I can't wait for this episode, there will be some fantastic songs. 'Smooth Criminal' with Santana and Sebastian should be awesome!!

'Never Can Say Good Bye' with Quinn soloing also looks to be another memorable performance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Upkhs5QyLIgno video on this one though.

"Smooth Criminal" sounds awesome. I don't like the other one, though. I'm so used to Gloria Gaynor's version, and this is way too different.

    That was amazing.

I just really don't like Sebastian. But then again, he's only been in 2 episodes so far, so... there just hasn't been anything redeeming about him so far, he's annoying. He's not even a character I love to hate, like Santana or Terri. I just hate him.

Aaaaaand a few hours after stating I hate Sebastian I find out he'll be a regular in season 4. Ryan Murphy, you make the best decisions! (Overload of sarcasm)

I don't like the character, and the actor didn't exactly wow me. It's asinine that he's already up for regular status after a few episodes shot, when actors like Chord Overstreet and Ashley Fink were never allowed that honor, or when actual series regulars like Jessalyn Gilsig and Mike O'Malley, and even Jenna Ushkowitz, were constantly misused. Not to mention that what the show needs right now is more gays, definitely. Again, abuse of sarcasm. It's stuff like this that makes me want to give up on "Glee". But I won't. Not this season, at least.

Oh, and check out the comments on the page, almost everyone is against this decision. Sorry for the news being slightly off-topic, it just ties in with what I told waterloo in a previous comment.

    So far...

    - Blaine got an eye injury from Warbler, throwing a slushie of rocks of him.

    - Kurt ends up as a finalist of NYADA and Rachel didn't. Rachel is crying again.

Yuck! This was the absolutely worst episode of Glee to air so far. We got the annoying Senastian as the villain, the plot was often shoved aside to make room for more songs and the NYADA thing was just way too predictable. This show is definitely going on a downhill spiral it may never recover from.

Why why did Rachel have to say yes?! i wish she would've listened to Quinn (i loved her little speech in the bathroom btw) I feel rachel only said yes because she felt she wasn't going anywhere. what do you guys think?

I also feel like Rachel said yes because of the NYADA issue, but i know she loves him so they may be able to work it out. Finn did say he would follow her to New York.

This episode started off annoying as hell because of that cheesy ridiculous teaser (although I did like the performance, but it was way too random, even for the show), but it eventually grew on me, and I wound up liking it quite a lot. Even Sebastian grew on me, he makes for an interesting villain. Too bad he'll probably be softened down as the season goes along. I still think it's a bit stupid that they just handed the tape to him. After all that (boring) talk by Artie about wanting to fight back instead of just singing like they always do, it's what they wound up doing anyway. Which I guess is indeed better, but still... I loved that Blaine stepped in in Kurt's place. I would be pissed if they did that to Kurt. And can you imagine Burt? He'd kill Sebastian!! Burt remains one of the greatest characters on TV, as further evidenced by his appearance in this episode. Why is Mike O'Malley no longer a series regular? His ratio of appearances in the season so far has been better than in the previous one, when he was a star. Odd.

Anyway, I missed Emma in this episode, it's a bit odd how they push her to the side after making the previous episode about the proposal. Also, why wasn't Tina among the faces in that "Black or White" montage?

The music was great, and the story was overall good as well. I hate that Finn's becoming more of an idiot (he's sweet, just stupid), and that Rachel's going along for the ride. I'm happy that Quinn is sweeter now. And Kevin McHale can really dance, huh?

Glee usually sidesteps the lameness of singing at each other as a form of battle. But they did more than get their toes wet, they dove right in and got soaking wet with the inexplicable what-the-hell-is-going-on of "Bad" and "Smooth Criminal." To paraphrase Professor Farnsworth, "perfectly harmonized singing never solved anything." Yes, although we have major interpersonal conflict, let's agree to sing at each other in a fine melody.

I don't have a problem with them breaking into song, however it only works when the song is about the characters' current state of mind or to reflect the events that are (independently) unfolding, not as a replacement for the plot itself. Where the synopsis might say "Santana confronts Sebastian," or "New Directions challenge Dalton"... well, no... they sang a duet, and worked together to perform an elaborately choreographed dance number.

Screw the so-called "high road" - I would have turned in the tape. There's only so many cheeks you can turn before you're standing there with your pants around your ankles. And show-choir justice is just weak sauce: "I know! We'll throw a concert to really teach them the error of their ways!" Why not go all the way and have a bake sale?

