  • With a new school year beginning everyone has new agendas and expectations, yet they are realizing that this year will not be as easy as they planned.

After the events of last spring some students were dreading the new school year while others were looking forward to it. Last year, Frannie started a new sorority, Rusty helped start a brawl between the Kappa Tau's and the Omega Chi's, and Casey faced a tough decision about her future, and Rebecca was left to decide where she would end up next year.

Casey Cartwright sporting a stylish outfit looked like she was having the time of her life interning for the Congresswoman, however a closer look made it seem like that might not be true. She was excited to see Max, and head back to Cyprus-Rhodes with him and start her senior year. As they pull into the ZBZ house, Max asked her if she was ready for all this, and cue Ashleigh. Happy to see her BFF once again the two were gitty with excitement until Frannie pulled up with Rebecca.

Well it seems there was not parking in front of their new house Iota Kappa Iota, or icky as Casey put it. What was even more puzzling was Rebecca, as it turns out she was activated as a ZBZ sister, but then deactivated to join IKI over the summer, prompting Casey to deliver some choice words expressing her disappointment and frustration. It seems that the ZBZ house is lacking in new officers, and Ashleigh really wants Casey to step up and once again be the Rush Chair, however Casey is not as anxious as Ashleigh would have liked, and nominates another sister. As the ZBZ's struggle with the fact that the IKI's do not face the same restrictions with rush since they are not yet part of panhellenic, they come up with a clever way to use the Kappa Tau's to help ruin Frannie's recruiting event. This is another thing that goes wrong for Frannie and IKI because not only do they live a Tri Pi who is past her prime, Frannie cannot pay the rent and turns to boyfriend Evan for the cash. Now for the real interesting part, as it turns out Rebecca is actually working for Ashleigh as a spy, and let's Casey in on the secret but Casey is apprehensive about Rebecca's loyalties.

Then came the hard part for Casey she had to tell Ashleigh she is planning to move out of the house, and that her summer internship was not as great as she had been telling everyone. This year she needed to buckle down and focus more on school and less on sorority drama. However, with a little help from Cappie she decided to stay and make the best of her last year in college.

Casey little brother was having trouble keeping the balance between Kappa Tau brother and honors engineering student, he created a sound proof bedroom in the house just so he could study. Rusty's oasis was soon interrupted by Cappie and Beaver who informed him that Ben Bennett, Gonzo, and some other kid were moving into his oasis, forcing Rusty to seek lodging in the tool shed with a possum.

Meanwhile Dale was having issues with his Canadian roommate, oh I loved Dale making fun of those wacky Canadians. It was clear that he missed his Rusty, and that he has a talent for sniffing out animal droppings. The Kappa Tau lifestyle was taking it's toll on Rusty, the crazy sleep schedule and the questionable ill-balanced diet that was taking a toll on his stomach, and he did not know if he could stay in the house much longer. After the Kappa Tau's ruined Frannie's event they stole a bus and Rusty realized that he didn't need to live in the house to be a brother after all. In the end Rusty and Dale took over Casey's lease of the model apartment in order to maintain their grades and sanity.

As for Cappie, he was pretty drama free and up to his usual hijinks, however he did give Casey some sage advice and was the first to find out that her summer was not so great. I think this is foreshadowing for the upcoming season, the two of them taking a page out of each other's books. Max however, is not going anywhere for the moment, after he went with Casey to find her new housing, he continued his ruse that his money from Cal Tech fell through. He only told Rusty that he decided to for Casey, and swore him not to tell, I hope Dale did not hear that one. Is this going to be Max's swan song, when Casey finds out will it mark the end for them?

Calvin has taken his old friend from high school under his wing, as the rest of the Frats on campus compete to get him as a brother, being the number one football recruit and all. Basically Andy is like the male version of Rebecca. I found it funny that the whole time he was being dragged between Kappa Tau and Omega Chi he was a little disappointed with the Omega Chi and impressed by Kappa Tau, and Rusty's speech on the bus. I am pretty sure he will go Kappa Tau, pissing off both Evan and Calvin.

This new year at Cyprus-Rhodes looks like it will be pretty crazy with ZBZ and IKI fighting over pledges and Kappa Tau and Omega Chi will be fighting for Andy. All in all the episode did a good job of giving a good preview of the new season.moreless
