Her body language says yes.)
Luke: You sure?
Lorelai: Yeah. I'm fine. So, I should get back down.
Luke: Okay. I'll be by in a minute.
When she gets back to Rory, she tells her that Luke explained everything and all is fine. Things clearly are not fine, however.
Rory gets home to New Haven to find a worried Logan Rory has been avoiding his calls all weekend but she just tells him her phone died and she didn't have the charger. She heads to the shower. Logan watches her knowing she still hasn't forgiven him.
