      • The Hooterville Airplane Company had a contract with the US Army (dated January, 1918) to build 32 planes, but they only delivered 26. That leaves the factory six more to build to fulfill the contract.

      • The Hooterville Airplane Company built the JN-4, known as the "Jenny".

      • Alf and Ralph claim to have given up $1.50/hour jobs as astrophysicists in Bleedswell to build airplanes in Hooterville.

      • Lisa serves Oliver and Eb cod fish balls. Actually, they're just hotscakes rolled up into a round lump.

      • According to the ad published in the "Hooterville World Guardian", some of the fringe benefits offered by Astro Digitronics include unlimited sick pay, free psychoanalysis, a year's supply of cracked crab, and ten paid holidays.

      • Lisa is awakened from her sleep by the "Written by" credits, and Mr. Haney has the "Directed by" credit on the pull-down sign on his truck. The next shade he pulls says "Haney's Non-Stop Bus-the scenic rout to Bleedswell".

      • (opening credits appear as Oliver and Lisa are in bed) Lisa: Oliver, Oliver! Wake up! Oliver: Huh? What? Lisa: Do you know anybody called Jay Sommers or Dick Chevrolet? Oliver: Who? Lisa: I was just dreaming that their names were over us.
