I love this show....all of the characters are perfectly cast. One of my favorite episodes is the Beyonce video Put a ring on it. Watching so guys do that dance was sooooooo funny. But when he told his father he was gay and his dad told him he already knew was gay and he loved him anyway it made me cry. There is just a little bit of everything on this show. Drama, love, sex, dancing, sports. If you have not watched it yet please do so soon. You will be hooked and loving it. I am not sure if they actually do the singing themselves but it is great either way.
  • Hilarious...I love Emma and Sure. Actually I love everyone on this show.

This show is completely hilarious. The whole thing with Sure falling in love and turning nice for a bit was genius. She is probably my favourite character on the show, comedy gold. Emma is also a brilliant character and I loved her and Will's dance here. I don't think it was actually her singing but it was still a great scene. When will she dump Ken and get with Will? Soon hopefully.

I liked how Puck was featured a bit more here. Loved how he sing 'Sweet Carline' to Rachel to prove that he was brave enough. I never expected those two to ever get together...it was a bit out of the blue but enjoyable. It was great how they both spoke about liking Quinn and Finn. That's interesting. I wonder when it will surface that Puck is the real father?

Episode highlight: Gotta be Kurt 'taking one for the team' by throwing that slushy over himself. As usual the songs, the humour and the characters made this really entertaining. Can't wait till it returns in a week or two...
  • Amazing episode & loved the song choice for the character Puck

I loved this episode. Its the first time I've actually seen the character Puck get a solo & it was amazing to watch! I just couldn't stop smiling when he was singing the words "Sweet Caroline" towards the end of the song when his voice went deep. I loved the fact that they actually put Puck & Rachel together. Ever since I watched the first episode I've been pulling for them. They make such an interesting couple, he's the school bad-boy and she's the annoying but at the same time sweet good-girl. They make a great couple. I hope in future episodes they have more scenes together.
  • Very good episode

I thought this episode was really good really funny i thought their should of been more of the kids singing and less of mr shou (please no dancing next episode), but the sub plots were great i loved lynch in the swingers i thought it was cute. Um not a sub plot but i loved rachel and noah together i know that in the show rachel supposed to be in love with fin blah blah, but i thought her and puk had the best chemistry especially that scene where she was washing his head, excited for next week can't wait. Bring back noah and rachel.
  • Slushies and Puck/Rachel!!

I kind of like Puck/Rachel I ain't gonna lie. They kind of work together because she's such a good girl geek and he's the bit of a rebel whore.

I absolutely adore Puck though so gotta hate her on a kind of totally sly level haha.

I do love Puck and his singing though! His mash-up was really brilliant and it was two brilliant songs put together - I don't doubt a lot of people where singing along with him!

Finns reaction was cute though - as was Quinns! Both of them are totally hung up on Puck and Rachel and it's really quite something! Again something that is obviously going to happen - well it seems that way and if it doesn't I think a lot of people will be annoyed!
  • Funny in parts but doesn't really move the show forward and the musical numbers were not up to standard.

This episode was probably my least favorite episode of Glee so far. Since the start of the series I have always wanted to watch more after I watch an episode but this particular one was fairly cringe worthy. I felt that the songs were pretty boring and not up to their usual standard and that the story didn't really move forward at all concerning the 'big things' (the baby, terry not having the baby etc.). Their were a few funny moments that made this episode passable but apart from that it was pretty disappointing. Hopefully next weeks episode ties it all back together.
  • That's how Glee should roll...

Episode 8 was exactly the kind of track I was looking for. It reminded me of the first 4 episodes and episodes like this is what made me watch this show in the first place.

