I think this is like my third review of a television episode ever, so you know I don't do them unless it is worth it.

This episode was incredible. It had the light-hearted family feel to it, the comedy was there... especially with the turkey hunt. Seeing just how stupid Wade, Heath and Beaver can act is great and I know Heath is leaving, but hopefully Beaver and Wade get more screen time. I love their characters.

Some of the moments with Rebecca and Casey were good, I laughed at the redrum finger joke. Rusty always makes me laugh with how incredibly geeky he can be. Dale was his typical self, funny with virtually everything he says and just stealing every scene he is in.

The best part though of course was the Cappie-Casey story finally getting to where I think everyone has been wanting it to. I mean, seriously... I don't think I have ever rooted for a couple to get together as much as I have Casey and Cappie. Right from the very first episode, they've had great chemistry in every scene. And the last scene of this episode, how it was wrote and acted was perfect. The nervousness of Cappie shown in his inability to form a complete sentence and the nervousness of Casey shown in her inability to just shut up and let him speak. All culminating in them FINALLY kissing. My biggest hope now is that they keep them together. Sure, they can give them problems to get over or whatever for a little drama... but don't tear them apart just as soon as you've put them together.

People have waited 50+ episodes to see them together and they should stay that way. DEATH to the writers if they split them up.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Rebecca: (wagging her finger and croaking) Redrum, redrum, redrum.
Casey: Stop it! Rusty did that once and he swears he hasn't seen that movie.

    • Rebecca: (after catching Casey singing to Katy Perry) You really do think your life is a romantic comedy, don't you?

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (6)

    • Cappie tells his frat buddies that the charity golf tournament that he was using as his cover when he wanted to hang out with Evan was canceled because of an unruly gopher and some explosives. This is an allusion to the 1980 golf comedy Caddyshack starring Bill Murray, Chevy Chase and Rodney Dangerfield

    • Dale mentions to Rusty and Casey that his supervisor, Professor Lawson has been on Charlie Rose. Charlie Rose is a broadcast journalist that has his own television show on which he interviews numerous prominent writer, entertainers, athletes and politicians.

    • Rebecca: I care about old people. I watch Desperate Housewives.

Desperate Housewives is an ABC show that stars Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria and focuses on the struggles women face while living in suburbia.

    • Rebecca: It's like The Shining in here.

The Shining is a bestselling book by horror author Stephen King about a haunted hotel in the mountains and the effects that the spirits have on the family that live there during the winter. It was adapted into a 1980 movie starring Jack Nicholson.

    • During their first night alone in the house together, the creaking of boards scare both the girls. Rebecca tells Casey that while she can sleep through drunks passed out in the halls or all night Beyonce "All the Single Ladies" dance parties, she cannot handle the regular sounds that empty houses make. Beyonce is an award-winning American R&B singer who is perhaps still best known as being the former frontwoman of Destiny's Child and whose "All the Single Ladies" video won video of the year award at MTV Video awards in 2009.

    • When Cappie and Evan are in the Amphora Society's lair organizing food, Evan asks Cappie if he's been watching too much Dynasty. Dynasty is an American TV show that ran from 1981-1989 about a wealthy oil magnate and his family.
