  • I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!

What can I say? Last night I watched the Girlfriends season finale for the third time. My eyes were glued to the television like I had never seen it before. As usual, I wasn't taking any phone calls, and wanted no interruptions. The season finale was phenomenal. I could not have asked for anything better. When I first watched it, I was a little worried that the show was not returning because of the way it ended. But, after doing much research, I am relieved to know that it will be, less Toni. That is very unfortunate. I can only hope that show keeps its "umph" without her. I cannot wait for the new season to begin.moreless
  • Joan has been unknowingly setting herself up for a huge fall ever since she became, "The It Girl." She finally gets her comeuppance in the two part season finale. Toni is humbled and it forces her to grow. Maya has a decision to make. Lynn finally writes.moreless

Ever since becoming, The It Girl," Joan has been causing a wedge between herself and her friends. She wasn't trying to but she was not used to all of the spotlight attention that she got, nor was she used to being invited to A list parties. She got caught up and it resulted in her disappointing her friends on several occasions. She also wound up juggling several men at once and not making wise choices in that area either. All of this blows up in her face and forces her to take a good long look at her self...

I think this season finale was very well done. Each of the friends has been growing and/or changing all season and the culmination of this growth was perfect for each of them. You want to feel sorry for Joan on the one hand but she did it to herself so you can only hope that she learns from it. You find youself rooting for Maya & Darnell because they've come a long way and are finally able to realize their dreams but one of the dreams may cause a major change that they did not expect.

Toni needed to be knocked down a bit but you actually find yourself pulling for her to come out on top as well. Lynn finally gets "creative" but ironically it happens because the friends appear to be pulling apart. William may finally get with the woman of his dreams.

This 2 parter gives us just enough but definitely leaves us wanting more.

  • TONI FINALLY GROWS UP!

Joan is brought to her knees, literally and figuratively. While I was all for her putting her needs first for a change, she went WAY too far when it counted the most. Lynn is Lynn, but ironically, she is the reason Toni and Maya have gotten closer. Her \"artistic\" craziness has helped them realize how much they have in common AND that they can depend on each other when it counts.

William and Monica are so wrong, but his quirkiness will make for an interesting next season.moreless
