For so many reasons this show should not have worked - mediocre cabaret style musical guests, a very outdated attitude, 15 hours of material per week, and jam packed with product advertisements containing repetitive scripts and people who really shouldn't be on TV. However such is the experience and genius of Bert Newton that he could breathe energy, interest and humour into this show day after day for 14 years, whilst also creating several character interplays, developing running gags and in-jokes, and conducting some of the best interviews ever broadcast in Australia. Please release this stuff on DVD!moreless
