Wasn't as horrible as everyone pegged it out too be. Yes, Dan & Serena broke up for the possibly the fourth time in 2 seasons, but the story lines overall are way better than how they've been as of late. Leighton Meester is still a great actress, but Blair was just intolerable here.

I kind of predicted the whole Rachel & Dan thing to actually happen. It definitely complicates things what with Rachel coming back to Constance and Serena wanting to work things out. I was actually really interested in this story line, ridiculous as it may be.

Chuck's story line was very strange and I'm not sure I'm entirely in love with it. Chuck possibly part of some cult? I don't think that's the best overall. Stop giving scenes to Nate & Vanessa if they don't do anything! Honestly, it was just absurd at this point. Actually interested in seeing what's to come.moreless
  • Dan and Serena break up (yes, again), Nate and Vanessa play, Chuck is searching for sth (yes, again), teachers learn sth (how have they been so stupid)...

    2.0
This second season has been far less good than first one until now, and at the end of this episode, I caught myself thinking that it had been too much for me this time. It is good sometimes to have characters you really care about, at least you want to check next episode even if only for them. Dan and Serena were these characters. Now their story has become incredibly boring, and Dan has acted so stupidly in last episodes that I really wonder if him going to Yale is realistic at all. Not talking about Blair's behavior that I can't stand anymore, and absolutely useless scenes like those of Nate/Vanessa and the final one when Dan is finally falling into Rachel's arms (bed).

I can't believe it, but the character I disliked most (and loved to dislike) has become my favorite: Chuck Bass...

Time for a little less trash and a little more scenario, isn't it?moreless
  • Yet again, the writers of Gossip Girl send a twist our way....

    10
I was absolutely amazed at the end of this episode. When I end a Gossip Girl episode going "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God" and can't say anything else, I know it's been a great episode. The twist at the end was totally shocking. What's great about this series is that I can't stand Serena- I love Blair- but they always make me feel sorry for Serena when things happen with Dan, and this episode showed no exception. I was absolutely satisfied with this episode-- when I leave an episode feeling shocked and wanting to skip my the required flute recital of one of my colleagues to see this episode, you know it was a good one. A Must See for all of those who love this show.moreless
  • Gossip Girl.. well, well..

    8.5
Well, the whole Serena and Dan storyline, how could I say? It's going nowhere.. I mean, of course the writers will do some plot twist so she end up going to Yale as well. Otherwise, Blair, Dan and Nate (?) will attend Yale and Serena will be isolated. And I don't think the writers and producers will make everything brand new (stories, characters) just for her.. or will they?? hmm.. that would be a nice spin-off.. lol

Dan and the little teacher.. well, it was kinda obvious that they would end up together. I just didn't know if they would do it while she was teaching at Constance or after she changed jobs.. well, I.. we got our answer in this episode..

Blair is one of the best characters on the show but she's getting really annoying lately.. the exchange with the teacher was painful.. I wonder if she'll be just like that, using the gossip girl and creating rumours about everyone she dislikes at Yale...moreless

    • Episode Title: Carnal Knowledge

Refers to the movie with same title Carnal Knowledge (1971), starring Jack Nicholson as Jonathan and Art Garfunkel as Sandy. The film was directed by Mike Nichols and written by Jules Feiffer. The story is about two pals, who were college roommates, about their sexual and emotional confusion and experience with ladies, since the day that they met at college in the 50's up to the Vietnam era, when they are already adults. This move has faced legal problems because of its content of sexual issues. The public had prejudice and different standards.

Although this term - Carnal Knowledge - has a very simple explanation. The word carnal derives from latin carnalis, meaning fleshly and the word knowledge in this phrase derives from the Biblical sense of to know, which means to have sexual intercourse with. Sometimes this term is used to describe a rape.
