In a running gag, Lisa says Oliver is 68 years older than her. Then she raises it to 72 years, and finally 81 years.
The end credits on this episode differ from the norm. Rather than all the credits appearing over still shots of rural life, the credits roll over a moving aerial shot of a farm before turning into the standard stills.
Arnold sleeps in the Ziffels' bedroom in his own crib.
The new tractor features air conditioning, a stereo tape deck that plays music out of the wheels, and a two way radio.
When Lisa buys the tractor, she asks for a blue ribbon. When the tractor is delivered, however, it has a red ribbon.
Lisa:(to Oliver) Boy, what a grouch! That's what I get for marrying a man 68 years older than me!
Oliver: You mean, you think that my wife and your husband...(he laughs at the idea) Doris: You're laughing. He got the new tractor and you ain't.
Huh?: How is it that Oliver can afford to part with thousands of dollars to buy the Ziffels a tractor, but he never could afford to buy himself one?
