  • A witty way to live with your girlfriends!

Lots of drama! Every girlfriend has her own lifestyle... and they all talk about men issues, fashion, uncertainty and more! Every woman must watch because this show shows you what it's like to live life as a woman!
  • I agree with a previous member, BRING IT BACK.

I agree with a previous member, BRING IT BACK. At least give us some closure. Let it end like it should've, not like it was coming back the next week. I hate to say it, but lots of shows with primarily black characters seem to end this way and it's just not fair. We'd like to see our shows last and again even if it was coming to an end, let it end right. It would have been nice to see all of the ladies either get what they were looking for or go off into the sunset looking as if they were getting what they wanted.

Bring it back...PLEASE!!!!! I miss it.
  • please bring back "girlfriends" the fans deserve to have our show back or at the very least give some type of closure. also keep the dvd's coming

girlfriends was a great. it was a good show for young woman and the fans deserve some closure to a great show. how about a made for tv moive 2hrs or 4 hrs over one day or two days. we deserve to see Joan get married and to see William and Monica have their baby, and Lynn getting her act together finally and maybe even bring Toni back so and have her Joan once and for all work out their issues and of course Maya and Darnell. bring the show back or give us something.

    give us our show back
  • I have to say this show is the best. The actress and actors did awesome jobs and the show will also influence to young women that we face today. We would love the show come back and so we can enjoy the life that we have today. I have to say that thisis gr

  • Bring My Girlfriends Back!

Since the very first day I picked up my remote and stumbled across my very first peek at the show, I was immediately hooked! It was soon after that that I saw a piece of me in each of the starring characters. From the youthful urban nature of Mya, to the manicured erratic Joan. I cited myself in the strings of each and every episode. I found comfort in Mya's fibroid removal surgery after I had cysts removed from my ovaries. I also connected with Lynn during her journey through celibacy(which I am still as of today). I even related to the excessive vanity of Toni. It truly feels as though A part of me was abruptly taken away. How do you finish a book if the ending is ripped out?
  • It's a shame that a good show like this isn't returning! I wish the CW actually read these comments so they can see how people feel about their shows and how most of them cater to the CW--"CLEARLY WHITE" PEEPS!

IF they weren't going to bring it back, could they at least have given the show(after 8yrs)and its fans, the common courtesy to have a finale? As desperate as Joan was to get married, we should have been allowed to see her have a wedding! They could have shown Joan and Toni patching things up!What about Maya and Dornell's decision to adopt and Lynn finally becoming successful? That terrible show Gilmore Girls was allowed to have a finale-I HATED that show!! Watched it once-twice to actually have an opinion. I hate shows where the kid acts older than the parents! The CW is getting rid of all of their good shows. What's up with that new show "priviledged". That's what the CW needs-another show about rich, spoiled teenagers-I don't think they have enough shows like that! When they get good, true to life shows like Girlfriends and The Game, they put them in the worst time slots then wonder why ratings are low! They should have kept them on Monday nights-even Sunday was ok. Now they are moving The Game and Everybody Hates Chris to Friday nights--a night when no one's home. This looks like the last season for both of those shows. Why not put Gossip Girls and that Priviledged show on Fridays?
  • i felt like one of the girlfriends lol

i miss this show so much it was such a great show and so well created this would have to be one of my favorite shows because it was so nice to see a show based around four best friends that isn't like sex and the city where its kinda and i don't mean to be rude but kinda naughty where is this show just makes you feel like you are part of the gang not like your just watching a show and not doing anything. i really wish that Girlfriends wasn't canceled it was such a great show and so unique.

  • Girlfriends,I must say this show will be miss by many!

This is a great show. I can't believe they are canceling the one of few good shows that depict women in many different aspects of life.I am a busy woman who does not watch much tv but do if the show is worth watching and I can relate to the show. At least let the fans get a great finale ...Great show! It is both funny and deals with true life issues. I am very sad to see it go. Hopefully something can be worked out to save a great show. It has a lot of life. I strongly believe that!
  • Please allow the show to tape a final episode!!!!

