  • Lorelai finds out about April and Logan tries to win Rory back with gifts. Brilliant episode, she found out......I feel sorry for Lorelai.

    "Perfect"
This was an all around brilliant episode, we had the humour with Paris at the Yale daily news, the drama with Lorelai finding out about Luke's daughter April and the unknown as Logan finally gets Rory to talk to him meaning they could get back together.

I'll start with the big thing in the episode, Lorelai's discovery. Obviously Luke should have told Lorelai by now and its even worse when he's relieved that he won't have to tell her. She goes in the diner anyway and talks to April who soon lets the whole thing slip, not knowing who Lorelai is or that she doesn't now.

I did feel for Lorelai but it was made worse when Luke liked the idea of postponing the wedding, which they decide to do at the end. Luke also gets a lecture from the girls mother Anna bout being a parent. Luke is mean to do this, it is still a few months away.

Paris was hilarious as she always is in the show. The whole system she had for the Yale Daily news was just so funny. The board with coloured magnets, the numbered hats because she couldn't be bothered calling them by there names. It was a great storyline, Rory finding her co-workers talking about letting Paris go and then trying to talk to Paris.

Paris's speech at the end was great and I hope she remains editor, purely for entertainment reasons. Now moving onto Logan, he seems to know he's let Rory down and is trying to make up with her. Sending the coffee cart around was amusing. His conversation with Lorelai was interesting, I really wanted to know what was in her note to Rory.

In the end, Rory says she will ring Logan and they can maybe meet up. It seems Logan may be growing up, so I'm interested to see how there relationship will work out a second time. This was a brilliant episode and sets up for the second half of the season very well.
  • How could Luke do this to Lorelai?

    9.0
    "Superb"
I really love GG but this episode broke my heart and Lorelai’s, she was almost crying and I felt so sorry for her. If a guy I was going to marry did something like this to me, outside and among people, without any explanation or a good talk-throug I would immediatly start to cry. Maby this action would be out of character but, Luke has been more of a talker these days and I don’t understand how Luke can do this to Lorelai, especially as he gave her a really hard time about being “completely honest” with each other. These things should apply both ways. Objectively this episode was a 9 on a scale of 10, but subjectively a 1, because of the circumstances in the episode. I’m not at all fond of April, both concerning her acting skills and her character in the show. She is ridiculous and I must confess that I fast forward the scenes she’s in because of her terrible acting, annoying voice, the stupid helmet and so on. Why did they cast a person that lisps? Oh my God it’s annoying on TV. (Not in real life though) It seems that the writers are trying to give us a new Rory, but we already have a Rory. Rory, if she existed in real life, would be a really cool person, never a dork (like April is). In Sweden people that know a lot about literature, care about world issues, politics and so on are not seen as nerds, they are called \"allmänbildade\", it translates well-read or well-informed, although that is not the correct translation. Hence Rory is not a nerd or dork, but an interesting character. A girl with self-respect would never wear a helmet like the one April is wearing, maby Kirk would, but never in this life time would a 12 year old girl do so... It is just unfortioned that the writers had to take the storyline to this level. Now I can never approve of L&L together in the show. Because of two reasons, first Luke has a child, and you can never undo children. If he shouldn’t take his responsibility I wouldn’t have any respect left for his character and as you have seen I really dislike April, so that is not an option. He has to continue the contact which in this case means that April is hanging on. Second the way Luke treated Lorelai, without any visible sighn of feeling sad, it just makes me think that Lorelai is to good for him.

(I’m sorry about spelling and grammar mistakes, but I don\'t have English language control on my computer.)
  • Lorelai finally finds out about Lukes daughter.

I thought that this was a really great episode and I loved every minute of it. I thought that it was really funny that Luke made plans with April and then tried getting out of it because he was afriad of Lorelai running into April. I thought that it wasd really great that Lorelai did end up running into April and finding out who she is, how long that Luke has known about her. I think that Lorelai's idea for the winter carnival was cute and i liked that Kirk thought that it was a bad idea and put the supposed really thing next to her fortune telling booth. I knew it though i knew that the wedding would be put on hold that they would not get married it was to good to be true.
  • Really good episode.

I watched this episode about 16 days ago, so this is all from my distant memory.

I thought that Lorelai's reaction (to April) was going to be more dramatic, but her reaction was still priceless. At the very end, at the festival, Luke has been waiting for Lorelai and Rory to get back together for so long so that they can plan the wedding, and now he agrees to postpone the wedding! I mean he has more than 4 months to get use to April in his life. Anyways, it's not like April is going to disappear when they get married (IF they get married) she's still going to be around and Luke can get to know her then. He has all her life to get to know her and get used to her, why do they have to postpone the wedding?

