Episode Recap

Bribing pledges? Affairs? The rat must be in Zeta Beta, and Frannie starts a disinfo campaign that Karl Rove would envy. But when ZB national sends an investigator, Casey worries that Frannie's lies will destroy the sorority. Casey confesses all and offers to take the fall -- and the investigator is so impressed with her honesty that she makes Casey acting president. But Frannie isn't one to take betrayal lying down, and she goes straight to Evan. Didn't he think it was weird that Casey stayed with him after the Rebecca Logan sexident? Evan says it made them stronger, and Frannie laughs in his face. Casey scripted the whole thing: She stayed with Evan because he's Evan CHAMBERS -- her ticket to the presidency of Zeta Beta. Evan doesn't believe her, but he should. After all, Frannie told Casey to do it. Evan's reeling, but Frannie saves her best for last -- Casey isn't over Cappie, either.

When Evan goes to see Casey, she's so excited! National appointed Casey president of Zeta Beta! But the good news just proves Frannie's story. Evan confronts Casey about Cappie, and she admits to kissing him during midterms. Evan's crushed -- and pissed. Casey doesn't love him; she loves what he can do for her. And now that she's ZB president, she doesn't need him anymore.

Casey isn't the only brokenhearted Cartwright: Rusty's girlfriend, Jen K., wrote the expose. She'd been playing super-snoop since the beginning of the semester. She comes clean with Rusty, mostly because it's hard to stay anonymous when the AP picks up your story. Jen swears she still loves Rusty, but he can't forgive her for betraying him and all his friends.
