In the first episode, where Dipper is reading the book in the Shack, Stan stands there for about a second before Dipper changes the book to Gold Chains for Old men magazine. What do you think?

Also, if we imagine that's right, then could Stan have went into the vending machine to try and do something with the book, or told someone about it?

I don't know, but one thing is for certain. Stan obliviously knows more about the wired things in that town than he is saying.

Yeah, I can't wait to find out what secrets he has. In episode 11, Lil' Gideon says that the Mystery Shack is not what meets the eye. And in episode 9, we see a younger Stan in the Mystery Shack on a snowy day. Maybe he started writing about the secrets of Gravity Falls then?

Well, one things for certain. I sure can't wait to find out more!

I'll bet they have something to do with whatever is behind that secret passage in the pilot.

I think Dipper is actually the one who wrote the books, and somehow left The Three Fingered Vol. back in time, in a spot he knew he would find, shortly after arriving.

I think the going back in time theory has a good chance of being correct because Alex Hirsh said blending baldin will make another appearance, and it might have something to do with him.
