GMTV Today

Show Summary

GMTV Today began on the 3rd of January 2000, and was shown after Newshour (6am-7am) and before LK Today (8.35am-9.25am excluding school holidays & Fridays) on GMTV on ITV1. GMTV had previously aired between 1993 and 1999, and held the same format, the presenters from the series moved over when the show changed it's name. The show continued with regular news updates from the Newsdesk looking in-depth at the day's stories. Celebrity guests appeared daily to discuss their new programmes or projects and there were also real-life stories. Alongside that there were daily competitions. In January 2009 GMTV relaunched, meaning that Newshour and GMTV Today merged into one show, retaining the title GMTV.

  • GMTV best news factual programme in the UK. Matt Arnold is the 'best' thing on it. I just need to hear his voice. He's fabulous and extremely attractive.

From 6.00am till 6.45am I watch this before heading off to work. This morning Matt was sat on the sofa (which I know he doesn't particulary like). He'd rather be up North as the roaming reporter and not stuck in London. Maybe something to do with John Stapleton being off.

This is the best daily show for ITV1. It has everything on it like cartoons and a number of things. On weekdays it just has competitions and things like that and on weekends it has cartoons which is called toonatic with the cartoons which are Spongebob and other cartoons. Overall a good show for both weekdays and weekends.
