One major issue, an uneducated woman being able to get a job so quickly as a school nurse with no formal education or training in the field? Then to give minor children over the counter medicicine without knowing their medical history? Then to let the kids walk around with the medicine to give to other kids?

If I remember correctly, if this did happen, especially in the last 20yrs, she would have been arrested for distributing drugs to minor children without parent consent & allowing children to pass the medicine to others, the kids involved would have been expelled ann/or arrested/cited for distributing drugs on school grounds and the principal would have been fired for hiring the unqualified school nurse and for allowing her to do this on his watch.
  • So which number really was better? The boys or the girls?

Getting a peek inside Sue Sylvester's journal was like Christmas: "Glee Club. Every time I try to destroy that clutch of scab-eating mouth-breathers it only comes back stronger like some sexually ambiguous horror movie villain. Here I am- about to turn 30- And I've sacrificed everything, only to be shanghaied by the bi-curious machinations of a cabal of doughy misshapen teens."

    Jane Lynch rocks my socks.

She's got even better material when meeting with Will's wife Terri, letting her know her husband might be cheating with the school counselor Emma. "You need a machete to cut through the haze of lust that surrounds them." I could honestly go on and on quoting her amazing stuff here, but I guess I'll get to the rest of the episode.

Glee club has become complacent with their skills, and to keep everyone on the top of their game, Will decides to pit a boys vs. girls showdown for rights to picking the song that will be used at the competition. The guys went with Bon Jovi's "It's my Life" and Usher's "Confessions", while the ladies wanted to mash-up Beyonce's "Halo" with "Walkin' on Sunshine." These were the only two numbers in the episode but both were very well done. Of course in the show no winner was picked (both teams decided to disqualify themselves) but for argument's sake I'd have to give the edge to the guys. Not only did I like the selection of songs better, but the arrangement was better mixed, with both hooks seamlessly flowing together. The girls' was fun but the mash-up felt more like just one song followed by another. Plot-wise, Terri decided that by playing school nurse she could keep an eye on Will and to further complicate things, she planted the idea of marriage into Ken's head as a way of getting Emma out of the way. I've never really liked the coach on this show, but his proposal was sweet and sincere, a nice touch, considering they could have gone silly with it. Now we have legitimate levels of conflict with real feelings involved: Emma for Will, Her commitment to Ken (she said yes, after all, and a part of her might just go with it) Will's responsibility as husband and (fake) father, Terri's desperation to keep Will, and Ken's genuine love for Emma.

Terri's inexperience with anything medical was a little humorous, and it gave Jessalyn Gelsig a chance to interact with some of the kids, which I'm sure was fun. I loved her "it's over the counter" excuse for the pills, and it was a nice message about teens and drugs, no matter what kind they may be. Needless to say, the development at the end of this episode has made my year; Jane Lynch is now co-running Glee. This can only lead to happiness! LOL

This really was the best episode yet. This would have been the best episode for Sue's journal entry alone. Heck, this would have been the best episode for Sue tripping up that old lady. But we get loads of great songs, some much needed character work and some hilarious one-liners, Jayma gets a back-lashing from the writers this week as they take the piss out of her peculiar looks (which I adore). The entire Vitamin D scenario was so wrong on so many levels, but oh-so funny. Terri's all or nothing search and destroy was comic-villain worthy and the first time so far I've actually enjoyed her evil shenanigans. And I really can't get 'break my stride' out of my head now. Thanks -_-

This episode is absolutely hilarious and includes two amazing songs from the girls and the guys!

I mean - making them high actually makes them about 30 times better on stage - actually like that other professional choir!

I really love the mash-ups between Bon Jovi and obsessions - plus the girls version of Halo and Sunshine was really really great! I think I prefer the girls to the guys - their voices are better - Finn has got a good voice but it's not really that easy to listen too is it?

The boy in the wheelchair has such a better voice - I really need to start learning the character names but I'm not American and I had to get them off someone so I just watched the first 8 straight!

