  • Can this show get any worse?

This show has just gone from spoiled rich kids to impossible and just plain annoying. One thing I must point out is Rufus's super fake voice. In the slim possibility that it is real, the mere fact that it sounds fake already destroys every single positive thing that could come out of it being real.

Dan is switching boats? But why? Georgina is really getting on my nerves, it just goes to show how much free time these rich useless, poison to society type of people are. I just don't get how she benefits from what she does? And her face is so annoying, I just wanna shoot her.moreless

No Jenny? Than it must be a good installment of Gossip Girl, that statement was definitely true tonight. After the definite Jenny overload we got in the past couple of episodes, she was finally gone to make room for the more important story lines.

I was incredibly intrigued and enthralled in Serena's story. I never actually blamed her for the guy's death, she didn't really "kill" him as she had claimed, but I was still satisfied with the pay off.

I'm really loving Georgina, and the cliffhanger was just really great, with the shots going back and forth from Serena & Georgina and Dan kissing. Loved the friendship dynamics between Nate, Blair and Chuck. Also it was nice to see Vanessa actually being useful with the Sara/Georgina tie in. Overall, great penultimate episode of the first season.moreless
  • Serena's secret is revealed.

    7.1
Although the acting on the show is sub-par, this was a fairly decent episode of Gossip Girl. Instead of behavior passed off as scandalous, but rather better described as lame and ingenuine, we had a powerful, emotional storyline. While Blake Lively is not the best actress in the world, she was able to get the viewer interested in her story and feeling for her. Leighton Meester was great in her role, coming down to Earth from her "Queen Bee" status to help her friend out. The whole apologizing to the family deal was not needed though, and anything involving Rufus is usually brutal crap. If Gossip Girl would just try more to be a classical teen drama than an exaggerated look at female behavior more people might watch the program.moreless
  • exactly why i watch the show. great episode :)

exactly why i watch the show. we learn serena's secret, and we learn that chuck and georgina, well, you know :)in sixth grade! love chuck! And we get some rufus/lily action! Her interview with that guy from rolling stone, that was a turning point for her. she realized how much she loves rufus. yay! And lets not forget about " sarah" a.k.a. georgina. dan and vanessa have no clue who she really is! and her little story about how her boyfriend is out to get her?! how could dan believe that? i mean i thought he was supposed to be smart? all in all, great episode :)moreless
  • The non-judging breakfast club saves the day!

    9.2
It was great that Nate, Blair and Chuck set their differences aside to help their best friend. It was a good episode, and we finally find out Serena's secret. A lot of people would say that Serena is a wimp for not telling Dan about her secret. But I think otherwise. She didn't want to cause conflicts with Georgina especially when she's still convinced that she killed Pete. Lily and Rufus were amazing in this episode, especially when Rufus was looking at her while he was singing. CB shippers had their fair share of CB moments. Nate was quite stupid when he told Vanessa that they should look for Dan and Georgina "alone". Speaking of Georgina, she is a manipulative psycho b*tch and I love every bit of it. The way she could twist the truth and lie about why she was pretending to be Sarah. That was genius! Of course Dan fell for it. All in all, great episode.moreless

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • Gossip Girl's post at the beginning of the show read like this:

      Trouble in Paradise?
Is the honeymoon over for our famous lovebirds? They've recently been spotted arguing on several occasions. What's the deal? Did Serena finally wake up and realized she was dating Lonely Boy? Is Dan totally fed up with Serena's recent wild girl actions? We hope they'll bounce back from this rough patch because, surprisingly, Gossip Girl thinks they're a pretty cute couple (even though he's from, ugh, Brooklyn.)

    • We learn in this episode that Chuck lost his virginity to Georgina in the 6th grade. Which is also mentioned in the Gossip Girl 'Because I'm Worth it' book.

    • Rufus' band is called Lincoln Hawk.

  • QUOTES (29)

    • Dan: Did you sleep with someone else?
      Serena: Yes.
      Dan: I'm done.

    • Gossip Girl: If I were you, S., I'd be worried. In the city that never sleeps a lot can happen in one night. Sweet dreams, Serena. XOXO Gossip Girl.

    • Serena: I'm not afraid of you anymore.
Georgina: You should be. 'Cause all bets are off.
Serena: Why? What are you gonna do?
Georgina: It's not what I'm gonna do, Sweetie. It's who i'm gonna do it with.
Serena: No. I know Dan. He's too good.
      Georgina: You sure about that?

    • Georgina: Hey V. I didn't realize you'd be able to hang during the concert.
Vanessa: Do you have something you want to say to me?
Georgina: Not... that I know of.
Vanessa: You sure about that... Georgina?

    • Lily: Sweetie, if I have learned anything in life it is that sometimes things get in your path and you have a choice. You can either smash right into them or you can adjust and move around. But you have to do one or the other in order to move forward.
Serena: How can I do this?
Lily: I'm gonna be right by your side.