The coffee cart that Logan gave to Rory was really funny. And I like how Rory just let the coffee cart follow her around all day. I'm really glad that the YDN staff held a meeting about Paris. Paris is getting crazy. I mean numbered hats? A chart to know where everyone is??
  • Luke is being really unfair to Lorelei.

    9.1
    "Superb"
In the beginning of this episode, Luke still has the burden of keeping a big secret from Lorelei: the fact that he has a daughter. At the time of this episode, he\'s known this for two months and keeps on putting off telling Lorelei. Instead of coming out and being honest with her, he just avoids the subject completely, even though he previously agreed to keep \"no secrets\" from her. In this episode, Lorelei finds out about Luke\'s daughter, April, the wrong way: she sees April in Luke\'s diner and talks to her. Even though Lorelei is shocked at first, after awhile she tells Luke that they can work around it and that he\'s lucky to be with a woman who\'s raised a kid herself.

However, Luke behaves in a very inconsiderate way. First of all, he shouldn\'t have waited so long to tell Lorelei. She takes the news of his daughter very well and is helpful, but even so, Luke tells her he is \"overwhelmed\" and must postpone the wedding. Lorelei is completely heartbroken over this, since she just spent a long time planning the perfect wedding. Reluctantly though, since she loves Luke very much, she agrees.

Meanwhile, Rory is being stalked by Logan, who decides to apologize and wants to get back with Rory. Rory at first tries to stay away from him but eventually agrees to go to dinner with him with a little pushing from Lorelei. Also, the winter carnival is happening in Star\'s Hollow, and Rory and Lorelei make a fortune telling booth with their dog, Paul Anka. Lane, in the meantime, is still bitter about her breakup with Zack.

this episode was great dramatic and funny i love gilmore girls for this reason it can take sumthing dramatic and turn it funny great show and great episode first of all there was The thing about this episode that stood out for me was the tension created by Lorelai finding out about Luke\'s daughter Rachel. You could just see how cut up she was, but in true Lorelai style she put Lukes needs before her own. I couldn\'t help but remember the ultimatum Luke gave her about keeping secrets and now what does he do. Her face when he took her up on her offer to postpone the wedding was heartbreaking.

The Tuesday that this episode aired I was in the hospital. For the entire day from 7:00 in the morning to midnight that night I was stuck in a hospital bed in severe pain in my stomache. This episode watching it in my hospital bed made me feel so much better. Zach, Luke, Lane, and Paul Anka stood out in this episode.I also liked the title of the episode Like Gwen and Gavin because I really like Gwen Stefani and her music and her husband gavin rossdale rocks hard.Gilmore Girls references are so great and they make me feel good because I know what their talking about. Earlier in the first season I had no idea what they were talking about. This episode was awesome.

This episode was full of the brilliant humour that I love about Gilmore Girls. No matter what the episode, Lorelai always lights up the screen. This episode was no exception.

This is an ok episode. but it does contain important bits of information. Luke finds out that he has a daughter named April. She is about 12 years old. He is not sure if he should tell Lorelai yet. This is the perfect plot. Two people are getting married then one finds out he has a child from another lady. Its so great. This is a good episode from the season. It might get some people to watch the show on a regular basis.
  • In this episode, Rory tries to evade Logan's desperate attempts to get back together with her, Luke acts strangely, and Lorelai finds out about April!!

OK, I only just watched this episode last night when it was on a rerun, and it was amazing!!! I loved the scene with Luke and April in the park- it was so cute!!! It's so sad that Lorelai find out about April the way she did- I wish Luke had just told her, and maybe they wouldn't have postponed their wedding!! When Luke was talking to Ana about being all in or all out, I definately agreed with Ana- Luke can't be an on-again, off-again father.

Logan leaving all of the flowers and getting a coffee cart guy to follow her around all day was kind of cute, but seeing as how I don't like Logan, I just found it a desperate attempt. I couldn't believe he went to Lorelai, and that Lorelai actually starting warming up to this guy!! I don't think Rory should have been avoiding him- I think they needed to get their issues out on the table, but then break up for good and move on!!!

The winter carnival was very cute- I especially loved Lane's booth; it was so typical Mrs. Kim!! The Amazing Doggy Swami thing was cute too. I loved how jealous Zach was of Lane's uncle; that definately showed how much he still cares for Lane!!

