Greeks On The Roof

Show Summary

Greeks on the Roof is an 11-episode talk show which debuted on the Seven Network in 2003. The show is produced by Kris Noble and it was cut off during the same year after its three-month run from April 1 to July 1. This Australian show is hosted by the unique character of Effie (Mary Coustas) and her presumed "family." Effie personifies a Greek-Australian character who is very inquisitive and funny at heart. The show is patterned after its British counterpart - The Kumars at No. 42 - and is a short-time hit in Australia. Every show features interviews with famous Australian actors and actresses. These celebrities are mostly asked about their careers and personal lives while Effie cracks her jokes and antics. A lot of celebrated icons do guest appearances such as Sam Newman, Molly Meldrum and Dr. Harry Cooper. The American talk show host Jerry Springer also makes an appearance in one of the shows.
