Superstition: Pete said that opening an umbrella in the house is bad luck: The origin of this superstition is that in the 11th century BC, umbrellas were used by members of political and religious hierarchy from the east to protect against the hot sun's rays and ward off spirits that might harm them. Because of the umbrella's sacred relationship with the sun, it is wrong to use it in the shade. The superstition states that umbrellas should only be used outdoors, and using it in the shade will arouse "righteous anger of the sun"
Superstition: Unlucky 13 Pete had triskaidekaphobia (fear of number 13) in this episode. 13 is also considered an "unlucky" number in some cultures, like for the Bible, there were 13 people present at "The Last Supper".
Superstition: Black Cat Pete was seen stepping on a black cat's tail in a scene, and Goofy helped Pete avoid a black cat in another. Black cats are considered bad luck for their association with witchcraft and evil.
Even though Earl was Pete's competitor (Earl's Auto), he had different appearences in different episodes. He also appeared in Inspector Goofy and Major Goof. The only thing that was the same for all those Earls was that their businesses are beside Pete's one (Honest Pete's).
Waffles and Chainsaw are not in this episode.