Overall, this was a cute, funny and extremely pivotal episode to this series that cannot be missed!!
  • I call this episode adventurous and exciting mixture of intrigue, an emotional roller coaster ride that's making my heart dizzy waiting for each new instalment in this season.

Contrary to some mixed feelings about April, I have to say I like her, she is the youngest cast member and she's really, really cute and Luke trying to be a Dad adds to Dan and Amy's writing humor, and Luke is finally a dad that no one could ever in their wildest imaginings expected to see happening on the show.

With every successful show, and the season is near its end there is always that moment of anticipation of something that's about to happen that's supposed to surprise everyone and, well Dan and Amy have found a way to do that. As much as I love the idea of Luke and Lorelai finally tying the knot and have their forever afters, it was just too soon.

The writers were smart to know that it would have been too easy to have this wedding soon after Rory's return so they had to come up with a great show stopper (April) and throw it "in the mixing bowl" for this season which is supposed to totally freak us all out and it is working.

Although it drives me up the wall not knowing what's in the future its also what makes me want to keep watching. The Gilmore Girls are special, and while mom finally gets her dream Inn and Rory's finally back at Yale with Dad paying and no strings from the grandparents, their next biggest challenge now is the men in their lives, Luke and Logan.

The girls have always had to battle and fight for what they want, they have high standards and so it makes sense that their battles for Luke and Logan or it could be Jess will be interesting and exciting and we all know they will get them in the end, question is when and can we trust the writers to deliver on their promise for another great season?

This episode could have been better.

Luke spends some quality time with April, and she wants to come & spend some time with him in the diner. Lorelai comes in & starts talking to April & finds out from her that she's Lukes daughter. Lorelai is shocked to find out that Luke has been keeping this secret from her for 2 months.

Logan goes to Lorelai and asks for her help to get Rory back. She writes her a letter & Rory agrees to have dinner with him.

Rory & Lorelai talk about April, & Lorelai starts to feel better about the whole situation until Luke says he wants to postpone the wedding. Even though Lorelai agrees you can tell that she was heartbroken.

I sense some problems between the 2 in the comming episodes.
  • Obviously not the serie\'s best episode, but overall a very cute and funny episode that is important to the series.

\"Just Like Gwen And Gavin\" is an episode dealy mainly with Luke\'s large secret of his daughter April and his upcoming marriage to Lorelai. As Stars Hollow gets prepared for the fair festivities, Luke tries to take time to bond with his daughter and realizes her unique personality and intelligence after a trip to the park. April and Luke next venture to Luke\'s Diner, where Lorelai soon shows up. April reveals that her father owns the place, and lorelai figures ut that Luke has a daughter. After approaching him, and obviously distressed, she is consoled by Rory, who is absent for most of the episode. Lorelai and Rory enlist Paul Anka (the dog Lorelai adopted) as a \"Doggie Swami\" while Taylor hates the idea. Rory,Lane,Zach, and the others are mainly filling characters.

I think that if I had never known my father and that he wanted to get to know me would be great...so, in that respect I am happy for Luke and April that they have each other. She needs that father figure and Luke likes to be needed. It was a good match...the only better match was Luke and Lorelai and that was from day one. I am so dissapointed with this episode, mostly because things didn\\\'t exactly work out to well...everything was going too perfect though, so I should have guessed it would turn out badly. Luke should have told Lorelai and he should have taken the hint that she really didn\\\'t want to wait on marriage. Luke is a jerk and I am extremely upset with him. Lorelai should have been more foward with her feelings though. Rory needs to get over Logan...he\\\'s a rich Play-(with girls\\\' hearts)-Boy...This episode sucked!

I think this episode was pretty good. I felt so bad for Lorelai after she found out about April. It was very shocking to her. And Luke says he wants to postpone the wedding!!!!! Even though Lorelai agreed, I can tell that she was sad and hurt. I hope Paris eases up on the staff. She is going way over the top. I mean hats with numbers??? Thats crazy!! I know Logan hurt Rory, but I hope they really make up because they make a cute couple. He loves her and she loves him. Thats sweet and I think they're getting closer. Even though it was humiliating for him, I think Logan did a smart thing by going to Lorelai. Can't wait till next time!!!!!!!

Lorelai finally meets April. Rory gives Logan another chance. Old Paris is back and in charge of the paper. I have to say I did not like how the episode ended. Two months have gone by and Lorelai finally runs in to April by accident. Luke is a coward. I like Logan and hope he is back next year.