One thing I remember about "Black or White" when it was originally released is the "making of" presentation where the (at the time) breakthrough morphing technique was discussed and described as creating non-existent people in the middle of the effect. Here, then, are the non-existent Glee members:

    Fitney: Finn + Britney

    Bruck: Britney + Puck

    Pike: Puck + Mike

    Mikchael: Mike + Rachael

    Racedes: Rachael + Mercedes

    Mersam: Mercedes + Sam

    Surt: Sam + Kurt

    Kury: Kurt + Rory

    Rortana: Rory + Santana

    Santinn: Santana + Quinn

    Quartie: Quinn + Artie

I thought this epsidoe was one of the best of the season!!! Yea the slushie was a bit crazy ( they had to write off darren somehow) but overall the episode was great!! All the performances were amazing!!! Sebastian is just pure evil now but I still love him! I am kinda upset rachel said yes but I am so happy both her and kurt are finalists!! My only complaint is I wish it was a bit longer like an 1 1/2 so they wouldnt have to cut the warlber number!!! Overall it was a very good episode, I cant wait for ricky martin next week !!! p.s. it was confirmed that darren will be in the valentine's day episode!!!!!!!!!!!

I had no problem with the idea of battling with song instead of fists....it's actually quite a noble idea. My problem was that they sent out all the Warblers during the "battle", and at the end started arguing about who "won" or sang better! If you're going to have a battle "with song", you'd better have an audience to vote on who sang better, or else it will deteriorate into fisticuffs as you argue about who sang better! They could have asked the 2 cello players, but they were so "into" their playing, I doubt they paid much attention to Santana & Sebastian. However, absolutely loved the cellos in "Smooth Criminal", and loved Santana's vocals and outfit in the number too.

I had a huge problem with Kurt not turning in the tape. Although Kurt has shown a tendency to "grin & bear it" (ie not reporting Karofsky to his dad or teachers until absolutely pressed), that is when HE is being bullied. In this case, it was the love of his life Blaine who was being bullied. My impression of Kurt is that he would have turned in the tape for Blaine's benefit. The other thing that REALLY bugged me was when Santana & Kurt were throwing around the tape, threw it to Sebastian, and basically said "....and now the Warblers all know what kind of person you (Sebastian) are." How is throwing around a tape going to show the Warblers what kind of bully he is? It might have helped if they.....oh, I don't know....PLAYED the tape in front of the Warblers? And there were at least 2 or 3 of the Warblers who helped to hide and then give the slushees to Sebastian that he used on Blaine & Santana, so I think they knew what he was all about anyways. Another thing that bugged me was the choir for "Black & White". They appeared (or at least, A choir appeared) in the Madonna episode too. Where does this choir keep coming from? If you need more backup singers, how about the other 8 girls from the TroubleTones? Oh yeah, they've mysteriously vanished from McKinley High. And where was Sugar Motta? And where has Shelby Corcoran disappeared to? Now that the TroubleTones are no more, and Sugar seemed to have joined New Directions, I guess Shelby is no longer needed as Sugar's tutor? But surely the school still needs Sugar's dad's money to pay for not only Shelby as tutor, but also big flashing signs saying "Mercedes" during duets with Sam? Finally, the whole "Scream" number, while well "copied" from the original video, was confusing. The only other time Artie has "dreamed" he could walk, it was because he desired to dance with Tina. I'm not really sure why this "dream" required him to walk/dance, other than to copy the video. I always think Glee numbers are best when they put their own spin on things, not just copy what was originally done. And I kept wondering whether Mike or Artie was supposed to be "Janet" in the number! I'm still a fan of Glee, but I keep hoping that the writers could get back to how they wrote back in Season 1, with fewer holes in the plots and more consistency with how the characters are depicted.

Yes, the difference between Sebastian, Chord Overstreet, Ashley Fink (whom I miss), Jessalyn Gilsig, Mike O'Malley & Jenna Ushkowitz...Sebastian is a gay character & their characters are not. Ryan Murphy is a big, out there homosexual & he has a major agenda he's pushing. Personally I'm very sick of all the gayness on this show...Ugh...It's so obvious why the their is so much gayness...In my opinion, it's pathetic...

    ^^This!

I agree that enough is enough, there's no point in continually pushing his agenda forward. I doubt there is a single person out there who enjoys watching "Glee" that's a homophobe, and there's little chance that homophobes would even tune in to the show, as it is highly regarded as a gay icon. And those that do, well, there's already plenty gay regulars to flip their minds, no point in getting a new one. So why do this over and over again? When there are long-running fan favorites who have never been given a chance or who were misused/discarded when they were?

I too miss Lauren, she was a lot of fun, with great one-liners and sass. But mostly I miss Terri, I have a thing for crazy housewives.

I enjoyed the episode. So what if there wasn't much plot, its a show about a showchoir, they sing!

While some of the MJ songs didn't hit their mark, the ones that did were smokin!

I liked it..however I wish they would let Artie dance more, he was great!
