With Wizards done now, and the channels it aired on(Disney for USA and Family for Canada) suddenly airing less episodes of it the instant the finale episode aired, it seems like Good Luck Charlie is gonna be Disneys final good show. I've been watching disney series shows since around 1999-2000 and there's always been good shows to watch. GLC and Wizards are the best of all the shows Disney has had since the 90s. Once GLC is done, I think that's it for Disney. They're usually good at replacing good shows that ended with new good shows, but looking at the 2012 lineup of new shows, none of them look good at all(the moment I saw the trailer for glc and wizards before the premiere, I knew they'd be good shows, don't have that feeling about any of those new shows disney has)

Hopefully with Wizards done, it means that Disney puts lots more time into GLC, not because they need it, but because it's the only good show for them. Already in the 50s for episodes, hopefully it does beat Wizards for most episodes on Disney(Wizards really started to pick up after their movie, the same could happen for GLC?). This show is already better than some of the shows in the past(like Full House,Brady Bunch) and in the future it could maybe even be better than Boy Meets World(can only beat BMW if GLC actually airs 6+ seasons,so then it'd grow up with the viewers the same way BMW grew up the characters from grade 6 all the way to college in the show).

I don't see anyone from the main cast causing any sort of problems for the show, so that's a great(and rare) thing for tv shows today. Not many good tv shows get real good long runs, so hopefully GLC can make it to 6 or so seasons because they really deserve to.

Also, does anyone know any good GLC forums/message boards? Cause this one barely works, and not much posts on it either.

I agree, I love GLC simply because of what it is, DIFFERENT. It reminds me of the sitcoms I loved back in the day, Full House, Home Improvement, many family sitcoms. It's something that's not done on Disney, that's for sure, and finally a show that doesn't center around someone being famous, someone having powers, just average family life, and I think that's why it's so successful, because it doesn't delve across that fantasy line into "Well that'll never happen."

I do think this is the best show out there, and I'm loving it. I hope it turns out to be long and successful. Can't wait to see what happens with it's new season, and I can honestly say about this show that I haven't been able to say about most shows on Disney, I'm actually biting my teeth with anticipation for when the next season is going to start! XD

Seriously though....I want it to start already

DXD has some good new shows (Austin & Ally, Kickin It) IMO but I agree most of the good programs on DC proper are now gone.

I wish Debby Ryan would stop embarrassing herself on that awful show!

^Just from the commercials alone, those shows don't look good. If the commercials don't even look good, then the show itself wouldn't look good. GLC and Wizards I knew almost nothing about anyone on the show, but the commercials themselves before the show premiered were good enough to make me interested.

i think everyone knows how i feel about good luck charlie and the general quality of programming on disney

what i dont get is why disney keeps on spitting out this endless stream of crap instead of letting the shows that are having success go just because they have reached that 4 season limit of theirs.

It used to be a 2 season limit, so be thankful for a 4 season one. They were really strict about it too >> they wouldn't even give Hillary Duff an extension. Then they made an exception for TSL. Then they made other exceptions.

TSL? I thought instead of making that exception they made a new "continued" series out of that.

But I agree, they need to let the good shows continue onwards instead of bringing mindless crap after crap

wasnt the first exception made for thats so raven? speaking of thats so raven there's another example of a show that could have and should have lasted longer than the 4 season limit.

i can get why they ended lizzie. Given disney's seeming refusal to portray college life that show had a limited lasting period anyway. Dont get me wrong though i did like lizzie and its easily one of the best shows disney has had

i feel like that alot of these shows could have lasted alot longer assuming the actors/actresses still wanted to stay with the show on most other networks. Raven and lizzie could have lasted a couple years longer, who knows one of them might be going right now.

Good luck charlie, on any other network i could see lasting for years from now. It just sucks that it wont get that oppertunity

TSL went 3 seasons, THEN there was the spinoff continued series. I don't think Raven went 3 seasons, it might have but I think TSL was the 1st. I know definitely that DC refused to extend Lizzie McGuire even though it was their most popular show at the time.

Ah yeah actually I KINDA liked TSL, not so much though. Lizzie McGuire was the best show of its time. In fact Good Luck Charlie seems to be a nod toward those classics like Lizzie, Even Stevens, and That's So Raven (Which wasn't all that bad). They need more shows like that, in my honest opinion. Not these shows about being famous or being rock stars, or dancing or being the whole "Look I can put a wig on and nobody else is the wiser!!!" fantasy.

No arguments there, it is BY FAR the best show right now. I believe I read an article where Jason Dolley pretty much comments on the show (at the time of the article, the show was beginning) being intended as a nod towards those family sitcoms of old. I don't remember where I saw the article, probably on tvguide.com

problem is that in the past disney did seem to be tryting to appeal somewhat to a middle age/slightly older or teen audience with their shows like thats so raven and lizzie mcguire

but now its being geared more and more to a younger audience and thats probably why were getting all these shows with fantasy premises. but these shows are also becoming increasingly weak and the acting is going down hill..i dont get any chemistry with alot of these actors on the shows anymore

Well actually until this season DC had mostly teen High School age actors (see HM, Zeke & Luther, I'm in the Band ,TSL on Deck etc) & this season instead they apparently are trying to appeal to elementary schoolers (Fish Hooks, Jessie etc). That is going to cost them a lot of viewers who will seitch to TeenNick or something similar.

I agree, but I have to say, Nick's getting just as bad. Man, the 90s were the golden age for sure. Nick, Cartoon Network, Disney, these were what I called the three kings, my three favorite stations. Now.....Well I haven't watched CN in over 1, 2, maybe more years as there's honestly nothing worth watching on there anymore. Nickelodeon used to have the best stuff, Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, etc etc, now the best thing on there, in my opinion, is Victorious. The sad thing is, that show is a live action show, which Nick didn't start doing until a couple years back. Face it, 2000/1 came around, the 2000s were the death of these networks. And as far as I can see, they're only going to get worse...
