  • A baby carriage is mistakenly sent to Gomer.

This episode is similar to an earlier episode entitled "Gomer and The Phone company". The similarities of the two episodes: Gomer has difficulty returning money and a baby carriage; he is accused of stealing; two of his buddies tell him not to retun the items; and Sgt Carter gets involved. In this episode, a baby carriage is delivered to Gomer, who did not order it. Sgt. Carter tells Gomer he can level with him, the implication being Sgt.Carter thinks Gomer could be a father. Gomer explains he didn't order it. Gomer first calls on the phone, only to keep being transferred from one department to another. At the store, he continues to be sent to different departments. A fellow in charge of security named Leonard asks Gomer for his receipt which Gomer doesn't have since he didn't buy the baby carriagre. Leonard thinks he was stealing it, so takes him to an office to a Manager. Gomer is asked to sign a piece of paper that he stole the baby carriage and will not come back to the store. Gomer refuses. Leonard tells Pyle to get a shrink. Leonard had a hilarious line as he said to Gomer "You're sick Pyle, and stubborn too". Sgt. Carter gets involved. He tells Pyle they have no right to keep him, and tells Pyle to leave with him. Leonard chases them down, bringing them back in the store, and suggest they could be part of a marine gang! Sgt. Carter yells at Leonard. A clerk comes to the office admitting she made a mistake on the baby carriage order, that the order was suppose to go to a G. Peal on Marine avenue. So Gomer is cleared. The Manager, who feels bad about what happened, gives Sgt.Carter a portable TV. He even writes out a receipt for the TV to show to Leonard. This sets up the best scene. Sgt. Carter tries to rub it in to Leonard by letting him see them walk out the store with the TV. As Leonard stops them, he asks for a receipt for the TV. Gomer hands him the paper. It's an order form for a baby carriage! Gomer picked up the wrong piece of paper. Leonard brings them back into the store. Back at the base, all is well, but Sgt.Carter tells him the TV doesn't make up for what happened. Then Mrs. Peal comes in to thank Gomer for all that he did. Even though the plot was a re-write of the phone company episode, the scenes with Leonard were different, and I thought very funny, so I still rate this as a very good episode.moreless