Luke´s little secret goes out in this episode. Young April innocently tells Lorelai the truth. Who is astonished, but yet at the same time not as freaked out as she could get.

In Logan's desperate attempts to have Rory's attention, between others, plays a surprise visit to Lorelai.

Meanwhile, town's preparing for their annual fair. Where things take a small turn in this year's festival.

The Yale Newspaper unsuccesfully tries to stop their editor (shall i say commander Paris?)for getting all the rules she wants.

In behalf Zach finds himself threatened with a new Corean guy, he shouldn't be afraid of. Mrs.Kim plays one more surpise for the delight of all.

It's true that nothing is revealed for us but it's undeniable that things change here for the Gilmore Girls. Lorelai learns that Luke has a daughter. That might be quite difficult to get, true, but doesn't it just put them on the same path? Like, they both have daughters, so they can start a new family. And here is somekind of Goof: what is the thing about that Rory's door? the same key opens all the locks now? it wasn't like that last week!! and what is on that letter that Lorelai sent her that made her change her mind about Logan? Bet we'll never know, because even Daniel Palladino doesn't know what to say. But anyways, I love GG.

After weeks of waiting Lorelai finally finds out about luke's secret love child. But to tell you the truth I was expecting a bit more reaction to the news than what happened. When she first found out she was speachless and just said they would talk about it latter. Then latter on she just acted like it was ok and moved on with everything. Then Luke and Lorelai decide to pospone the wedding until a latter date, but at the end you see that Lorelai although acted find about it was kind of sad about the idea. I for one really do what Rory and Logan to get back together and in this episode it looks like there might be hope in the futre.
  • I was heartbroken.

    9.3
    "Superb"
Well I do love that Luke wants to be apart of April's life. I find April extremely likeable and I do appreciate Sherilyn Fenn as Anna Nardini. I know that many people say that they do not appreciate the story line at all. I am not one of them. I will never mock or blast a "responsible parent theme." I particularly loved when Anna tells him basically not to begin breaking April's heart by making and changing dates that they are supposed to spend together (diner). If Lorelai would employ the same no-nonsense attitude towards Luke then there would be no problems, whatsoever.

Logan and the flowers was trite and I was becoming sick of it. Logan and the coffee cart, was fricking hilarious and the best gift I've ever seen in my life and would implore all dog housed men to do the same. I also love how she was in a rush and just accepted the cumbersome coffee cart and cumbersome coffee man. And also how she gives people coffee at the Yale Daily staff meeting. I think that Paris Castro as the Editor is phenomenal and in keeping with her her character flaw of letting power go to her head.

Now to the heartbreak, misery and pain. Luke was such a chump when he tried to make sure that Lorelai wasn't coming to the diner. Doesn't he know that when you try to make sure that something doesn't happen that it immediately happens. It would be like saying: "Do you want coffee?" "No." "Are you sure you are not going to want coffee?" "Yes." "So, no coffee today?" "No, no coffee." "Ok, just making sure, bye!" "I think I'd like some coffee."

It was ridiculous and yet totally plausible. I also love Anna saying Lorelai didn't seem like a strangler. Because that was funny. I don't like the way he tries to explain himself either.

I believed Lorelai's breakdown in the kitchen, and also I believed the whole Gwen and Gavin comment. What I totally do not abide is the Postponing Of The Wedding! Is Luke crazy? Why did Lorelai even ask him that. I would have told him to get his shit together before our wedding in June. But alas, we have found a way in which Lorelai and I are not alike. This revelation has saddened me to my core.
  • Complications with provocations.

    6.0
    "Fair"
This episode's quite weird. Everybody seemed to be a little out of character -- as if they're trying a little too hard to keep up the Gilmore Girls Momentum.

The intros are getting really boring: no punch lines, just the theme song intervening somebody at mid-sentence. C'mon, Palladino, be imaginative! Immediately, I was upset to see Paris' apartment garnished with exotic flowers. Not because Paris' didn't take the first step and discard them, but because Rory didn't. C'mon, a guy offers her materialistic items (that she doesn't want or need) and she gives him a very icy cold shoulder. Yet she has kept all of Logan's floral gifts and kept them in eyesight. Maybe the writers are up to something about reconciliation, or maybe Rory just likes flowers.

April and Luke at the park seemed pretty weird. I thought that Luke helped Rory nearly grow up? He was complaining about that Christopher wasn't there for Rory and gave a list of what Luke has done for her (Episode 100: "Wedding Bell Blues".) Which gave me the impression that Luke was her father-figure while growing up. So why is Luke acting like he doesn't know what kids do? Luke nearly raised Rory himself.

