Sad episode, but really good IMO. Can't wait for the finale next week!
Good episode. I really kinda liked seeing Sue's softer side...Don't know if she'll stay that way (I kinda doubt it), but it was nice for this one episode. One thing that really kinda perterbs me is the kiss between Jesse & Rachel...Really?! Are these kids complete idiots?! First Finn gets back with Quinn, who cheated on him with his best friend. And then Rachel totally forgives a guy who just totally humiliated her just a year ago. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all about forgiveness, but there is a difference between forgiving someone who totally humiliated you and playing tonsil hockey with him! Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the finale...Me thinks it will be epic!
I loved Sue this episode, 100%. Especially when she's asking why her sister, who was the sweetest person ever, had to go and not her. Her trying to hold back her tears, how much Becky means to her and naming her head cheerleader, and her speech. I cried, and I don't normally cry for TV shows or movies. But I just hope Sue and Will's rivalry does pick up again in some way, although I kind of understand that her doing anything mean to New Directions would be really low after the funeral.
But something I don't like, how Finn likes Rachel again and wants her back, especially with all the crap they've been through, I think they should just stop. And as for Terri, her story seemed sketchy, so I hope she doesn't leave for good.

| It was an okay episode but I wish they wouldn't just have the Glee members standing there and singing a song. I wish they would work songs into the story they way they used to. |
My main two complaints about the episode are:
1) I was hoping Tina would try out for the solo. I think Jenna Ushkowitz has a wonderful voice, and I think she has been under-utilized this whole season. Aside from her bits during tonight's "Pure Imagination" we've seen her in a duet with Mercedes (Dog Days are Over), a kind of goofy duet with Mike (Sing), break down crying during her Valentine song to Mike, and get booed off stage during "I Follow Rivers".
2) I don't understand why Jonathan Groff didn't sing at all. If you're going to have him as a guest star, I'd rather hear him sing than to watch him do a lame imitation of Simon Cowell criticizing musical numbers!
I loved this episode. And I think my tear channels will be dry for a while, at least until the season finale, because I cried so much. I loved what they did for Jean, even though they'd never met her. And yes, she was "beloved" - I mean, it's like Sue said. She always just saw the good in people, in the world, every day was a wonder. We all have something to learn from an attitude like that. So even though we didn't get to know her much, I can definitely see what's lovable about her. I had a boy with Down's Syndrome in my elementary class, he couldn't talk at all, though, but he was an amazing person. I still think about him, more than the other folks from my class.
To be honest, Rachel's solo was the one I liked LEAST. Jesse St. James can burn in hell, he's a douche and an **** and I'm not sure I buy this "feelings for Rachel"-thing. Either he has some sketchy plan, like making problems within the group, or he DOES like Rachel - but he's still an ass. Pick Finn, Rachel, he really cares about you. Both Rachel and Jesse are very dominant and strong-headed, maybe too similiar to be in a relationship together. Except Jesse seems like he has no heart.
I loved "Soft Sue", I think she's been somewhat one-dimensional, I loved how emotional she was, how she took Becky back, how she finally admitted being weak. In a society like ours, being "weak" and admitting you need help is a disappointment. She's a very stubborn person who usually does not admit how she feels about anything, unless she hates it. So I loved seeing another side of her.
It almost feels like this is the last season... with Nationals, Sue changing, Will and Terri leaving, Emma allegedly moving on... It's like, we get closure, in a way, with the next episode. But the ratings are good as far as I've understood, so they'll make another season. They also made all cast members juniors, evidently, which means they all have a year left. A bit unlikely, but I don't want to lose any of the cast members. On second thought, get rid of Quinn. She's a lying, manipulating biatch who wants to control Finn's life.

Yep, they renewed it for a 3rd season a long time ago
One question: What was up with Kurt's skull pants?!
I saw an article on tv.com that said they thought this was one of the worst episodes of the series... I totally disagree. The one thing I didn't like is that I was hoping that Mr. Shu would tell Jesse to get out and never come back to the glee club again.
I think that the story line with Sue and her sister was fantastic, and really struck a chord. It shows that Jane Lynch is a better actor than we may sometimes give her credit for. She managed to show that Sue was trying to be the same old Sue, but that it was just a bold face to try not to show weakness. When the kids finally got through to her, she owned up to her history, and even apologized to Becky and offered Will good luck. I loved her line "I'm going to leave now, because this has just become SUPER awkward..."
I thought with the reference to an untimely death, that it would be Karofsky who committed suicide. They set it up in the previous episode with him and Kurt at prom, and Karofsky seemed to genuinely regret what he'd done to Kurt in the past. I was thinking they would be brave to follow that up with a suicide, but this story was just as good and showed the side of Sue that doesn't come through often.
I also LOVED Mercedes' solo at the audition. IMO, she has the best voice of the entire cast, and I am awed everytime she sings and really lets it rip. I thin kshe's one of the most under-used, under-appreciated performers in the series, and I very much want her to take a more prominent role in the future...

Now THAT would have been surprising & very impactful...Too bad the writers didn't have the guts to go there...
Panda Express! haha..
@DocKev I agree, Tina may not be a "diva" like Rachel and Mercedes but she has a wonderful voice.
The performances were ok but I like this episode overall.
The Sue/Becky hug got me teary-eyed. I'm confused with Quinn-Finn-Rachel.
looking forward to the finale!

Nah...

| Good episode but one that I don't like is the episode before the Prom Finn is carrying a picture of Quinn around with him and I don't remember what but it was something good then 2 episode's later he dump's her so why did he make such big her being his girlfriend when he wasn't going to stay the course. |
