This episode deals with a serious situation, but in the usual humorous way. Libby is beginning to purposely try and hurt her baby brother Patrick. First by feeding him strawberries which he is allergic to and it escalates from there. When Grace goes to tell Libby the stop, she throws one gigantic tantrum inside Russel Norton's pharmacy, embarrasing Grace as she feels this is a rejection of her mothering skills. After talking it over with Libby, Grace realizes what it going on. Libby believes that her parents divorced once the baby was born, thus Patrick is the reason that Libby doesn't get to see her Daddy anymore. She has no idea that the real reason is about the abuse her Daddy placed on Grace. Meanwhile, Grace and Russell go on a double-date with two very eccentric people. Russell's date is a hypochondriac, high-maintenance woman while Grace's date is so cheap he only orders a salad because it comes complimentary with Grace's meal.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (0)

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Nadine: I used to think my going to bed made the sprinklers come on because they happened at the same time. Grace: I used to think my house was alive. So I would put an apple under the porch every night to feed it, and in the morning it would be gone, and then one morning this little possum came running out. Nadine: So you figured out the possum ate the apples? Grace: No, I thought the house had a baby. I was five!

    • Quentin: Why do I have to wear a tie?
      Grace: Because I don't have a leash!

  • NOTES (1)

    • Grace: If Libby's head starts spinning around, grab Quentin and Patrick and get out of the house immediately!

This is a reference to a famous scene in the 1973 film The Exorcist. Regan is possessed by the Devil and her head spins completely around.