The entire town gave KIRK the responsibility of the Winter Carnival?! Throughout the entire series everybody has "tolerated" his neurotic behavior to the point where they think of him as a pariah. Yet he has the huge responsibility of organizing the Winter Carnival. Kirk's funny, but his personality gets played out sometimes.

That whole coffee cart thing was ABSOLUTELY dumb. Ben exclaimed "I've already been paid -- a lot!" And Rory says "fine" as if her boyfriend isn't influencing her with money and materialism.

Zach is overacting more than Drew Barrymore, but I think it's pretty funny how he and Lane are acting pretty crazy: sporadic sentences and abrupt interruptions. It shows that the two need each other more than they know and (with no doubt) will get back together.

I'm not digging April's know-it-all personality. I hope she isn't a regular. April's condescending personality isn't needed on this show. We already have one know-it-all star on the show; we don't need two.

FINALLY, an interaction between Lorelai and Logan. I've always wanted to see that bad-ass character come out when somebody she despises faces her. Although, I would picture Lorelai scoffing him off and tell him to go to Hell after hearing "the old standbys" Logan offered her daughter. Wouldn't "old money" and "mom and dad" come into mind? Or maybe she hinted a little Dean in him and decided to eliminate that barrier.

Paris is going completely insane: charts, caps, retyping her rewritings? It's simply Paris. I love her character, if she can have control -- she wants COMPLETE control.

Little things tick me off. Like when Rory was reading the letter her mother wrote. She repeatedly told Logan to "shh!" after every other sentence. I thought when Rory reads she gets so engrossed she loses focus of all her surroundings? (An episode in season 1 or 2 focuses on is when Rory's outside reading a book and a group of people hurry to see a football goof-up. Later, a student comments on her reading skills.) That just irritated me a bit, and the fact Logan kept interrupting her. Just shut-up. You want her, remember?

The whole "that's just Lane's uncle" was pretty typical. Like something out of a Full House scenario. Obviously, I knew it wasn't her uncle, but I highly doubted that Lane picked another guy within weeks. This was certainly not needed in this episode.

Taylor is a bowl of fun and Jell-O.

Lastly, the whole finding out about the whole love child's a pretty silly concept, but I guess it could happen in the real world and we all have to coup with what the writers and directors allow to be on the air. Hopefully Lorelai WON'T marry Luke and listen to that nagging feeling she's been having since the dress and after kissing Luke at the very end of the episode.

    The End

  • Get on with it already!

    8.5
    "Great"
Don't get me wrong this week was better than last week, but enough's enough. I'm glad Lorelai finally found out about April, two months was a long time to go for Luke not telling her. I'm also glad Rory is finally dealing with the break up with Logan rather than pretending it never happened. But I am going to be so mad if she goes back to him. Logan is the worst thing for Rory, just look at what's happened to her since they've been together! Rory is supposed to be so smart, so why can't she see that he is not good for her? I am also not happy that Lorelai is being so closed minded about Luke wanting to postpone the wedding. Luke waited how long for Rory and Lorelai to make up to set the date? And Lorelai can't give Luke some time. It is also way past time to deal with Richard and Emily. These past few weeks everyone has been acting like they don't exist, and it's fine to see Rory and Lorelai doing that it's understandable, but the audience needs to know what's going on with them. In other episodes where one or both of the girls aren't speaking to Richard and Emily, we still have known what was going on with them. And we need to now, especially after Rory moved out, seeing their reaction is an important part of the show, and Emily buying a plane and not being seen again is not acceptable.

The writers need to get rid of this block or slump or whatever it is they are going through cause they will start loosing viewers soon.

When I say "Nothing Happened" I mean nothing I didn't expect well except for Paris giving everyone numbers in place of their names (*cough* Hitler *cough*). Lorelai is upset about April...dull. Logan trying to get Rory back...soap oprea-ie. Zack nearly stalking Laine and knocking down her uncles bottles...funny as hell but quite perdictable. I knew what was going to happen in the whole episode pretty much except for Luke post-poning the wedding that was a shock. I could ahve saved my time if they just said "Logan follows around Rory who agress to dinner finally. Lorelai finds out about April is upset and Luke post-pones wedding. Paris acts like Hitler again and Zach overreacts about Laine." The thing was bacicly a filler.

