Gloss

Show Summary

Gloss is a TV drama series that originally ran between 1987 and 1990 and was directed by Chris Bailey. The New Zealand soap opera centers around the Redfern family, owners of a publishing empire that faces plenty of scandal, controversy and difficulties. The publishing empire has its headquarters in Aukland and focuses on the cutthroat world of high fashion magazines. Maxine Redfern (Ilona Rodgers) is the glamorous, demanding and no-nonsense editor, working hard to bring her unique vision to the publishing firm, despite the drama that often surrounds her. However, she has to deal with her unpleasant family members, including spoiled and bossy Chelsea (Lisa Chappel) and equally privileged and lazy Alistair (Simon Prast). Maxine also has to butt heads with her colleagues and clients, including witty and elegant Magda (Kerry Smith) and sly Rex (Peter Elliott). As Maxine, Magda and their clients try to navigate the dangerous world of high fashion and business combined, all kinds of secrets and betrayals rise to the surface.
