AIRED:
Joan, Toni and Lynn set up dates with men they met over the Internet. Lynn's guy never shows up (his parole was denied), while Toni rejects hers because his skin is too dark. Although conspiracy theorist Maya warns that he will turn out to be a serial killer, Joan is pleased with her date, Marcus. Joan freaks out after discovering that Marcus wears a girdle because he has large hips, prompting Toni (who had taken heat from the girls over her treatment of her date) to take her to task for her behavior. Meanwhile, William also uses the Internet in an attempt to find love. He finally gets a date, but the woman seems to be completely crazy.moreless

  • The girls try to find dates on the web. Maya has her doubts about them going out with strangers and does not think it's a good idea.

  • An issues show that is relevant to all Black people.

    8.5
Even though this was a show about race, it didn't feel like they were focring it down our throats like they tend to do on most shows. Toni has issues with her blind internet date because she thinks he's too dark skinned for her. While Lynn, William and Joan have problems of their own. In this episode, Willy meets his future fiance Yvonne, but thinks she's insane when she calls him on 'flirting with another woman' and telling him she'll 'cut a man' for it. Joan's date seems almost perfect when she meets him, but upon going to his house, she snoops and finds a gertle under his bed. [One of the funniest scenes in the episode]. She asks him whose is it, and he says "It's mine, and I wear it." Joan then sees visions of him wearing a women's suit and a hockey mask a la Jason. Classic!moreless