Okay, yes this was a good episode. Yes, I like that Logan is having to beg & I hope the powers that be won't let Rory forgive him too easily. Yes, I'm glad Lorelai finally found out about Luke's daughter...although the fact that she just accepted it so easily is quite strange. Actually, all of those storylines were just window dressing to the REAL story, which is the postponement of the wedding. Let's face it, up until now Luke has been pretty perfect. But last night he did a "typical male" thing. Lorelai offered to postpone (trying to be sweet and supportive, but NOT expecting him to say yes). Of course, I cringed when she offered and prayed that Luke would have the sense to say something like "Aw honey, that's so sweet of you, but I love you too much to wait any longer..." And I must admit I did scream at the TV when instead he said something like "Oh yeah, that would be great! Let's postpone it! Thanks!" And all Lorelai could do was stand there....looking crushed.

Well, the secret Luke has been keeping from Lorelei has finally come out. And yet there is more wedding drama. I am all for something that becomes a running story arc, but this wedding thing is starting to get a little bit old for me. Don't get me wrong, I love the whole thing, and I can't wait for it to actually happen, but the road to the altar is getting a little bumpy. Anyone else think so?. I know weddings don't happen over night, but the longer this story goes, the less interesting it gets. Like I said, I am ecstatic they are getting married and I can't wait for it to actually happen, but leading up to it is getting boring. Basically because they haven't really done anything to spice it up. Oh, some things get in the way, or someone thinks it's too soon, and it's postponed. Maybe it would be better if there was a little more oomph to the wedding plans. We know now that Christopher is coming back and he is supposed to figure into the wedding plans, so how many more times will the wedding have obstacles?. However, I have heard that Christopher's figuration into the wedding proceedings will not be what everyone thinks. This is what I hear. It won't be?. Could Mr. Deep Pockets actually help with the wedding?. Pay for the whole shindig?. I guess we will find out when the time comes. And then there is April. I adore April, and I will get to her in a little bit. So, this was a pretty good episode. Not as good as last week, but it was good. I'm happy whenever Stars Hollow is covered in snow and there's some big town thing going on. Anywho, on with the show. What happened?...

The episode starts off with Lorelei and Luke being awakened by Kirk and church bells. It's three in the morning and there is a town meeting. Taylor is in Maine and has called a meeting for the upcoming winter carnival. He won't make it back in time, but Kirk takes the reins and all seems well. Funny opening, but If I was awoken at 3 in the morning, in the cold, for a town meeting by Taylor, I would be taking that computer screen he was on and putting into a place where Taylor would be extremely uncomfortable. I'm just saying!.

But it's all about Luke, April, and how he hasn't told the woman he is going to marry about this new person in his life. Luke wants a relationship with April, and everyone seems to oblige him. He meets up with April in a park, and they set up another get together for the next day. April just wants to come and spend the day in the diner. Apparently, diners fascinate her. She is an interesting kid. Luke agrees, but seems to want to stop it later that night. He calls Anna and tries to get out of it, but she fights him on it by saying that he can't do that. He wants a relationship and now he seems to be backing out of it. He relents and agrees. But what if someone, namely Lorelei, comes into the diner?. Thankfully, Lorelei tells him that she will be too busy with her booth for the winter carnival and she won't come in. Perfect. But she does, and April is there. In a brief conversation with April, she learns everything. Luke spills the beans about everything. It's out. Surprisingly, Lorelei took it better than I thought, and it wasn't all "drama" as I was expecting. She is obviously stunned and not quite sure what to say or how to react. She tells Rory too. You can't help but bring up Luke's speech about honesty and trust a few episodes back. But at the same time, one can understand his predicament and why he held it secret for so long. This is huge. This isn't just some random news that comes into your life. One's head would have to be swirling and cloudy with such life changing news. He was confused and probably scared as to what this new development would do with the wedding to the woman he loves. It's perfectly understandable. You may of thought "tell her!" right from the beginning, but it's hard to imagine what one would do or think when put into such a situation. But Lorelei seems okay as she can be at the moment, and is willing to work on it. What she probably isn't okay with is Luke saying that the wedding date of June 3 is so soon. She suggests postponing it and he wants that. Poor Lorelei. Will those wedding bells ring before the series ends for good?.