Girlfriends is one of the best shows that TV has to offer. We all know that good things have to come to an end. But at least allow this good thing to go off graciously. I have been a loyal fan of girlfriends since the beginning and I would love to see Joan finally get what she has always wanted, for her to get married. We all need to get closure from this show. Just cutting the show without a finally is like watching a movie for 3 hours and just as you are about to see who done it the power goes off in the last ten minutes Ending the show without a final espisode would be a tragedy.
  • Girlfriends is the best show to come along in a very long time. Maya, Toni, Joan, Lynn, Monica, William, Darnell, Jabari are all great actors. There will never be another show like Girlfriends

Girlfriends has been cancelled. Only 13 episodes have been shot and they have all been aired. Even though the writers strike is over, The CW will not put Girlfriends back on for the remaining 9 episodes and they will not give Girlfriends a Series finale. The creator of Girlfriends is trying to get something done for Girlfriends but has no luck yet. I urge all fans of Girlfriends to call the following numbers to complain about the cancellation: 1-818-977-2525 (Dawn Ostroff, President of Entertainment (CW); 1-818-977-2537 (Traci Blackwell, Director of Current Entertainment (CW); 1-323-575-2380 (Nancy Tellem, President of CBS Paramount Network) or email Nancy Tellem at Please no matter what don't give up on Girlfriends. We fans have to do all we can to try to get Girlfriends back. The fans of Jericho got the network to bring it back so I think the fans of Girlfriends will be able to get our show back. Girlfriends is not the lowest rated show on the CW yet they are cancelling it. So, let us fans stick together and get Joan, Maya, Lynn, Monica, and William another chance because I've heard that the creator was gonna try to bring Toni back and I know everyone wants to see that. So, please call in and email and don't stop til we get something moving. Much love
  • Love Seasons 1-6

Well as much Episodes i seen so far i thought this show was
Great i like how there is drama and love how all the girls tell eachother stuff but then again they all keep their own little secrets but for season 8 not so sure whats going on but i kinda don't like it but we will see in due time what the writer is thinking about! and im a fan of persia white she is great so im pretty much watching it because of her so i dont like season 7 and 8 they suck ass lol sorry if you don't agree with me.
  • Season 8 is making it impossible to watch every week. What's going on with the writer(s) of this show?

As much as I enjoy watching the show for the purpose I'm an huge fan of Persia White seasons 7 and most of 8 sucks big time. I don't know where the chemistry went after season 6 but whose ever in charge need to bring it back. I love watching P. White at her finest in this show but at this rate I might go back to watching Monday night football, the writer(s) don't seem to be doing what it take to hold onto its audience. I read in several blogs where fans of girlfriends are losing interest in this show.
  • Girlfriens and The Game shows!!

Girlfriends: The show has taken a wrong turn and why is Joan so crazy? Lynn character is whacked! Mya was the best, don't mess her character up by damaging the Book career. Not good. The Game: Embarrasing, what Melanie is doing? That's so High School. Grown Women don't play childish games. Why have these shows taken a wrong turn, I don't get it? I thrived off these shows because the Women were Women and not little Girls. Now that Toni character is gone, it has taken a wrong turn and it's not nice or cool at all and why why
  • I loved girlfriends until they lost Tony and switched stations and now in the TV graveyard...shhh, I didn't say that, lol. But this show isn't the same. Even this picture with the three of them, they look lost and incomplete. Still love them though.

I loved the combination of girlfriends with Tony in the mix. This new addition Monica, isn't quite the right fit. I do not like the acting in this show. Sh e is also not right for William at all. Although fictional, it would be nice if it flowed. Monica is too (uppity) for William It's in her walk, her talk, her mannerisms. She's rigid. A wonderful actress but too big for this part. She looks like she belongs on Dynasty or something more showing her in a dynamic way. She is too pwerful an actress for this part.
  • I really enjoy this show but I wish they would bring Tony Childs back she really made the show edgy with her bad girl attitude. I still watch the show but it was better with Tony on it. Lets start a petition to bring Tony back.

Bring Tony Back she was the best thing to ever happen to this show. I still watch it but its not as good as it use to be with Tony on it. I really enjoyed the episoids with Tony and Todd (T&T) is what we called them. Tony was very dramatic and she brought spice to the show. I think that the show is not as funny as it use to be when Tony was on the show. I guess she has move on but it would be great to do a spin off show with Tony and Todd in New York and showing her making up with Joan. Tony in my opinion carried this show and I am sure the ratings were better when she was on it because most people would watch the show to see what Tony was doing or wearing.
  • It's a great show and believe I love the show but it's preety much past it's prime....

