  • The first episode of the series is one of the funniest, and gives a fair idea of what to expect in each episode. A great start to the series.

This episode seems to focus on turning the tables on the differences in English and Indian cultures. The first skit of the first episode is one of my all-time favourite skits, and it's a good example of reversing the English and Indian roles. Instead of an Indian trying to fit in in an English company, an Englishman is the fish out of water in an all-Indian business. Hilarity ensues.

One of my other all-time favourites is later on in the episode - the infamous "going out for an English" skit. Once again, the English and Indian roles are reversed, as a group of five or six noisy Indians make fools of themselves in an English restaurant. Once again, hilarity is imminent.

I really like this episode, because it isn't really dirty. One thing I didn't like about Goodness Gracious Me is that it seemed to get more and more dirty as the series went on. Nonetheless, this episode pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the series, in terms of the humour content. This is definitely a great start to the series.moreless
