    1. Whenever possible the character's name should include Rank, First Name, Last Name.

    2. The Rank should be in abbreviated form if either the first name or the last name is included.  For example:

    Jim Nabors (Pvt. Gomer Pyle)
    John Napier (Lt. Ames)

    3. Use the following Rank abbreviations.  Always include the period, except where noted.

    Private: Pvt.
Private First Class: PFC (no periods)
    Corporal: Cpl.
    Sergeant: Sgt.
    Lieutenant: Lt.
    Captain: Cpt.
    Major: Maj.
    Colonel: Col.
    General: Gen.
    Brigadier General: Brig. Gen.

    4. If neither the first name nor the last name is known, then the rank should be spelled out.  For example:

    Jimmy Hayes (Corporal)

    5. Specialized cases: "Chief Petty Officer" is always spelled out (for "CPO" is not a generally recognizable abbreviation). "Military Police" is always "MP" with no periods, even when no name is attached.

The summary for the show Gomer Pyle seems to be wrong. It states that Gomer replaced Floyd on Andy Griffith. Which is incorrect. Floyd was on Andy Griffith from 1960-1967. Gomer was on from 1962-1964.

I can not edit the summary

    Thanks

The summary for Gomer Pule seems to be incorrect. It states that Gomer replaced Floyd on Andy Griffith, but Gomer was on Andy Griffith from 1962-1964 and Floyd was on from 1960-1967. Also I have seen many Andy Griffith shows with both of them on at the same time.

    Thanks

The summary should be understood as [the character] Gomer filled Floyd's cast vacancy....

To an extent this is correct. Gomer originally came onto the show when Howard McNear was having health problems and couldn't appear but he later returned to the series.
