  • Potential Lost

Carl was a good addition to the show. They should've stuck with his character, as a positive male role model. In true "buzzard luck" fashion in the Evans family, it makes sense that Carl would make Florida a widow twice. Even if they did follow through in the next season with a wedding, they would've ended the season with another funeral. I'm not sure ANY show could survive two funerals involving the family patriarch. I believe in the following season, they attempted to TRY and keep Carl going, by saying he and Florida were on honeymoon. I also remember the family was planning on visiting Carl and Florida, but that potential storyline hit a dead end. There was a lot of potential with Carl that was voluntarily left in the "X file".moreless