What started off as a musical overdose with 3 songs played out in the first few minutes of the show, progressed to a more comedy-centric one, and finally to some drama with a sweet ending. A lot of folks go through a variety of emotions, Finn and Quinn think they've lost their cool factor after being part of Glee club. Finn decides to give up Glee for football, and Puck gives up football for Glee and most importantly for Quinn. He even goes through a epiphany that makes him want to go out with Rachel. But finally, Rachel makes him realize that both of them want something they can't get. Even Will goes through the same, he knows he wants Emma and vice versa - but again, Emma is getting married to Ken and Will is already married.

Sue surprisingly falls in love only to get turned down later. This seemed more like a filler plot, except that we get to see Jane Lynch shake a leg. Great episode.
  • Finn and Quinn are no longer the it couple at McKinley. Puck decides he is going to try to hook up with Rachel. Ken decides that he has had it with Will and makes the football players decide between Glee and Football. Sue falls in love!

I think the quality of this show directly coincides with the number of really good production numbers in the show. The performances were all good but there was no real showstopper this week. The closest group piece was Will's Bust'N Move piece. Emma's My Fair Lady, Puck's Neil Diamond, and Will's The Thong Song pieces were all more solo pieces and they were all enjoyable but this shoe thrives on the group Glee numbers. Sue getting nice and then losing it, Ken being jealous of Will, losing it, and then being OK at the end. Noah trying to get together with Rachel, Will and Emma still not realizing they have the hots for each other or ignoring it, Finn and Quinn not being the quintessential couple anymore, and the iconic throwing of the slushies seems like just soap opera stories to backdrop the musical numbers.

It seems that more big group numbers are coming our way based on the coming attractions. I hope that is the case. Thanks for reading...

The mash-up concept introduced in a previous episode is further explored here to some great thematic effect.

What I appreciated about "Mash-Up", and Glee in general, is the way each episode actually seems to be about something underneath the slights, jabs, fun and fluff. There are some nice morals and messages that are insightful, and cleverly weaved into the episodes- I'm actually coming away with life lessons here!

As the Mash-Up title suggests, the theme this week explored the matching of seemingly opposite things. Can Sisqo's 'Thong Song' work as a wedding dance? Does football and glee club mesh? Noah + Rachel? Huh?!

Emma asked Will for some dance lessons for the wedding, and this gave us the chance to see the counselor in some beautiful gowns, including a dead-ringer for Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. These scenes are an effective reminder of how not right for each other she and Ken are, and I must say I was reminded of Sue Sylvester's comment about needing 'a machete to cut through the thick haze of lust that surrounds them'(lol). Matt Morrison and Jayma Mays create so much chemistry just through their longing stares- I always feel the room getting a little hotter!

Speaking of Sue, the oddest of things happens- she falls for a man! It so happens the anchorman at her news station is interested in her, and we see a side of Sue we've never seen before: She's happy! This leads to a humorous number with Jane Lynch attempting swing dancing. Happy Sue was mildly fun, and seeing it all pay off with her in a full-fledged 'zoot suit' was bliss. But I'm more than happy to have nasty Sue back, though sorry for her heartbreak I am. This subplot seemed a little random and out of place- as if just to give Lynch something to do this week.

Most interestingly, Quinn and Finn are now hugely unpopular, and the show uses Glee's running gag of slushy-in-the-face for some great laughs. Coach Ken, upset about Will and Emma forces his students to choose football or glee club, and it puts 'studs' like Noah in a tough position. During the Mash-Up assignment, he turns to Rachel and a romance sparks. These two really have nothing in common besides being Jewish, but that's excuse enough for Noah (and the show) and I think I got some of my biggest laughs here. I loved the cutaway to the jock watching Schindler's List as a tradition with his family! But Rachel and Noah could both see they had feelings for other people, and it is likely this little fling will was a 'one-shot' (comic book term) never to be spoken of again. The ep was filled with songs (including debut solos for both Noah and Emma) and got a warm fuzzy feeling from the ending. It seems the glee kids have come to accept their social status, and it was nice to see that. This felt like the conclusion to the first arc of the season, though of course with the baby and wedding business there is still plenty to look forward to.
