    • When Lorelai and Christopher are sitting at the table in Luke's diner, there is a bowl of fruit in front of Lorelai. As the scene progresses and the camera angles change, the bowl constantly moves positions. Also, in some frames a coffee cup is next to the fruit but is missing in others.
    • When Lane asks Rory to pick up the new single for her she says she tried Amazon but they wouldn't send it in a plain package. So why didn't she just have it sent to Rory's?
    • In this episode, Mrs. Kim tells Kirk she's known him since he was two. In "Last Week Fights, This Week Tights", Mrs. Kim tells Lorelai that she's been in this country for twenty years. This would mean that Kirk is either a lot younger than he appears or that Mrs. Kim met Kirk when he was two and then returned to Korea and stayed another ten years before coming to the States again.
    • Lorelai told Rory to clean her room because Sherry wanted to see it. However, Lorelai takes off her coat and tosses it into Rory's room which would mess it up.
    • When Lorelai and Rory talk about retiring their bagel hockey goalie, Schmitty, they say he's ready for Cooperstown. Cooperstown is where the Baseball Hall of Fame is. The Hockey Hall of fame is in Toronto. Possible Explantaion: Educated as the Gilmores are when it comes to music and movies, it is VERY possible that they do not know where the Hockey Hall of Fame is. After all, in season 3's The Faceoff, Rory clearly feels that eating excessive amounts of junk food is the highlight of any sports game, particularly hockey.
    • If, as Brad says in 'Run Away Little Boy', he tends to throw up when he speaks in public, why would he join the debate team? or for that matter appear on Broadway as in season three it is sated he is returning from starring in into the woods on Broadway.

Lorelai: Yeah she's a chic, good-haired, wrinkle-free, no-hose-wearing witch.
    • Rory: Think fast! (Rory tosses phone to Luke who catches it in mid-stride with no trouble) Lorelai: (to Rory) Whoa, impressive! Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Rory: What? Lorelai: Goalie for the bagel-hockey team. Rory: And bump Schmitty? Lorelai: Schmitty's over the hill, he's washed up, put him in Cooperstown. (to Luke) Suit up, kid!     • Lorelai: Yeah, she's a chic, good-haired, wrinkle-free, no-hose-wearing witch This is a reference to TV show Bewitched. Sookie and Lorelai were commenting that Sheri may be a witch and therefore Lorelai paraphrases Samantha from Bewitched's confession to husband Darrin that she is "a real house-haunting broom-riding cauldron-stirring witch" in the pilot episode, and also her similar admission to Darrin's boss Larry in the episode entitled "I confess" where she states that she is "a full-fledged card-carrying cauldron-stirring witch".
    • Luke: Or Outer Limits-y. Luke is refering to the show The Outer Limits which aired from 1963-1965. It was a science fiction program that was about subjects like hard science, space travel, time travel, and human evolution. It was also always questioning the nature of man.
    • Lorelei: She kept calling her [Sherry] "that woman"! This is an allusion on Elisabeth II, the queen of England, who used the same expression about her son prince Charles long time mistress (now wife) Camilla Parker-Bowles.
    • Rory (about Christopher and Sherry): Should we invite them to Luke's? Lorelai: Does she seem like a diner chick to you? Mädchen Amick (Sherry) starred in TV series Twin Peaks (directed by Mark Frost and David Lynch) as diner waitress Shelly Johnson.
    • Lorelai: Schmitty's over the hill. He's washed up. Put him in Cooperstown. Cooperstown is the location of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
    • Rory: What did she think? That you were gonna come home and find a rabbit boiling on the stove? In the climactic scene of the movie Fatal Attraction, Michael Douglas' character comes home to find that his stalker (played by Glenn Close) has killed his children's pet rabbit and left it in a pot of boiling water on the kitchen stove.

    • Rory: Oh, and later I pictured you marrying Matthew Broderick, and we lived in New York in this great apartment in the village and we would talk about his Ferris Bueller days. Matthew Broderick is a stage actor who starred in Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Producers.
    • Lorelai: Ah yes, the Gilmore family players rival the Barrymores for their sophisticated, dramatic productions. The Barrymores are a family of actors including Drew, John, Lionel, and Ethel Barrymore.
    • Christopher: I hear you're the greatest chef after Alan Ducass. Alan Ducass is one of the most famous chefs in France.
    • Rory: But I also pictured you with Pee Wee Herman. We lived in his playhouse and we'd be talking to Chairy and Captain Carl would be walking by. Paul Reuben played Pee Wee Herman in the 80s. His kids TV show Pee Wee's Playhouse was very popular and had characters like Chairy (a great plush, talking chair) and Captain Carl (played by Phil Hartman).
    • Lorelai: Sephora. We had it all planned out. National chain of all encompassing make-up stores.
    • Christopher: I'll have one of my patented White Castle bachelor dinners. White Castle is the oldest American chain of coffeehouse/burger diners in the U.S., recently made famous in the movie Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. Very similar to the "Krystal" burger joints in some areas, except a bit more diner-esque. The diner Susan Sarandon works in the movie "White Palace" is a stylistic riff, too. White Castle works mainly by being cheap, remotely-decent, and open 24/7. There's a good Wikipedia article on them, if you're interested.
    • Rory: Well, having company is about making sacrifices. Lorelai: Martha Stewart? Rory: I paraphrased Proust. Martha Stewart is the domestic guru whose empire includes a magazine, a television series and a line of housewares. Marcel Proust was a French author and essayist.
    • Lane: There's a new Belle and Sebastian single coming out today. Belle and Sebastian are a Glasgow music duo.
    • Paris: Let's not harbor any Pinteresque fantasies. A famous English playwright who is famous for his use of silence moments in his plays.
    • Paris: For the average Willie Nelson roadie. Willie Nelson is a country singer and occasional actor who has been involved in the various Farm Aids.
    • Rory: Not the Two Fat Ladies again. An English cooking show, starring Clarissa Dickson-Wright and Jennifer Paterson, in which they travel the country in a motorbike and sidecar and cook local dishes. Unfortunately, the popular series was cut short due to Jennifer Paterson's illness and death from lung cancer.
    • Lane: My mom's done everything but slap a Dr. Dre ankle bracelet on me. Founding member of the rap group NWA and a producer of Enimem. He was sentenced to house arrest and slapped with an ankle bracelet in 1996.
    • Lorelai: Yeah, duck Harvey. Refers to the play that was later made into a movie starring Jimmy Stewart about a man who believes he has an invisible companion, Harvey, a six foot rabbit.
    • Lorelai: Or we could sit in the corner, you know the mafia table, so that no one can come up behind you and whack you with a cannoli. Rory: Whack you with a cannoli? Oh, because he left the gun and took the cannoli. Reference to Pete Clemenza's line of dialogue in The Godfather: "Leave the gun. Take the cannoli", made just after the murder of one of his associates.
    • Rory: No two people know more about assisted suicide than the two of us. Kevorkian called today for a couple of tips. Jack Kevorkian is the nation's most visible proponent of physician assisted suicide.