    Who doesn't love this show?

People who aren't able to give this show what it deserves:
    A CHANCE!!

But I did and look at me now.......

I'm an can tell by my picture.

The concept changes throughout the show:

    first, it was about Joan

then, then it was about all four of them.

and now, it's sbout Toni not being there.
She just vanished. That's just one thing I don't like about it that the concept changes very much.

It should have ended on Season 7 because basically the series was about Joan finding a good man and she did.

Also when everyone (exception of Toni) showed up and suprised her at her propasol.

The writing, the acting, and the plots are beyond phenomenal.

    Hands down on that!
  • This show keeps us single girls going and let's us know there is hope out there! And more importantly it provides the bond that we all need as females!

I know it's a little late to comment but I just joined the Lounge (lol)! So glad the Toni Childs character is gone! Joan was not responsible for Toni's life-Toni made her own decisions and should have to take responsibility for those choices and actions! Joan didn't owe Toni sh-! And it's sad that other people thought Joan did owe Toni something!I was so sick and tired of the show beating that dead horse-if Toni wanted to go, then let her go! The addition of Kesha Sharpe is good enough for me-she rocks! Would love to see Reggie Hayes on Broadway-he seems a true thespian! He's incrible and I love what his character represents-great role model! Would love to see this show continue! Joan is so corky, but I love her character! Would love to see even more Girlfriends/Boyfriends added to the show!
  • looking for a song

In season 3 when toni got married there was a song that was played and i wanted to know is anyone knew the name of it. It was something about "have i found my soulmate" I would really like it if someone could give me that info i can be emailed at
  • Girlfriends are about 4 african american women living in Los Angeles, this show is great! You get the best elements of a good show, once you watch it you'll be hooked!

I have to admit that when Girlfriends first came on I did not care for this show. But after a few shows I absoulutely loved it, and now I can't stop watching it. Everyday I have to watch it. I was dissapointed when Toni(Jill Marie Jones)
left the show, because Toni whether you like her or not, she gives the show a spunk. I still watch the show but without Toni it feels like something is missing. I also heard about the producers trying to replace Toni, but nobody can play Toni like Jill Marie Jones could. All in all I love Girlfriends and im so excited that they put it on dvd so I can watch it anytime I want!
  • I think in the seventh season the writing was so much better. There were some new and orignal things done.

Overall, I really enjoyed the writing this year. I felt that new breathe was instilled into the show. The acting was great. I just wish Lynn could get a stable or consistent job. I loved it when she was writing. Her brand of writing and Maya's are completely different. Lynn writes on issues effective the health and welfare of the world and Maya on relationships. Both are important.
As always I loved Reggie's character William. He truly holds his own and is a breath of fresh air.
It was interesting watching Jabori's growth from an elementary school baby too a teenager.
I appreciated the show this season.
  • Amazing

I can not believe that Joan is finally on the way to marriage. Wow I did not see that one coming. The house that Aaron bought is comingg along and will be a cute house for the 2 of them and a family one day. It was a season finale that did not leave me in the air. I can not wait until next season.
  • I actually get into this show, but it isn't a very good role model of African American woman or men.

The show is kind of hypocritical, they talk bad about anyone who isn't black or a Democrats, and that is judging people they don't know, which is like judging a black person based on their skin. They really are more of a stereotype of African Americans it seems. The one guy is always called a sellout because of how well he does and the way he acts, I thought the point of freedom was so people could act and be how they wanted, but they make him sound like a sellout because he has a good job, what message does that send to African American youth? I think some of the creators are white people, and they probably don't know about African American culture, it would be like me writing the show, I know slang and background, but I can't say I totally know African American culture. They make it seem like if the guy is a republican he is bad, so again they are judging a group based on a sterotype. The writers and creators have an ignornat view on all people it seems. The good points are the show has some really funny other jokes, and the characters interact well together. This would be a really good show if they didn't bog it down with agenda and propaganda against groups they don't like. They are always mocking or talking about someone that isn't good. The other good points are two of them are lawyers so they are successful which actually does show a positive image, and helps cover up the other negative images and steretypes that are in this show.
  • There was a show I watched once on girlfriends . crap something happened, but they were all in an arobics class and the instructor started single I'm single and that's how I wanna be. That was the main song for the show. Can anyone tell me who sings it?

