    9.0
Can a room contain psychic energy, so that a person with suffiently attuned powers of extra-sensory perception might be able to witness, or at least learn about, events which had occurred in the room decades earlier? Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's chilling story reflects its author's great interest in spiritualism, which came to occupy him more and more in his later years, especially after his son's death in the First World War. This adaptation isn't entirely free of the blandness which bedevilled this series, but the power of the story is retained and the natural gravitas of Christopher Lee, as so often, counts for a great deal.moreless