The least interesting part of this episode is everything that happens with Rory, Logan, and Paris. Quite frankly, the very, very small part about Zack and Lane was more fun to watch. The crew at the paper are none too thrilled with Paris and her ways. Rory stumbles upon the workers having a secret meeting. They tell Rory that something must be done with Paris and Rory sits in on their meeting. When Rory brings this to Paris' attention, it doesn't do what everyone would of hoped it would of done. It makes it worse. Paris gets nastier about it and makes the office even worse. Needless to say, Rory's co-workers seem to be displeased with her. But Rory has other drama as well. Logan. He is still after her. He is so desperate that he actually goes to Lorelei for help. He's got stones, that kid. He seems to of gotten through, somewhat, to Lorelei, and he tries again with Rory. Lorelei wrote something in a letter about Logan(that he gave to her), but we never really know what. Whatever it said, Rory lightens up and agrees on having dinner with Logan. It's a start. Watching Paris be mean and funny is fun, but watching Paris just be mean and nasty is not. I didn't care for that part at all. I am so done with Logan as well. I don't care for him and find his actions with Rory uninteresting. I hope it doesn't last long.

So, this was a decent episode. Mostly for the Luke/Lorelei/April dynamic and the winter carnival. Taylor does make it back, and he spies on the festivities. But everyone knows it's him in the not so great disguise. Now that April is know and it's all out, who knows where it will take us. I really like April. The actress who plays her is great. You can't deny that fact. She is a very talented young actress. She fits right into the show and it's characters like a glove. This episode was pleasing and nice to watch, but with the exception of the April secret coming out, it was pretty routine.

They can't postpone the wedding. With the date set as June 3 it would have been at the end of the season just like Sookie's wedding, but if they postpone it than we would have to wait until next season to see the wedding. That totally makes me mad.

I love all of Logan's attempts to get Rory to talk to him. I truly believe that he is sincere and he really does love her.

    "Perfect"
IMO it was a good and informative episode.

    - Luke/Lorelai

Well it was about time Lorelai found out. Two months is just too long to keep this from Lorelai IMO.. And seriously right now I don't know what to think of Luke, I can't say I'm really mad at him but neither am I happy with him. He should have told Lorelai and the way she found out now was just aweful for her. Just to hear April say 'my dad owns the place' really shocked Lorelai, and right at that moment Luke stepped back into the diner. I could understand that Lorelai's reaction was like that outside the diner, that she needed to think about it. I do wish they had a better convo later in the episode, 'cause it was more about how Luke couldn't take it and not about how Lorelai really felt about it.. I didn't like his reaction to the fact that Lorelai suggested that they could postpone the wedding.. It was like he was all happy about that fact.. So I'm a bit on the should I/Should I not dislike Luke right now..

    - Lorelai/Rory

I liked their scenes even though there were only a few. The convo between them about Luke's daughter April was nice. Rory comforted Lorelai when she needed it and said the right things IMO, it was at least much better then the convo between Lorelai and Luke. Also at the doggy swami booth, I loved them... They look so cute with that dog! :D

    - Rory/Logan (and Lorelai)

My fav couple, Rory and Logan!! :)

I simply love all of Logan's attempts to make Rory talk to him. They need to talk about this and it's nice to see that Logan isn't giving up. Flowers, donuts, a coffeecart! It was great :D

And atop of that all, Logan visited Lorelai! I already read that in the spoilers but I couldn't wait to see how that would look on screen.. Lorelai's reaction to him softened as the conversation continued and I liked that. She even smiled slightly at the end of the convo when Logan said he hated his dad too.. I liked that :D

Also the letter, I really wonder what it says, when Rory came back home to talk with her mom about it I was really hoping that we would find out what the letter said, though I liked how impatient Logan was about the letter's content and how Rory ssh'ed him.. With the result that Rory agreed to go on a date with him.

So apparently Logan may have gotten some sort of seal of approval from Lorelai if the result was a date.. I'm happy about that and Logan looked fine as always.. :D

    - Lane/Zach

It was nice to see Lane miserable last week but it's also nice to see Zach miserable now, though Lane was a bit happier. Zach got all jealous and Mrs Kim was funny too... I do hope that they patch things up a little... they do make a cute couple :D

Also gotta love the 'Welcome to the SH, bitch!' line... aka also a pun on 'Welcome to the OC, bitch!' :) It was funny.. and totally unexpected.. :D

    - Paris and the YDN

Paris and the YDN is also a funny thing with all those caps and numbers and magnets to show Paris where you are located... And I'm number one! lol That was to be suspected. I'm positive that this isn't the end of this all, and that Rory will have more problems in the future with the YDN, though IMO when Paris became editor it was also to be suspected that this would happen... Paris can be a bit of a dictator sometimes but I love her for being like that.. :)

    - The Winter Carnaval

Kirk arranging the winter carnaval, the doggy swammi booth, Taylor disguised as Eminem's clone but pretending to be German-like.. It was funny and a nice addition to the ep IMO... Also that outfit looked adorable on Paul Anka!! :D

    - April, Anna and Luke!