Terri becomes the school nurse and starts to play around with Will's career, and with his relation with Emma. In order to boost the Glee Club's performances, Terri gives everyone decongestant medicine. In result of Terri's act, she is fired and Will is no longer the director of Glee Club, it's Sue. Emma accepts that gym teacher's wedding proposal.

6 installments down, and out of which 5 were truly a delight to watch. I am definitely including this one in awesome list, for its nicely done mix of comedy, music, and the morally instructive ending.

The story kicks off with Terri crashing into the school to work as a replacement nurse in order to spy on Will. Jane Lynch has delivered another good performance, and it is vital to include her more, if the show is going for the long haul. In an attempt to inject some spirit into Glee, Will organizes a guys versus girls face-off. In the meanwhile, Terri runs her drug racket in the school by giving performance enhancing OTC decongestant pill to the kids thereby making them perform like rock stars. There are also brief sequences where the sexual tension between Will and Emma is shown. As a result of Terri's actions, Emma is forced to accept Tanaka's proposal. There was also a brief instance where I almost peed my pants when I thought Quinn would say the A-word on Fox. Well, that didn't happen.

I loved this episode. Huge improvement over last weeks episode. THis was probably the funniest episode yet and this episode had a fair amount of sue sylvester which is fantastic. The funniest part was her writing in her diary and her talking about teaching children with fear. And now that she will be co director of glee club im guessing the show will just keep getting better. I also liked finn in this episode. when he took that supplement thing the way he acted was hilarious. and learning rachels morning routine was funny as well. this episode was awesome and i really love this show
  • One of my favourites so far...completely hilarious.

I love this show so much. It is really funny and those musical numbers make it different to everything else on at the minute. Highlights here were the hilarious gym teacher, Will's mental wife and weird Emma. Then we have Rachel and Finn competing against each other in a 'Gleeoff'.

It was brilliant how the wife becomes the school nurse and gives out 'vitamins' to the students which makes them all really energetic. I loved both the girls and boys songs...entertaining stuff. I can't believe Emma accepted your mans proposal...but in a brilliantly weird way. I hope Will gets it together soon and dumps his crazy wife...who wants to buy Quinn's baby...creepy or what.

I loved the development at the end that the gym teacher was co-director of Glee. That should be a excellent turn of events. Week by week Glee continues to impress me...I can't wait for next week.
  • Will decides to create some energy by making the girls and boys compete against each other. Sue hatches a plan to get Terri into the school as the nurse. Her new plan is to disrupt Will's life. Ken proposes to Emma and she says yes.

An entertaining episode with two excellent performance numbers. Unfortunately the plot got in the way of the music in this episode.

We spend a great deal of time with Sue's new obsession to take Will out. She reasons that to get to Glee she needs to get to Will. Cut off the head and the body will die maybe? She tells Terri that Will is fooling around with Emma and she needs to hold on to her man. She suggests Terri take the job of the school nurse who is in a coma(caused by Sue!).

Terri gets the job somehow which of course is impossible as she has no health experience at all, but that would ruin the plot which is absurd by this point anyways. Seriously, how does she think she is going to get the baby from Quinn and keep it without Will and Finn knowing? One of the many questions you just shake your head at.

As the new school nurse she dispenses pseudo-ephedrine to all the students getting them hopped up beyond belief. It does supposedly create two great singing performances which are the true highlights of the episode. In the end she gets fired and Will's authority is usurped. This show really is the best when it sticks to the music. I think three to four numbers is the best balance. I was disappointed by the lack of another performance piece.

Overall another enjoyable episode of Glee. I look forward to next weeks episode. Thank you for reading...
  • Great episode! It had a mix of just about everything I like about the show.

