Carter is with a group of peers, and they are looking at a picture of Mrs. Camp Henderson, struck by her beauty, and go on about how they would not have a chance with her. Sgt. Carter has a different view, saying that any girl is dateable and approachable. Sgt. Hacker challenges Sgt. Carter to prove his theory, and they settle on a $50 bet to see if Sgt. Carter can get Gomer to take her on a date to Lookout Point. This was a good set up to the episode. The next scene is funny, as Sgt. Carter attempts to manipulate Gomer to take her on the date. He shows Gomer a picture of Julie(Ms. Camp Henderson),and essentially says she is judged by her outer beauty, not her inner beauty, and that Gomer can change that Sgt. Carter uses a "little devise" to meet her, as Gomer points out it is actually a fib. Sweet scene is next as Gomer tells her the truth, and encourages her about her mind. Julie is touched. Gomer takes Julie to Lookout Point, and is there to listen to the quiet. Sgt. Carter and Hacker witness them through binocolars, so Sgt. Carter wins the $50 bet. Sgt. Hacker then goes to Julie's apartment, revealing the $50 dollar bet. Julie thinks Gomer is in on the bet, but Gomer had no idea. Another good scene was Gomer expressing his disappointment To Sgt. Carter. That lead to Sgt. Carter explaining everything to Julie. Gomer and Julie go back to Lookout Point, for another sweet date. I thought this was a terrific episode. Susan Oliver(Julie) was very good. The writing was strong. The goodness of Gomer shined on.
