Going Great

Show Summary

Going Great is a family series that originally aired on Nickelodeon from January, 1983 to March, 1983. It consists of 16 thirty-minute episodes, and one episode is broadcast each week. The host presents segments in a newsmagazine format and ties the segments together. The episodes primarily focus on children who perform unusual feats. One episode features a singing performance by Celine Dion, an emerging teenage singer at the time. Kathy Hubble performs exhibitions of her judo and motorcycle-riding skills in another episode. Andy McCurbin is an 18-year-old rapper who performs over a backbeat at parties on one segment. Howie Mandel talks about his career and hobbies, including fish riding. Another memorable episode shows Susan Keers, a 16-year-old horseriding instructor, giving lessons to Keanu Reeves. Reeves demonstrates his athletic ability in this episode by jumping onto a horse from behind and dismounting with a somersault.
