  • Double Identity

The first thing I thought in the beginning: Chuck went crazy?? I was afraid about the Chair's end. Sad to see Serena and Dan in love but not able to stay together. These two couples are my whole life
  • I'm impressed...

This episode wasn't a usual gossip girl episode. It had so much more to it than just drama and fancy clothes. It was all about expectations and life's lesson for making choices and all that kind of stuff. The episode was shot beautifully - I loved the many shots in Paris which was fresh. Finally something more than the Upper East Side.

There are not any love triangles anymore, but rectangles. Keep that in mind when watching.

And finally I have to comment on the soundtrack. They have made great choices in that area as well. The music fluently diverged with the acting and made this episode great to watch.moreless
  • Very complex episode & asthetically beautiful!

I liked this episode for all the twists and turns involved, what with Chuck in Paris and the love triangle between Serena, Nate and Dan. The introduction of Juliet last season I knew was going to pop up again later on. I don't know what she's up to, but I was glad that Serena didn't get her own way with making a choice between Dan and Nate and I'm getting a little tired of Serena & Dan/Serena & Nate, I think Serena needs someone else.

Leighton Meester did an excellent job in this episode, as she always does, in playing broken-hearted Blair. But, I stand by my belief that her and Chuck belong together.

The shots of Paris were beautiful, and it was nice to see a change of scenery. Looking forward to the next episode!moreless
  • Gossip Girl has turned into a soap opera.

This was a bit of a disappointing episode. The not-so-Gossip Girl is out to get Serena, why is there always someone out to get one of the gang? And now Chuck is a sweet, caring guy who's bringing a sweet, caring girl back to his sordid life on the Upper East Side.

Chuck is not an interesting character if he's not a womazing, manipulative pig. So I assume his innocent girlfriend is either going to see to the real Chuck, which is inevitable, or she's going to see that he's not over Blair. Either way, she won't be sticking around.

Blair lied about not loving Chuck, you don't just fall out of love with the love of your life in just 3-4 months. But good for her that she's able to resist him even after finding out about his intended proposal and him being shot holding on to the ring. I'd jump into his arms!

Poor Serena, all alone again. I guess she kind of deserved it for leaving Nate hanging, but she didn't exactly leave Dan hanging. But Juliet won't last once her agenda is uncovered, and Vanessa's leaving the show later on so Dan and Nate will be free agents. Personally, I want her back with Dan. I sound bitter in this review, I just don't like new characters, though I do love Katie Cassidy.

I'm curious to find out about the overall scandal with Georgina and Milo. But I doubt Dan will give up the child so easily. Maybe Rufus and Lilly will adopt him and give Dan a chance to finish college. Overall, a very poor episode.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Goof: When Blair comes back to the apartment she has both shoes one when she was supposed to have only one because the other one she gave it to Louis.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Nate: So when I grabbed your hand back there, you seemed to like it. Was that just a part of the act, or do I actually have a shot at a date?
Juliet: You've been over Serena for, like, seven minutes. You're not ready for me yet.
      Nate: And when I am?
Juliet: You know how to find me.

    • Blair: Just because you're dressed poorly doesn't mean you're not Chuck Bass.
Chuck: Why would I wanna be him?
Blair: You should have told me you got shot.
Chuck: I'm surprised you didn't shoot me yourself.
Blair: I have. Many times. In my dreams. The good ones.. But if you were really hurt, i would wanna know.
Chuck: When I woke up, my ID was gone. Nobody knew who I was, nobody was coming to look for me. I realized that I might be alive but Chuck Bass doesn't have to be.
Blair: Changing your name doesn't change who you are.
Chuck: It's a good start. A chance to live simply, earn people's respect. Maybe become a person someone could love.
Blair: Someone did love you. And you owe it to her and everyone else you are leaving behind not to run away, which is what you're doing. And I don't think that great man you're talking about wanting to be.. is a coward. I think he would face up to what he did.
Chuck: I destroyed the only thing I ever loved.
Blair: I don't love you anymore. But it takes more than even You to destroy Blair Waldorf.
Chuck: Your world would be easier if i didn't come back.
Blair: That's true. But it wouldn't be my world without you in it.

    • Dan: Here Nate, can you take him for a second?
Nate: I don't have to sing, do I?

    • Dan: (Singing to Milo) This loft is your loft, this loft is my loft. Where's your aunt Jenny, she moved to Hudson. She wears... leggings.
Nate: Wow, I wish I hadn't seen or heard that.

    • Eva: You got me a ticket?
Chuck: We don't need tickets. I'm Chuck Bass.

    • Blair: I love you Nate or I love you Dan
      Serena: I love you Mum
