Directed by Chris Long
Written by Daniel Palladino Synopsis by Stacie Lee Greene Lane works out an ideal plan to cover for the band's first non-Bible-study gig. Rory and Jess drive her drums over to the party, then Lane meets them and the rest of the band there after leaving home with Young-chu, supposedly headed for Christian bowling night. And it all works great. Until Dave finds out Young-chu's in love with Lane and gets tired of waiting for the two of them to break up so he can take Lane to the prom. Then Lane decides to drink away her sorrows. She gets so far gone, she calls her mom, tells her she's had a couple beers and breaks the news that she's with Dave -- or at least wants to be. Rory's trying to have a good time at the party despite Jess' bad mood. She doesn't know why he's upset and he won't tell her that he's not going to graduate. Instead he goes upstairs to sulk in a bedroom. When Rory finds him there, he tries to take things too far and then proceeds to tell her it's her fault. When she leaves the room crying, Dean assumes the worst when he sees Jess trailing her and he starts brawling with Jess, not caring that Lindsey's still there. The fight ends up out on the lawn where the police show up and break up the party. Meanwhile, Lorelai has been dragged into "volunteering" at Chilton, where of course she runs into Max. When she confronts him about their relationship, he tells her he doesn't want one and just wants her to go away. But back in Stars Hollow, Luke still has a cute butt. Even if he's already got a girlfriend who gets to sleep with it.