    • Chuck: What's gotten into you?
Blair: What if I told you I knew where Georgina Sparks was right now?
Chuck: I'd say let's get the bitch.

    • Blair: I say this with all due respect, Lily. But you have no idea what your daughter's been s going through. She's in a lot of pain. And I don't think the pain's going to go away if she goes away.
Lily: I don't understand what you're trying to tell me.
Blair: Serena has a secret. And she's been holding onto it for a long long time. And now it's finally catching up with her. I'm out of my league here. I can't do any more than I've done. And it's not enough. She needs you.
Lily: I saw the video. She needs boundaries.
Blair: What you saw isn't the whole story.

    • Serena: I didn't know what to do. I just knew I had to leave right away. I took a train heading North and I got a room and convinced my mom that boarding school was a good idea and...
Blair: Never said goodbye. It makes sense now.

    • Interviewer: Do you think you were able to take incredible photos of Rufus Humphrey because you were in love with him?
Lily: Well I wasn't in love with him... that much.

    • Chuck: So we have every hangover cure known to man. Plus bagels.

    • Georgina: The moment I met you, I've been falling for you.
Dan: You wanna just go somewhere we can talk. Somewhere quiet.

    • Serena: Dan puts me on a pedestal, if he knew the truth he will never look at me again.
Chuck: Your starting to scare even me. What did you do?
Nate: C'mon, you can tell us.
Blair: We've seen you with vomit in your hair, making out with investment bankers in the men's room at PJ Clark's. You don't have to hide anything from us.

    • Blair: You can tell us anything. We don't judge. We're the non-judging Breakfast club. We're your best friends. Anything you do is something we did too.
Serena: If I tell you, it can never leave this room.

    • Serena is telling Blair, Nate and Chuck about her secret with Georgina.
      Nate: What about her?
Serena: Well, something happened the night of the Shepherd's wedding.
Blair: I think we're all aware of what happened that night.
Serena: No, something else. Something I've tried to escape but Georgina won't let me. And now she's blackmailing me.
      Nate: Blackmailing you?
      Chuck: With what exactly?
Serena: (about Nate) Well, it started when Blair thought you and I had too much to drink. She told us to get some air, go outside, sober up. Instead, we ended up in the bar and I opened that bottle of champagne and we... well...
Blair: We can skip that part, k?
Chuck: Go ahead, I'll fill her in later.
Serena: I left in a hurry. I felt so terrible, so guilty for what I'd just done. I just.. I had to get out of there. Georgina and I had plans to meet up after, so I headed straight to her... little did I know, she had a surprise waiting for me.

    • Dorota: (on the phone with Lilly) I think you should have worry about your daughter. Worry like before she went away.

    • Serena: Because, I would rather Dan think I cheated on him than know what I really did.
      Nate: What you really did?

    • Gossip Girl: In our modern age, when you call someone and can't find them you can be pretty sure they'll get the message. But if they don't call you back, it usually means they don't want to be found.

    • Serena: You all know Georgina Sparks.
Blair: (looks at Chuck) Some better than others. It's not like you didn't lose your virginity to her in seventh grade.
Chuck: Sixth and I've been avoiding her ever since. The bitch is a psycho.
      Nate: What about her?

    • Serena: I don't feel so good.
Georgina: (to Pete) Don't worry, she gets frisky right after she hurls.

    • Gossip Girl: Spotted, Lonely Boy, on the Upper East Side, learning the lesson that nothing stays missing for long.

    • Blair: Hello?
Nate: Hey, I only have a second. I'm on my way to Queens.
      Blair: Gross. Why?
Nate: To meet Vanessa at a concert.
      Blair: It got grosser.

    • Vanessa: Nate Archibald, man of the people.

    • Gossip Girl: Spotted, B. and C. reunited to defend S.'s honor. With friends like these, who needs armies?

    • Nate: You know, why do I get the feeling you're actually enjoying this?
      Chuck: Call me sentimental.

    • Serena: So where's Georgina?
Chuck: You're out of luck, she just left.
      Serena: Where's Dan?
Chuck: I'm out of luck, he's still here.

    • Serena: Why are you here?
Blair: Uh, I'm a big fan of Lincoln Hawk?

    • Vanessa: (to Georgina) I'm not a big fan of liars, and neither is Dan.

    • Nate: She's right, Serena, none of us are saints.
Blair: Yeah, I had sex with him in the back of a limo.
      Chuck: Several times.
Nate: And I had sex with you at a wedding when I was her date. (to Chuck) Once. (everyone looks at Chuck)
      Chuck: I'm Chuck Bass

    • Dan: (seeing Blair, Nate and Chuck together) Wait, don't you all hate each other?
      Blair: Yes.
      Nate: Absolutely
      Chuck: No