And no matter how much drama this storyline is, I do not dislike Anna or April for that matter. Anna is nice and I like April's responses to several things. I also like the father/daughter scenes and how Luke attempts to spend time with her. Though it was weird how he tried to back out. Of course he didn't Lorelai to see April but then he shouldn't have agreed. What Anna told Luke was right IMO, he's a dad and he can't have April whenever it's okay to him.

So overall a good episode, though some dislike Daniel Palladino's episodes, I most of the time love the episodes, no matter what the outcome is, it's well written IMO and he's able to write good scenes for dramatic situations like here or fighting scenes in other ones.. He can pull that off and I'm happy with the result of this episode... Too bad there's no new ep next week, but I think I can manage.. :)

  • I know that this show is about dynamics and people, but I feel that putting things between Luke and Lorelai getting married is getting a little too much.

I know that this show is about dynamics and people, but I feel that putting things between Luke and Lorelai getting married is getting a little too much. I realize in most shows getting two people together can spell disaster, but the writers have shown that they can have a couple together and still make it interesting.

This episode left me very off kilter, which I believe is their intention since that's where Lorelai is right now.

Finally, am I the only one wondering what was in that letter?
  • April tells Lorelai she’s Luke’s daughter. Logan tries his best to win Rory back, even going to Lorelai for help. Zack get’s jealous of Lane’s uncle, but he doesn’t know the ‘Korean George Clooney’ is Lane’s uncle. And Paris is really turning into a femal

“Just like Gwen and Gavin” was not the best episode of Gilmore Girls I’ve ever seen. But it was very informative as the label says.

I loved that Taylor went incognito to the carnival, but everyone recognized him anyway. Taylor may be annoying, but he adds some really funny story lines to Gilmore Girls.

The main subject of the episode was of course April. And what a surprise that Lorelai had to hear that Luke has a daughter from April and only by chance and not from Luke. I understand Luke’s hesitation and confusion in the situation, but he’s completely oblivious to the fact that this may be affecting Lorelai more than she’s letting on (but of course that may be the subject of next week’s episode). I really hope it won’t ruin they’re marriage plans.

Logan’s attempts at winning back Rory are really pathetic. Not that flowers, fruit and coffee are necessarily bad, but he should know that after what he pulled he needs a lot more to win Rory back. Like SUBSTANCE! He needs to let Rory know he’ll do anything to get her back. I think Rory and Logan are cute together, but there needs to develop some substance between the two to make it believable a second time around (if they do really get back together in the next episodes).

The Lane/Zack thing is getting weird. I think this plot line needs to be explained better, to be more believable. Lane is living with her mother again? Even though they couldn’t stand each other? And her mother is being ‘cool’ with certain things? Even wanting Zack to get back together with Lane? I’m seriously confused. I hope this will be explained better later on.

The title is okay, but the reference to Gwen and Gavin in the episode was just not strong enough to hold. It was the weakest part of the episode.

And Paris is just going way too far. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rory’s editor soon.

So you may be wondering why a Gilmore girls lover is being so negative. I guess I’m hardest on the things I love.

Gilmore Girls is still a great show.

  • Some important stuff happens, but some of the typical spirit is missing.

    "Great"
I don’t know exactly what I should think of this episode. On one hand the fact about Luke’s daughter finally gets processed when Lorelai runs in to her. As well Logan and Rory are moving on. But on the other hand, it was some quite episode, something that’s unusual to this show. I I’m not really happy about that. Sure there are some really funny moments. For example the town meeting (how could the church bells rings??), Zack following Lane and arguing with her mother, the Maple Syrup Council. Sure all nice things, but somehow I just feel that just something is missing here.

The Paris and the newspaper are getting on my nerves. Just shut her up and go back to normal again!

Kirk had a nice, but not outstanding part.

Logan and Rory did well, but somehow I think there were some emotions missing, especially after Rory broke down in the last episode.

Lorelai is still holding to Luke, but she looked so sad, when Luke told her, that he would like to postpone their wedding. I don’t know if that is going to work anymore. Maybe it would be better, when they just would be together without a wedding (please don’t get me wrong here or offended!).

I start to miss Emily and Richard even I’m not their biggest fan after all. But they brought some dynamic in the story. But I don’t know if they will be back so soon. Lorelai is happy when they as far away as possible and Rory now understands her mother better than ever and mostly has the same feelings about them, but still something is just missing.
