Episode Summary

EDIT
Area 51
AIRED:
H.E.A.T. travels to the infamous military installation known as Area 51 for their latest creature investigation, where they discover that a giant mutant armored lizard called the Thorny Devil is on the loose, whose aforementioned armor proves resistant to Godzilla's incendiary breath. Upon investigating further, the H.E.A.T. team discover that Area 51 doesn't actually house the bodies of deceased extraterrestrials and confiscated alien technology, as widely rumored (see below), but was actually used to house and study a previous generation of mutant beasts created as a result of the atomic bomb tests conducted in the desert areas of the American Southwest during the 1950's. They befriend a prominent scientist employed by the base, who Randy also finds himself romantically attracted to. In the meantime, Godzilla finds himself hard pressed to defeat the armored Thorny Devil, until the cunning Kaiju King manages to knock the creature on its back, and then uses his incendiary breath on the beast's unprotected underside, thereby finally managing to defeat it.moreless

    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • Area 51 is THE most heavily guarded facility in the United States, if you went in and tried to get some information you could be shot and killed without question. The base's security measures include trip wires, infrared radar, guard towers, tanks, aircraft, ground troops, drone gun turrets, not to mention the whole area is a No Fly Zone; any non-US military aircraft is shot down without any warning. If you ask me, both H.E.A.T. and the conspiracy theorists entry to the base shouldn't have been that easy. Plus, any surviving intruders that caught at Area 51 are immediately arrested, interrogating, most of which disappear without a trace.

      • At one point, Nick refers to H.E.A.T. as Humanitarian Ecological Analysis Team, despite the fact it really stands for Humanitarian Environmental Analysis Team.

      • Craven considers the alien conspiracy theorists to be crack-pots, despite meeting aliens himself along with the rest of H.E.A.T.

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Nick: (upon seeing the mutations being kept secret in Area 51) Mutations.
        Elsie: Nice petting zoo.
Dr. Candice Kirk: We study them for potential military and medical applications. Although officially, the Pentagon frowns on our research.
Nick: Destroy all monsters; we're familiar with that philosophy.

      • Mendel Craven: (while cutting into the wall surrounding Area 51) Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but won't this be breaking and entering?
Monique: No. Espionage. Twenty years minimum.

      • Monique: Your methodology is inadequate.
Dr. Candice Kirk : Thanks for the input but I know what I'm doing here.
        Monique: Her arrogance is infuriating.
Elsie: Don't ya just hate people like that?
        Monique: (bemused glare)
