  • Gomer becomes friendly with a fellow marine, only to learn their families have been feuding for years.

    3.0
Gomer meets a fellow marine named Branch, and they learn that they lived close to each other. They get along well, but when Branch learns of Gomer's last name, he informs Gomer that their families have been feuding for years. The episode ties in Gomer not liking Bayonet drills, where he is suppose to knock down other Marines. Branch tells Gomer that his Dad said he has to kill Gomer. The two are at a loss about what to do. They then decide during a Bayonet exercise, that if Branch knocks down Gomer, that is a "kill", and Branch's Dad would be satisfied. Gomer, as planned, falls during the exercise, as Branch has now "killed" him. Gomer says "For a killed Man, I sure feel happy". Branch tells his Dad, who does'nt believe it, then Gomer gets on the phone to prove he is "dead". I thought this episode was well below average.moreless
