All my doubts about the new season of Gossip Girl haven't been put to rest just yet, but this was still a good installment. The scenes between Blair and Serena were definitely the absolute best, but I'm having trouble sympathizing with Serena, at least Blair has a logical reason to scheme, Serena just does everything to get even.

Last week, Dan interacted with Chuck, this week, with Nate. Both great interactions, and I'm glad they're developing some substantial friendships between the guys. I'm actually liking the Jenny development, and I never liked Jenny but her scenes were enjoyable tonight.

The dynamics in general between Blair & Serena were quite fantastic beginning with a cat fight and ending the episode in each others arms, nice to see this show going back to it's roots. Good installment.moreless

  • It was cool to see everyone try and figure out how well they would fit in at Yale.

    "Great"
I loved the war between Blair and Serena in this episode. I felt so bad for Blair, all Serena had to do was be herself and everyone loved her. Blair came up with some great ways to try to counter Serena's success. I felt so bad for Blair because Yale was her dream and she did everything that she needed to do to get in but it just wasn't working. The rest of the episode wasn't quite as good. Dan trying to find recomendation letters and Jenny trying to drop out of school was boring. Nate changing his name also wasn't very exciting. It was great that Chuck found and way to own the Frat guys but I wish they had given us a better idea of what he was up to. Although these storylines weren't great, Blair and Serena made up for it.moreless

  • Blair and Serena BFF

Blair and Serena are BFF again woo hoo. I was really happy about that. The fight scene was awesome and somewhat arousing. I love B*tches when their feisty, don't you?

My main love for the show still revolves around the amazingly gorgeous Jenny who tried to get her dad to let her get home schooled so she can chase her dream. At first he said no but Mrs Van Der Woodsen knew the right thing to say, without even knowing about Jenny wanting to chase her dream. Chuck owns the Skull and crossbones after taking secret pictures of him with hot foreign women he arranged. I love Chuck, he's the kind of high class dickhead that I like.

Gossip Girl is still soaring with ratings and I'm really hoping it can reach 4.5 million before the season is up.moreless

  • Blair, Serena, Dan, Chuck and Nate visit Yale.

Okay, that girlfight was pretty pathetic. Outside of that Blair was great in this episode. She didn't go over the top she was just showing how much better she is at the game than Serena. I loved her speech about how everything she had to offer was in the packet.

I'm not the biggest Nate fan out there, but I like the chemistry between Dan and him and hope the writers pursue that more in future installments. Chuck besting the Skull and Bones guys was great, but he was also pretty disappointing as a whole. No really funny lines from him tonight.

The real problem with this episode was the whole Jenny storyline. It was just boring from start to finish. Now with her out of school it looks like she won't be interacting with the rest of the cast in many of her scenes which is going to make them even worse.

Some of the dialogue was outrageous and they did play up on too many college stereotypes, but this was still a pretty good hour.moreless

  • Better and better for every episode!

Chuck is the best. I don't wanna say what he does in this episode (if have not seen it), but it's just great haha.

Blair is also funny. She is working so hard to fight Serena. Very cute when she is angry haha.

Dan is doing he thing. Books and so on. But he is also a great character and without him it would be boring. It's fun with a guy like that. He allways get in trouble, even in this episode he happens to run into the Skull and Bones. =P

Nate is Nate, he keep finding girls. I must say he is a little bit boring. But he has his charm even in this episode.

Jenny keep working with the design and still trying to make her dad understand. Cute and great character. Tho it would be fun to see her do something else then just design.

In the end. This episode was great.

    Keep em coming!moreless

    • The rain in Spain falls mainly in the plain this whole starting scene is a copy from the film My Fairy Lady (1964) where a upper class professor (Rex Harrison) bets that he can turn a cockney street flower seller (Audrey Hepburn) into a presentable young lady. Blair imitates Audrey Hepburn trying to perfect the verse in an upper class English accent. Hepburn perfects the saying and the professor says "by George she's got it!" and they sing happily. Hepburn then attends the races with the professor and she is wears the dress Serena is wearing when she says the line. Edit
    • Serena: I love Claude Lelouch.
Claude Lelouch is a French actor and director. His most famous movie is Un homme et une femme. He certainly doesn't have anything to do with "romans de gare" as Serena mentions it. Edit
