    • TRIVIA (4)

      • After another of his fife-accompanied speeches, this one about the nobility of law, a puffed-up Oliver marches off to his law office. As he leaves, Lisa hands him his hat--a stovepipe hat like Abe Lincoln wore.

      • Lisa's coffee is so thick he's able to lift the cup with the spoon that's stuck in it.

      • Haney tries to lease Brian and Oliver an office located beside the movie theater where the film Wings is in its "2nd smash week!" Wings was released in 1927.

      • Sam Drucker was once engaged to Brian Williams' aunt, Agatha Toomey. He broke off the engagement because she cheated on him--at checkers. When he'd get up to grab another Moxie, she'd move the pieces.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • Haney: (showing the office he's trying to rent to Oliver and Brian) Now let me show you it's other advantages. Running water! (shows water cooler in closet) Now over here we have this burglar-proof wall safe for your important documents. (opens safe and the outdoors is visible) Doggone, somebody swiped the back off of it!
Brian: You said this place had three rooms.
Haney: It does. There's this room and two others down the hall. One marked "Men" and another marked "Women."

      • Oliver: (gives another patriotic speech) You know, here a man can practice the law of Abraham Lincoln. (a fife begins playing "Glory Glory Hallelujah" in the background) You know, it was in a town no bigger than this where Lincoln first hung out his shingle, dedicating his life to bringing the protection of the law to all people, regardless of race, creed or color!
Lisa: (noticing soundtrack) Oliver, the fife player has a new tune!

      • Kimball: A county agent's gotta keep his ear to the ground.
        Drucker:
That's explains how you got all those rocks in your head.

      • Lisa: (during Oliver's speech about practcing law) Oliver, the fife player has a new tune!

      • Oliver: (Lisa's offered to be his secretary) You're not equipped to be a secretary.
Lisa: Now you're knocking my equipment!