This was the episode I've been waiting for since the beginning of the show. They've focused on a lot of different stuff over the first five episodes, but "Vitamin D" combined them all into one. There was no Sandy in this episode (as funny as the actor who plays him can be, he's just annoying in this show), plenty of Sue and some genuinely funny moments.. oh yeah, and the musical numbers were pretty awesome.

The episode starts as simply Will trying to motivate the Glee Club to show some initiative and some proof that they want to win at Sectionals and ends up taking about a half dozen plot lines and characters and combining them into one. Terri learns about Will and Emma's flirtatious relationship and becomes the school nurse, where she doesn't know the first thing about nursing and proves this by handing out decongestants like candy. These pills (called Vitamin D by Finn and the rest of Glee Club) give them a new found motivation and the competition between boys and girls turns into a couple of drug-fueled numbers.

It'd be a shame to say everything about the episode, because Ryan Murphy has been doing a good job of letting the plot and characters grow slowly instead of jumping ahead. There's Terri's fake pregnancy, Quinn's lie about the father and Emma and Ken's pathetic wedding plans hanging in the balance, and you can tell it's just a matter of time before everything falls down.

This was definitely one of the better episodes of Glee. It combined the strange and bizarre humor of Sue, the frantic humor of Terri (which I must say does get a little irritating) and some great dramatic moments that don't make you feel like you're drowning in sentimentality. Great episode, and I'm looking forward to the Sectionals part of the show next.
  • I'm still not buying Terri as the wife. Other than that, the rest of the show was good.

Will is trying to fire up the Glee Club, Sue is still trying to get it fired. So she tells Terri about the "affair" between Will and Emma. Terri becomes the school nurse and through her ineptitude gives the kids over-the-counter meds that are uppers. As a result, they get energetic but she gets busted, resulting in Sue now being Co-Coach of the Glee club. Oh, and in another attempt, Sue talks Coach Tanaka into proposing to Emma. She accepts, with some weird conditions, consistent with her character. All well and good. Nice dance numbers, interesting premise...But...

I'm not buying Terri. This was a great chance for some excellent character development for Terri's character. The problem was, I don't like what developed. This would have been a great chance to see why they really got married and why they love each other but instead we get petty, vindictive, spiteful gold digger who seems married to the wrong person and can't admit it. I could take "I married the wrong person but take my marriage vows seriously" but we don't even get that. Somehow "marrying my high school sweetheart" doesn't work. Two of the best examples of why couples are married belong to Malcolm in the Middle and Family Guy. Hell even Al Bundy considered his most precious treasure a picture of his family. We get absolutely none of the Love-Hate banter, mismatch that still works quirkiness, or just plain love for each other from this couple. I can't see a single reason why their together and it really irritates me because a lot of the Will/Emma line is dependent on this forced, badly written, not viable relationship. Other than that, I love the show.

Sue Sylvester is one of the best characters ever on tv!!! Jane Lynch is a genius in her performance as an insane sociopath of a cheerleading coach with excellent diction. (Her sociopath status was cemented during this episode, when she pushed the elderly school nurse down the stairs, putting her into a coma.) Her journal entry in this episode was just hilarious, in great part due to her choice of words. As an example, she describes the glee club as a "cabal of doughy misshapen teens." Later on, when talking to Will's wife Terri, she describes the guidance counselor Emma as "a mentally ill ginger pygmy with eyes like a bush baby." I don't know how much of this character can be credited to the writers and how much to Jane Lynch, but I imagine they should all be commended. Still, I wonder how much of what her character says is ad libbed? Anyway, in my opinion, Sue Sylvester is the funniest female tv character since Karen Walker on Will and Grace and may even be funnier.

As for the rest of the show, I enjoyed it, but oh how sad to see Emma agree to marry Ken, when she and Will are so obviously in love with each other. Will's wife Terri is an evil harpy, and her plan seems destined to fail, but will it be too late for Will and Emma to get together? As to the music, I wasn't as wowed as with other episodes, but I think the awesome storyline and hysterical dialogue compensates for what the music lacked. Definitely a 10!