  • cant stop....

ashow that truely looks at the lives... loves and losses of the four women...mya (golden brookes)... lynn (persia white)... tony (jill marie jones)... and of course joan (tracie ellis ross).... i myself love girlfriends... its good to finally see black women being portrayed as real women with real problems and not like a shanique with blue or red hair and long stupid nails.... this show is all about sassiness... their fisty and hard working women... a lot like sex in the city but not so much sex involved just a lot of talk... i always watch this.... its great and entertaining.... exspecially if ur in for the weekend... its a good comforter...recommend to people who love sex and the city... xxx becci
  • This is a pretty good show.

This show is pretty good. It was sad when Tony was out of the show I wonder if she will make an appearence again in Girlfriends. Season one just went out on DVD. The show has changed a lot they are all growing up and looking a little bit different. When Darnell and Mya got back together it was great bcause they are so cute together. Do you know what happened to Monica and William? I saw the wedding episode but I didn't see the part that said what happened if they get back together or not if you know please tell me
  • Girlfriends stars four African-American girlfriends and their friend William. Each girl is from different walks of life and the show progresses and is written pretty well which makes the show very refreshing to watch. I give it 2 thumbs up.

Initially when I saw the first couple of episodes, I thought that the show was going to be the same typically back woman mantra of being a b**** or somebody making a million inferences to how they had to come out the ghetto to get where they are and what not which isn't a bad thing, but every now and then an individual would like to hear somebody else story and this show offers 4 women with 4 different points of view who are still friends. There is Joan, who is the career woman always aiming for success in life. There is Lynn, whose talented but most definitely the free-spirited one of the show and therefore has problems planting her feet in one place. There is Mya, who had a child as a teenager but has come very far in her life, and then there is Miss Toni Childs, who is about as comically shallow as one can get despite the fact that she comes from humble beginnings. An to kind of balance it out, there is William who brings the male point of view to the show. I love the way the show progresses and that includes the lives of the characters in the show. They go through things that gives them growth which makes the show refreshing to watch. No matter who you are, I would recommend you tune in to watch @ least once, because I believe it is a really good show.
  • Girlfrids is a great tv show. There is nothing else like it. This tv show seems soo realistic, I even try to act like them, i try to compare their lifestyle with mines. This show is outstanding

Girlfriends is the best show ever! I hope this show don't ever get cancled. My favorite is mya, her and darnell they are the greatest couple ever. I miss toni soo much, i wish she come back. I hope lynn never finds a house of her own, she is soo cool. I love william he is nice. joan, she is a great friend, without her they wouldn't probably still be friends.I watch this show almost every monday, and if i miss it i be sure to record it. I have been trying to go and buy the dvd, but its been sold out. you guys keep up the good work!
  • Girlfriends is my personal favorite, because it relate to women of different colors outside of television. This show really brings it home with real life issues.

I really would love to see Tony Childs return to the show, because she made the show complete. Also, Tony played a big part in making this show more exciting. All of the ladies bring something good to the table, but it just doesn't seem right without Tony in the mix. I really don't care for Monica, she came into the show too strong and that was a negative for her. If at all possible, please write Tony Childs back in the movie, it will definitely bring more fun to the show.

  • Great show no matter which night it is on.

Girlfriends has all the ingredients of a great show. Labelling it as a comedy is such an injustice because it portrays so many other characteristics. Follwing the lives of four girlfriends is bound to present a lotta drama and this show does it with style season after season, still remaining refreshingly funny.

The countless relationships of Joan as she tries to find the correct mate to match not only her personality but also her lifestyle while motherhening the bratty Toni, family mamma Maya and the carefree lifestyle of Lynn makes this a show not to be missed.

Now factor in that the only male constant for this group of females, William's love life may be just as unstable as Joan's and you'll realize why no matter how many times the show switches nights it still finds it's way into my schedule.
