JR sends everybody to work at the car wash to raise money for the Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. It is very touching.

"Superb"

I have to say that it personally bothers me when I am doing all the work and others are just sitting on the sidelines. It makes me very unhappy. Personally, I have two separate encounters at the local hospital here in Tyler, TX. Back in December of 2002, I learned that through the past four years in high school I had been having seizures and I had a mass located on the left side of my brain just about my ear. The doctor said that if it had been further back they could not have operated, and that the surgery was a success because I could have walked out with any one of a number of problems-lose eye sight, be blind, deaf, unable to speak, or unable to understand people talking. I was never really scared, but my family and loved ones were and by the graceful hand of God he saved me twice. Once, when I had an accident because of a seizure, I blacked out and again having his hands on the doctors guiding him where to cut bring me out of harms way.

The second event was very recent. My grandfather, Marcus Jefferson Swinney, passed away last November because of a staff infection. Five years ago, he was diagnosed with cancer; he did the radiation for it and beat it. Two years later, doctors diagnosed him again with a second type of cancer. He fought for three years, did radiation, meds, and this last treatment lead to him getting the staff infection that took his life. I think about him always!

I am really glad that these musicians, these stars were given the opportunity to come to this show and see how everyday people have to live. If they do not get anything else I hope they all walk away a better person, realizing we only have this one life. You have to make the best of it.moreless

The performers raise money for the children's hospital by a car wash. Julio acts like a little baby and everyone works together to raise money. Later, they go to the children's hospital to talk to the children there. Most of hte children had terminal illnesses and were dying. One in particular touched Bobby and he was changed through the expereince. Many were brought to tears. Later, they sang it off. I was really touched by this episode. Seeing the performers becoming emotional over those kids was heartwarming. My heart goes out to the kids. I thought John Rich was able to get his message out loud and clear.moreless
