The story of Jean Valjean arrested for stealing some bread for his starving family and hunted down by the hard-nosed lawman Javert. The all-star cast appeared in costume, but sang at microphones. A highlight was a performance of "Do You Hear the People Sing?" by 17 men who have filled the role of Jean Valjean on stage, each singing a line in his native language.moreless
