This episode features Lisa's first attempt at making her infamous hotscakes (which stick to the spatula) and coffee (Eb compares to pancake syrup).
Lisa calls her "hotcakes" pancakes in this episode.
Haney: Uh, huh, Mr. Douglas, that'll be a dollar...for bringing the lady out.
Oliver: A dollar?
Haney: (with his hand out) Well, I don't expect a tip.
Oliver: You're not getting one! (hands Haney one of Lisa's hotcakes)
Haney: Oh, uh, Mr. Douglas--
Eb: Maybe you can spend it. You sure can't eat it.
(Oliver's mother faints after seeing their farmhouse)
Lisa: I'll take you into the house.
Eunice:(looking again at the house) Oh, no! It's still there!
(Oliver mistakenly hands Haney a hotcake instead of a dollar bill) Eb: (to Haney) Maybe you can spend it. You sure can't eat it.
Oliver: (to Lisa) You'll feel better after you've had breakfast.
Lisa: Who's going to cook it?
Oliver: Oh well, I want to talk to you about that.
Lisa: What is there to talk about?
Oliver: About who's cooking.
Lisa: Darling, when we got married I promised to love, honor and obey. I said nothing about cooking.
Crossing over from Petticoat Junction are Bea Benaderet, Lori Saunders, Rufe Davis, and Frank Cady. Only Cady would become a regular on both shows as Mr. Drucker.
