  • Season 2 Premiere

    6.5

Solid premiere from Gossip Girl but we definitely were missing a lot of the classic interactions this show had last season. Most of the episode was bogged down by constant talking about everyone's love life, but it still was an entertaining hour, with some salvageable moments.

The first takeaway scene was Blair's hilarious reaction to her date's true identity. "Whaaa...?" I am rooting for Serena & Dan, but I just hope the writers decide if they want to keep these two together or not, especially, this early in the season.

The Nate/Serena interactions were tired, as were his interactions with Catherine. I never found his character interesting at all, so this story line also kind of annoyed me. The Jenny & Eric interactions surprised me, Jenny is at least tolerable now, not like she was last season.

Overall a good enough premiere of this most-talked about series, but I could definitely imagine some people upset over this premiere for some of the reasons listed above, but it still was Gossip Girl, after all.moreless
  • Summer is over. Well almost.

"Summer, Kind of Wonderful", huh? More like "Summer, of Discontent and Awkward Moments that Will Keep Us Entertained Long Enough to Live Through an Hour." Sorry, for that but it's true. This was a horrible opener for such a great show. After all of the angst of the previous season I was expecting something good, and something that would shock me. Instead I get this. An hour of "wonderful-less" television. Honestly, I kept leaving the room just to make the time pass by. Hoping for a shocking or at least a good ending, I get dumped on with Serena and Dan on the beach. Haven't I seen this in another Schwartz show?moreless

I tthought this episode was fastand fun, Blair making Chuck jealous was good but I enjoyed the part where Jenny got into the party. Nate was funny when he had to run out of the house becuase of Catherine's husband was home. This was a good episode.moreless
  • Summer is coming to an end but things are only just heating up.

    9.0
    "Superb"
Nate and his cougar Catherine makes for amusing scenes, Serena and Dan continue the tango "will-we? will-won't we?" which is getting tedious... Chuck and Blair banter, he can't commit and then in an hilarious twist it turns out Blair's fake boyfriend is an English Lord (suddenly making him a million times more attractive to B) and (aspiring fashion designer) Jenny and Eric repair their relationship. All this happens in the Hamptons with our favourite GGs dressed in sexy summer dresses.

Something about GG isn't as good as last season, but it still has it's moments. My only complaint is the O.C.-esque beach scene with Serena and Dan. That kind of thing made the O.C. get axed. So please, more sex and scandal.moreless
  • Chuck and Blair were great in this episode! 8.7/10

I loved the conflict between Blair and Chuck. It was entertaining to see her put so much effort into making it look like her and James were madly in love every time Chuck was around. I also loved Chuck's reaction and how jelous he was but he couldn't just tell Blair how he really felt. The storyline with Dan and Serena was pretty good. It was cute how Serena couldn't stop thinking of him and wasn't able to get a rebound guy because of it. It was really interesting when Dan suprised her at the party and walked in to see her kissing Nate. Nate's relationship with Catherine didn't seem to have too much of a point in this episode but it was a decent storyline. Jenny's storyline didn't really do it for me, I never really like it when they focus on the job. I guess it's good that she's becoming a better person but it's kind of boring.moreless

You made me use him! Chuck: I didn't make you do anything. You were just you. Don't you see we're the same? Stop trying to fight it. Blair: I will fight until my last dying breath because any resemblance to you is something I would hate about myself.
